We had a terrific family holiday here. The welcome and service was generally very good & the hotel facilities were great. Our rooms were good & clean & tidy. However they could just benefit from some redecoration & maintenance. In terms of the location, the hotel is ideally situated by the beach & the commercial centre with supermarket & small shops is less than a 10 minute walk away. The food here is excellent, although we would’ve liked to have seen paella being served everyday. The pool is great, with a separate splash pool & slides, the entertainment team were also great, coming to poolside twice a day. The evening entertainment was also great, but it’s just a shame the location for this is separate to the bars. All in all this is a great hotel I’d recommend, especially for families with younger children.
We had an amazing stay at Estival Islantilla and would happily come back. The all-inclusive package was excellent, with a huge variety of food that changed every day, so there was always something new to try. Everything was fresh and tasty, and we especially enjoyed the Victoria beer on tap.
The only small downside was that there was no minibar in the room and no complimentary bottled water, so we had to buy water from the nearby supermarket. Apart from that, everything was fantastic. The staff were friendly, the hotel was clean, and we had a wonderful holiday. Highly recommended!
We booked a week here for our first family holiday with our six year old son. Through the week the staff have been amazing throughout, especially the life guards and entertainment staff. Most of all to Raul the 22yo life guard. The children all run around while the parents relax in the sun and this isn't a bad thing at all. The life guards and mini club staff all keep the children entertained enough to make it feel like a holiday for everyone. We get the impression the staff really do love their job here and help make it a step beyond what other places we have visited.
I would recommend that you learn some basic Spanish before booking as only a small number of people in the hotel speak English. It wasn't difficult to learn some basic phrases and it really helped out.
The food is great for a buffet and there is always plenty of options. The two drinks per person limit is something we wish we was aware of from the beginning but that's OK, also this is a NO SMOKING hotel which is something we wasn't aware of till we arrived.
The downsides:
If you leave your sunbeds for 30 minutes you get a warning sticker (even if for food) and another 15 minutes your towels get removed. The work around for this is you have to pay for a hotel branded towel to reserve your sunbed indefinitely throughout the day.
Apart from a walk to town, outside the hotel there isn't much to do. There are plenty of ammeneties if you drive or are willing to pay for a taxi most days to up to 45 minutes away but the hotel is where it was for us throughout.
TLDR
Great staff, great hotel, luxurious feeling pools, regular entertainment for the children, great selection of food.
Rooms are adequate, the odd bottle of water left every couple of days (had to purchase in bulk from the supermarket 20 min away).
Staff are lovely, site is clean and looked after apart from a loose tile and broken shelf in bathroom.
Food caters for all with a good range of salads, pasta, meats and fish, please be aware if you are veggie or vegan because ham seems to find its way into everything as my partner discovered.
If you are looking for a lot to do in the vicinity I'm afraid this area is not for you as its very relaxed and only a few excursions available.
Just come back from a week at the Estival Islantilla, had a fantastic week and the weather was gorgeous, which was a bonus.
We had read on some reviews people had said about staff not speaking English, we had no issues with understanding staff, receptionist on arrival was lovely, very formative. All staff we came across were polite, we even learnt a little of Spanish and they appreciated it, your in Spain they are Spanish, we find more foreigners in our work place in the UK. hahaha

Couldn't fault the food, different theme every night. Breakfast we had freshly made omelette everyday, there was only 1 night my partner didn't eat and that was seafood night. Does get really busy by the drinks in the restaurant as its self-service.
Sea was very rough as it was windy, weather app said 19-20°c, did feel more like 25°c
Take water shoes, small shells as enter sea

10 minute walk to the left of the back of the hotel leads to a little shopping centre.
Rooms are very clean & tidy, I did purchase some foldaway hangers from Temu as read on review there was only a few, glad a purchased them as used them all.
Room could of been tidied with fresh towels daily, but we didn't need it, we had new towels twice, wgich was plenty, if we wanted the bedding changed we had to put a little leaflet on the bed, but didn't need to.
Given tokens upon arrival from reception, apart from in the buffet style restaurant, you give the bar a token and they give you the drink you want, if you are a couple you can take both tokens to the bar and drinks for you both, when finished take the cup/glass back and you get the token back to use again. We thought this was a really good idea, unlike other hotels we have stayed in where there's used cups/glasses laying around the lounges around the pool, there was none of that, kept really clean.
The toilets by the pool bar were always immaculate considering the amount of people using them.
Was given a room next to a family with a screaming kid, just a thought for who ever sorts out the rooms for guests, put the families together and the couples together, a few times we got woken by a crying kid.
The only negative about the accommodation is the pillows and beds, they are so uncomfortable, we were both waking up every morning with back and head aches, didn't complain as its not as if they can get us a new one.
All in all great week away.
