**6/10 — A FLY IN THE CAKE. And that’s not even the biggest disappointment.** Yes, literally — we found a fly in a piece of cake at the Italian restaurant. The staff apologized, and we have no personal complaints about the waitress, but for a hotel proudly advertised as **“BEST 4 STAR HOTEL IN BULGARIA FOR 2025”**, it certainly leaves an impression. The hotel itself is clean, renovated and well maintained. Our room was spacious, housekeeping was excellent, the AC worked perfectly and the soundproofing was very good. However, comfort was disappointing. The pillows were extremely hard, the two-part mattress kept sliding apart, creating a nightly gap in the middle of the bed. We also had two single duvets instead of one double — and one of them actually ended up being used as a pillow. Food was the biggest disappointment. The main restaurant had a limited and repetitive selection with queues. The Italian restaurant was almost the same food: disappointing carbonara, Caesar salad with Chinese cabbage instead of romaine, and over-fried chicken. The Asian restaurant was somewhat better, although the sushi could be improved. The beach is genuinely good, with free sun loungers usually available in the morning. The beach bar staff were fast and polite. Overall, the hotel is decent, but **very overhyped**. After reading so many positive reviews and seeing the “BEST 4 STAR HOTEL” title, our expectations were much higher than the reality. **Overall: 6/10. Good beach and cleanliness, but definitely not what we expected from the “BEST 4★ HOTEL IN BULGARIA”.**

Personligt var det det bedste hotel, jeg nogensinde har været på. Maden her var den bedste blandt de andre hoteller, jeg har besøgt, f.eks. i Tyrkiet. Fitnesscentret er rigtig flot. Jeg kunne især godt lide underholdningsteamet, fordi de var så imødekommende over for alle, jeg mødte her. Jeg kunne godt lide deres daglige optrædener, og de var altid godt forberedte. Jeg kan varmt anbefale dette hotel.

Jeg vil gerne takke Astoria Hotel for et fantastisk ophold. Det var min tredje gang her! En helt fantastisk oplevelse! Det er det perfekte sted, når man søger komfort og afslapning. Privat strand med egen restaurant og bar. Personalet var venligt og imødekommende. Hovedrestauranten var simpelthen fantastisk ned til mindste detalje. Der er et madområde, hvor man kan spise, selvom man kommer sent om aftenen. Gratis bagagerum efter udtjekning, som man kan bruge flere gange – en rigtig god idé! Man kan beholde sit all-inclusive-armbånd efter udtjekning, så man kan spise og drikke, inden man tager hjem. Ros for de nye kaffemaskiner og den forbedrede rengøringsservice. Koffeinfri kaffe på menuen er en livredder! Værelse: Rummeligt, rent og pænt indrettet. Der manglede dog nogle basale faciliteter såsom en elkedel, kaffe eller te. Nogle gange om aftenen var der en dårlig lugt fra badeværelset. Den kom dog ikke fra vores eget badeværelse. Italiensk restaurant: 9/10 – Lækker mad og en hyggelig atmosfære. Laks af fremragende kvalitet. Asiatisk restaurant: 10/10 – Velsmagende og flot anrettede retter. Fremragende fisk og skaldyr samt tom yum-suppe! Hovedbuffetrestauranten: 11/10 – Stort udvalg og høj kvalitet. Godt tilberedt fisk, oksekød og lam! Maden er som på et 5-stjernet hotel! En særlig tak til kokken!! Dejlige bartendere overalt, der gør deres bedste for at yde den bedste service (tak til Maksim og Dmitry!) Nu til de »men'er«: 1) Lav venligst et røgfrit område på stranden, og forbyd rygning på altanerne! I løbet af hele opholdet kunne vi kun opholde os på altanen i mindre end 15 minutter! Vi kunne ikke trække vejret på vores værelse på grund af manglende luft. På stranden var vi nødt til at slå os sammen med andre gæster og skabe vores eget røgfrit område for at undgå den konstante røg. Rygere overalt! Som en pest! Jeg kom her for at slappe af og indånde frisk luft, ikke andres nikotinånde. Modbydeligt og usundt! 2) Rengør venligst jeres private strand. Der lå masser af cigaretskodder og glas. 3) Jeres nye all-inclusive-armbånd er så biologisk nedbrydelige, at de ikke holdt mere end to dage. Jeg måtte hente nye et par gange. Alt i alt er hotellets politik at gøre alt for, at man kan nyde opholdet. Jeg elskede det. Beliggenheden er fantastisk. Jeg kan varmt anbefale Astoria!

Jeg havde en fremragende oplevelse på Hotel Astoria. Faciliteterne er i topklasse, værelserne er meget komfortable, og personalet er professionelt og opmærksomt. Den generelle atmosfære og servicekvaliteten bidrog til et fantastisk ophold. Jeg satte også pris på ledelsens imødekommenhed og engagement i gæsternes tilfredshed. Det er et pålideligt og velkørt hotel, og jeg kan varmt anbefale det til alle, der besøger området.

First of all, I would like to express great respect for the people who manage this place, because it's certainly not an easy task. After reading both the positive and negative reviews, I can say that this hotel definitely evokes mixed emotions. The positives are the varied food, the three nice restaurants, and that's about it. However, after staying here for 10 days, you realize that the food becomes quite repetitive. Breakfast, snacks, lunch, and dinner are practically the same every day, with the only real difference being the desserts and pastries. The soft drinks are branded as Coca-Cola, but are they really? The juices from the dispensers taste completely different from the bottled Cappy juices. As for the cocktails, all the flavored syrups are non-alcoholic. Why? The staff are very friendly and helpful, and there are no problems when you need assistance. The hotel itself feels enormous. Fortunately, most guests spend their time at the beach, so the swimming pools are not too crowded. There is something for everyone: a 0.5 m children's pool, a swimming pool for laps, and a 1.4 m recreational pool. For families with children, I strongly recommend bringing water shoes because the beach is partly covered with pebbles and many shells. There is also a strip of shells when entering the sea. The rooms are clean, although even when we left the "Please clean the room" sign on the door, the housekeeping was barely noticeable. The beds were made and the bathroom mirror was wiped, but the sand brought back from the beach remained in the shower because there was no practical way to rinse it away. During our 10-day stay, the shower gel was hardly ever refilled, and it seemed that nobody was checking these supplies. Overall, despite the few issues mentioned above, I think this hotel is a good choice for a family holiday with children. The good weather certainly had a big influence on our overall experience. Although the hotel offers entertainment activities, in my opinion they are only average. Most of them take place in the morning and afternoon, with a short children's disco at 8:00 p.m. There is no option to leave your children in the Kids Club for more than two hours. Also, despite the posted opening hours, they are not respected. Sometimes the staff member arrives late, and other times the Kids Club closes earlier than scheduled.
