We were very impressed with this hotel. It has an authentic Turkish style, and the entire staff was incredibly friendly, positive, welcoming, and always smiling. The hotel grounds are beautifully maintained, clean, and well landscaped.
The location is absolutely stunning. The surrounding mountains create breathtaking views, and the sea has a beautiful turquoise color. The beach is covered with small pebbles and is very pleasant. There were always enough sunbeds for everyone, so there was no need to reserve one early in the morning.
We traveled with our three children, and they were, of course, the happiest of all. They had an amazing time, which meant a lot to us.
The only downside we noticed was the housekeeping. We always keep our room tidy ourselves, but there were days when it wasn't cleaned at all, and when it was, the cleaning was not always up to the standard we expected.
Overall, we had a wonderful vacation and would be happy to return to this hotel. We highly recommend it, especially for families with children.
The communal areas are lovely and kept clean. The standard of housekeeping in our room was very poor. Dirty bathroom, mouthwash glasses stuck to counter and dirty rims under them. Beds not always made, toilet rolls not replaced, balcony area only visited twice in the week we were there and the door was left UNLOCKED BOTH TIMES!!! This was a ground floor room. Disgraceful!
Plates and glasses brought back to the room weren't always cleared away and the coffee cups from the room weren't cleaned or replaced daily.
The outside restaurant decking was dangerous and in need of replacement not repair. Lots of slats broken and raised causing trip hazards, others broken creating holes. The tables on the decking were extremely wobbly to the extent that drinks were spilled.
The food was OK but not special. Our last night we ate as soon as the restaurant opened as we were being picked up at 8 for our tranfer to the airport. The food was lukewarm so must have been hanging around too long before the doors were opened to the guests.
Most of the staff were excellent but 2 deserve a mention for being anything but. The man running the grill was extremely bad tempered and couldn't keep up with the demands for what he was cooking and it was obvious.
The one young lad running the bar in the restaurant area was only interested in watching the young women and not in serving, he actually hid behind the door on one occasion having looked directly at my partner and walking away, he only came back after another person banged a bottle on the counter and that was despite him calling him and knowing he had been seen through the glass panel.
There are some positives to Marti Resort. The grounds are lovely, it is in the quiet end of town and close to the beach.
Entertainment was varied however due to rain on 2 occasions and also private parties, the venue was changed and this was not clearly signposted.
We have been to Marti once before but after this stay, we won't be returning.
The hotel was amazing, and the staff were incredibly helpful, friendly, and kind. The rooms were clean and a great size. The food was always delicious and fresh. We had such a great time! They also had lovely evening shows and activities. At this hotel, you feel like you don’t need anything else. ❤️
We stayed at this hotel for 9 days as a family with two young children, and overall we had a wonderful holiday. The hotel is beautiful, clean, and the majority of the staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming. Everyone worked hard to make guests feel comfortable.
One of the things we loved most was the location. The beach is only about a two-minute walk from the hotel, which was so convenient. We could easily go back and forth throughout the day, and we really enjoyed spending time there as a family.
A very special thank you goes to all the teachers at the kids’ club. They were absolutely amazing with our children. They were so kind, caring, and patient that our kids couldn’t wait to go there every day. They genuinely looked forward to spending time with them, and that says a lot. Thank you for making their holiday so memorable!
There are, however, a few areas where I think the hotel could improve.
Firstly, there doesn’t seem to be enough staff in the main restaurant during busy meal times. Many times we struggled to find a clean table because they hadn’t been cleared after previous guests. We often had to ask someone to clean a table before we could sit down. Once seated, it was also difficult to order drinks, as there was rarely anyone available to take orders. We usually had to queue at the bar ourselves, and the queues were often quite long. If you wanted another drink, you had to queue all over again. For a five-star hotel, I think table service during meals could be much better.
Secondly, the number of flies in the dining area was disappointing. There were a lot of flies flying around and landing on the food, which was quite unpleasant. I was honestly surprised to see this in a five-star hotel. I hope the management can find a solution because it definitely affected the dining experience.
Another issue was the indoor shower and toilet facilities near the pool. As these were the main facilities available while spending time by the pool, we used them regularly. Unfortunately, they had a very strong, unpleasant smell throughout our stay. This is another area that would benefit from better maintenance, as it wasn’t what we expected from a five-star hotel.
Housekeeping was another disappointment. Our room wasn’t cleaned for three consecutive days, and I had to contact reception before it was finally attended to. Even when the room was cleaned, the standard wasn’t what we expected from a five-star hotel. It didn’t seem like the floors were being properly washed or even lightly swept during our stay, dusting wasn’t done, and the bathroom wasn’t thoroughly cleaned. The bed sheets were changed only once during our nine-day stay, although the towels were replaced almost every day.
Finally, when we booked our holiday, we specifically chose a particular room with a balcony. However, when we arrived, we were given a different room. When I asked at reception on the first evening, I was told that the room we had been given was bigger and better. While I appreciate the intention, I would have preferred to stay in the room that I had actually booked rather than having it changed without asking us first.
Despite these issues, we genuinely enjoyed our stay. The atmosphere was lovely, the staff were fantastic, and the kids’ club was one of the highlights of our holiday. The location, with the beach just a short walk away, made our holiday even more enjoyable.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Marti Resort. It was beautiful and tranquil, and the service was outstanding. In particular, the service we received from Ramazan and Ali at the buffet restaurant was nothing short of luxurious. Please ensure they are recognised and promoted as soon as possible. I look forward to returning soon!
