We had a family room for myself and dd14, ds9, and although basic, it was clean and comfortable enough as a base for our holiday. A kettle would have been a very welcome addition, as would some more plug sockets. The hotel itself is lovely, very clean and welcoming, as is the main outdoor space by the pool. Pool was clean, grass area well maintained, with plenty of sunloungers, although unfortunately a lot of them were actually broken. I booked the all inclusive package, and honestly? I dont think it's worth it! Drinks included were basic, with the bar generally unmanned. The food offered every day was pretty awful. Dishes were lacking proper labelling and what was available was consistently cold and unappealing. The hotel is sat at the top of a steep mountain which wasn't well advertised when I booked, meaning that we had to rely on taxis whenever we wanted to leave. In the 4 days we stayed, I spent approx €300 on ubers alone. Evening entertainment wasn't of great quality either which was a shame.we found an arcade room which wasn't advertised, and it was clear to see why! Dark, dated, dingy, with 1/3 machines switched off and a further 1/3 broken. I probably wouldn't go back to trh paraiso, and if I did, it would be on a self catering basis with a hire car.
As other reviewers have noted, this hotel is quite dated and does not have many modern amenities to add much comfort to the stay. There is not a coffee machine or kettle in the room (though there is a fridge) and they don’t provide hair conditioner in the shower which I found quite surprising as I thought this was a basic toiletry (they also do not provide lotion or slippers). The toiletry they do provide, shower gel, had a broken, nonfunctional pump. These are little things that can be taken for granted as they’re normally expected from a hotel stay, but it was quite noticeable when they weren’t there nor fully functional. Moreover, the room was not particularly clean as there was debris and hair on the floor prior to my arrival. The room door is difficult to close and you have to forcefully push it to ensure it’s shut. The lack of attention to detail and limited amenities causes me to question the four stars TRH Paraíso has earned.
The best part of the hotel was the view of the mountains with their golf course in the foreground. It is stunning during sunset hour bringing a sense of serenity and appreciation for Andalusia.
The location isn’t great if you don’t have a car. It is an uphill 1.5km trek from the bus stop and commercial center (there isn’t a proper sidewalk and you have to walk on the road for long stretches). The hotel is located in a picturesque and quiet residential area with Estepona proper 15km away.
Overall, it’s fair quality for the price but doesn’t match its four star rating.
It's an old hotel but the room was clean and airy, plenty of food options and parking.
The hotel is far from the beach and very high up the mountain. Beautiful views but you definitely need a car.
The pool looks nice but we came at the end on March so no good for swimming. There is also a small play area for young children with swings, slide and climbing frame.
The room was tired but kept clean. No tea or coffee making facilities in the room. The staff were professional but not friendly. The indoor swimming pool was closed. The outdoor pool did not open until 11am. There was no daytime or evening entertainment. The food was luke warm at breakfast and in the evening. There was a shortage of staff in the dining area to clear tables and replenish cutlery, crockery and food items.
Ok hotel no bad food always something eat.
It is at the top of a very steep hill so taxis are needed to go to restaurants etc. 5-10 euro each way.
Over all enjoyed 5 days at pool with wife and daughter.
EZIO. member of staff was a great help and was the best member off staff some off the staff are a bit crabby which I found annoying.
