Beautiful Grounds, But Our Holiday Was Ruined by Serious illness - food/water contamination at hotel
We stayed at this hotel in early August as a family of four — two adults and two teenagers. I am writing this review because I feel a duty to warn other families considering this hotel.
Within two days of arriving, I became violently ill and was admitted to A&E in Turkey, where I was put on two IV drips, had blood tests taken, and was prescribed antibiotics used to treat parasitic infections. Over the following days, my partner also became ill, then my son, and finally the fourth member of our party fell ill on our travel day home. Upon returning to Ireland, I had to attend A&E a second time, where I was formally diagnosed with a parasitic infection, most likely contracted through contaminated food or water. I subsequently had to take a full week off work on return, resulting in more financial loss & stress.
This was not a minor stomach upset. This was a serious medical situation that affected every single member of our party and effectively destroyed what was supposed to be a family holiday we had paid a significant amount of money for.
The grounds of the hotel are genuinely beautiful, and the guest relations manager was responsive when approached however, the response felt surface-level and nothing substantive was done. The food and general service throughout were poor, and our experience with a member of management on our very first night set an uncomfortable tone from the outset.
I am currently pursuing a formal complaint regarding this matter. I would urge any family, particularly those travelling with children, to carefully consider this before booking. The impact of this has gone way beyond financial too as a single mother, my ability to go on a further holiday is greatly affected.
Where do I start, this was our 2nd time here & from the time we got there until our last day it was fantastic, we are also going again in 2028.
* The hotel is cleaned constantly.
* The gardeners are out all hours to keep it looking lovely.
* The bar staff are absolutely amazing, Harkan & the other staff will do anything for you & they look after the guests so well.
* The entertainment staff are fabulous, just to mention a few, Barbie, Pika, Cappuccino, Azra, DJ Aron, they all made our holiday great, we had such a laugh & a great bond with them.
* Guest relations Kelly is amazing, she looked after us so well & helped with any issues we had.
* Laundry service was so quick.
* The pools were fantastic, clean & well looked after.
* The restaurant was clean & so much choice for breakfast, lunch & Dinner.
* The Mexican & Italian a la carte restaurants were lovely, so much food.
* The beach is like glitter & the sea is beautiful.
* Boat trip from the beach was fantastic.
This is a great Hotel & you must visit.
Great location and the grounds are very well maintained with beautiful gardens. Some of the staff are very friendly others just can’t be bothered. Especially the staff at breakfast wondering aimlessly whilst tables or floor needs cleaning. The biggest disappointment was the food. Very poor quality, poor mixture and some of it inedible. Such a shame as this does let the hotel down. The animation team work hard and like to get everyone involved.
Melisa was an absolute delight! She was so attentive and friendly throughout our time in this hotel, making sure we had everything we needed. She really made our dining experience special even when she brings a cup of coffee she is always smiling. We truly appreciate her wonderful service!
The experience was a complete and perfect trip. The whole hotel environment was full of peace and good mood. The hotel staff is extremely friendly and polite and will do their best to make you have a good time and not miss anything. Unlike other hotels in Kusadasi, this hotel is completely flat and suitable for people with small children. The quality of food and drinks was good and the evening programs also entertained both children and parents. Overall, I recommend this hotel to families looking for a relaxing and dreamy vacation by the beautiful Aegean Sea.
The Gulf of Kuşadası (Turkish: Kuşadası Körfezi) is a small gulf and strait in the Aegean Sea, separating the Greek island of Samos from the mainland of Turkey. Kuşadası is a resort town on Turkey's western Aegean coast, on the Gulf of Kuşadası. Samos in Greece borders the Gulf of Kuşadası to the north and east, and the mainland of Turkey borders the Gulf of Kuşadası to the west.
