Our first trip to Europe with our kids was absolutely amazing thanks to Gut Wenghof in Werfenweng! We were the only U.S. family there, but language was never a barrier—everything was in German, yet the kids had a blast, made friends, and learned to ski with the ski school. The staff were incredibly helpful, making sure we felt welcome and supported despite the language difference. The property is a family paradise: the indoor play area, kids’ club with fun activities, and evening programs kept the children entertained all day. The kids’ club even picked them up from ski school, which was so convenient. Our rooms were cozy, spotless, and full of thoughtful touches—like little stools in the bathroom for the kids. The location is perfect, within walking distance of ski school and the slopes. Meals were delicious, and the staff were warm, friendly, and attentive. Every detail, from skiing to family activities, made this an unforgettable trip. We can’t recommend Gut Wenghof highly enough for families looking for a fun, welcoming European ski getaway!
We are very disappointed whit this hotel. Let me tell you why. We traveled for almost 5 hours and since we knew we would be late for dinner, we called the hotel, said we would be late for dinner and asked them to leave us something for dinner because we have children with us, and they said "ja, natürlich". But non of that happened!! When we got to the reception, the gentleman who was there said he didn´t know about that deal. No one showed any understanding, no one cared. We paid around 1450€ for two nights all inclusive, and when we asked for pool robes, they shamelessly charged us 5 € each! And of course you don´t get disposable slippers in the room. Dinner lasts until 9:30PM, we all (our friends and their children) are sitting at the table, a gentleman comes at 9:29PM to inform us that dinner lasts until 9:30PM so that we stick to that time!!!! We were all shocked, especially since we have been in the hotel business for over 10 years, and our friend is the owner of tree hotels. We felt cheated and misunderstood, we told that to the lady at the reception when checking out, and the only thing the lady had to say was I`m sorry! This hotel desperately needs humanity first and second flexibility, and of course lower prices, because what they offer cannot be called the service of a 4 star hotel. Good luck!
We had a perfect experience at the Gut Wenghof - Family Resort Werfenweng. From the pool to the food to kids club, and activities nearby, it was all wonderful. They were also super accommodating about our very limited German abilities both throughout the hotel and in the kids club. During our last night, the kids roasted marshmallows by the fire. What fantastic memories! We also celebrated my son's birthday, and they set up a decorated table for him, and brought out a cake with a sparkler on it. Such a nice touch. The food was wonderful too, and the dining room staff were super fast at clearing dishes, and meeting any needs that came up. Super food variety too and loads of included drinks. A perfect holiday. Thank you!!
What a magical place, surrounded by mountains in a quaint little town. We enjoyed our stay so much at Gut Wenghof. The resort is perfect for those with families. Plenty of activities for the children and knowing that the kids are welcome in such a beautiful place felt so nice. The food was spectacular with so many options all day for our family. Having 2 toddlers, the room was so spacious and had all the amenities and touches that make vacations away from home enjoyable. We had the 2 bedroom family room and it was nice to have a separate room for nap times while we enjoyed our patio area. The staff were more than helpful, always willing to help you find what you need and being very attentive to all their guests. It was also a nice perk to be able to enjoy rides on the gondola across the road included with our stay. The views will forever be in my mind. I would highly recommend Gut Wenghof, the ease of getting there, the location and surroundings and the amazing atmosphere of the resort…you honestly can’t ask for a better place!
