The hotel is a bit older and could benefit from some updates, but it more than makes up for it with its excellent service and welcoming staff.
The food was good, with a wide variety of options to suit different tastes. The beach is well maintained, offering plenty of sunbeds as well as a shaded area for those looking to escape the sun. Do keep in mind that the beach can be quite windy, the entrance to the sea is rocky, and the waves can sometimes be rough.
For families, there is a children's playground, a fun mini disco in the evenings, and plenty of activities around the pools to keep little ones entertained.
A major advantage is the bus stop located directly in front of the resort, with buses reaching the center of Heraklion in about 30 minutes.
Overall, we had a very positive experience. In my opinion, the Booking.com rating doesn't do this hotel justice.
Dear Apollonia Beach Resort & Spa Team,
I would like to share my wonderful experience from our recent seven-day stay at your resort.
We had an absolutely amazing time with our family, and I would especially like to thank your entire team for making our stay and our birthdays so memorable.
My mother-in-law and I celebrated our birthdays during our stay, and we were incredibly touched by the thoughtful surprises. You placed sparkling wine and a beautiful birthday card in both of our rooms. Later that evening, after our dinner at the Greek taverna, the maître surprised us with a birthday cake. It was such a lovely and unexpected gesture and made our celebration truly special.
The dinner at the Greek taverna was absolutely fantastic. We enjoyed five cold and warm starters, a delicious main course, dessert, and wonderful beverages. Everything was beautifully prepared and was one of the highlights of our stay.
We also had the all-inclusive package, and the food throughout the resort was excellent. There was an incredible variety of dishes, with something different to enjoy every day. The pizza bar by the pool deserves a special mention — it was absolutely top class!
We particularly enjoyed the Greek evening, with fantastic Greek specialties, live music and dancers. We had such a wonderful time dancing together and enjoying the atmosphere.
A very special congratulations to the entire animation team. Every evening there was a fantastic show or concert at the Artemis Theater, and during the day there were games, activities and entertainment around the pool. Everyone was so friendly, energetic and fun.
But above all, we would like to thank your entire staff. From reception to the restaurants, housekeeping and everyone working throughout the resort, every person we met was incredibly friendly and welcoming. Even though everyone was clearly working extremely hard and around the clock, they always had a smile on their face and were ready to help.
We truly had an unforgettable seven days at Apollonia Beach Resort & Spa.
Thank you to the entire team for your wonderful hospitality and for making our family holiday and birthday celebrations so special.
We would definitely recommend Apollonia Beach Resort & Spa and would be very happy to return in the future!
Warm regards,
Simone Bernhardt
I had a great time at the Apollonia Hotel, and I'm very glad I chose it for my vacation!
Top-notch service, friendly staff, an excellent swimming pool and a great entertainment program - I felt that everything was taken care of and I could simply relax and enjoy my stay.
A special compliment to the hotel's animation team: energetic, enthusiastic and very professional young people. It was a pleasure to interact with them!
Thank you, Hotel Apollonia, for a memorable vacation!
A truly beautiful, clean, and exceptionally well-maintained resort. Everything looks thoughtfully designed, modern, and highly functional, while still maintaining a warm and welcoming atmosphere with great facilities and a fantastic mini market with an excellent selection of products!. The attention to detail is impressive, and the overall presentation is excellent. A place that clearly combines comfort, quality, and elegance. Highly recommended!
I am staying here at the.moment and was very disappointed when we arrived. The hotel according Jet 2 is a 4 star but the hotel has been given 5 star by the Greek tourist board. I have been to Zante and Corfu in a 5 star this is by far not rated correctly. Our first room was not what we expected being dark and with extremely dated furniture and had maintenance issues. (Although very clean apart from
One issue which was dealt with) We didn’t even unpack our suitcases. The hotel did move us on day 4 to a new room which is the one we expected and paid for and we are extremely happy with it is lovely . If this had happened at the beginning I wouldn’t be making this review. . This was after complaining to Jet 2 and the hotel. The staff in reception when we arrived wasn’t very friendly. . No welcome drink. No one helped us with our cases. The hotel food isn’t displayed very well. I’m gluten free there is only a small selection of foods for GF although a member of staff did give me some bread.
Positives are. The swimming pools are very good
Beach towels given
The Greek restaurant was very good and staff very polite and friendly.
I would grade the rooms 4 star now and food 3 and service 3
