We had a fantastic stay at Sol Tenerife and wanted to leave a review after seeing so many negative ones, as our experience was completely different.
The staff were amazing from start to finish—friendly, welcoming and always happy to help. The food was incredible, with plenty of choice for all the family and something to suit everyone’s individual tastes.
The hotel was clean, the atmosphere was great, and we thoroughly enjoyed our holiday. We wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again and would definitely recommend it to anyone considering booking. Don’t let some of the negative reviews put you off—we had a wonderful time!
Me and my partner stayed for 7 nights in early July, we had a fab time! The reviews scared us initially, but the hotel itself was clean, well staffed and very pleasant. It was an old hotel, but that's what you pay for, not 5 star luxury. The food was lovely, plenty of choice and a variety of different cuisines each night (Mexican, Italian, sushi, pizzas and pastas with a wide array of sides and starters). We asked for a quiet room away from the strip and considering we came away during the world Cup, I slept well every night. We booked excursions from reception which were fab, up the volcano teide and Siam park (definitely worth the money). The area was roudy, but we never had any trouble with the locals or anyone, there are stress sellers everywhere but again they don't bother you and it feels like a safe enough area to walk around in the evening. I recommend PJ's bar which is 2 minutes walk, a lovely welcoming environment to sit and watch the football, with good prices too. Overall, bring an extension cable and you'll have a good holiday here, especially in the 3 pools! We managed to get sunbeds around 4pm every day as people started to leave for the evening, but it does get very busy with towels left all day- the only downside. However, for a whole day you can rent sun loungers on the beach 1 minute away for only 6 Euro per person ( bring flip flops as the sand gets very hot). It was fab!

Unfortunately, our stay at Sol by Meliá was very disappointing.
There was a strong smell of cigarette smoke in our room from the moment we arrived. I understand that people smoke outside, but I don't expect a hotel room to smell of cigarettes. The air conditioning was also broken on our first day, so after a long, hot flight we had to wait in a warm room while it was being repaired.
Finding a sunbed by the pool was almost impossible. If you were lucky, you might get a chair. It felt like we were spectators watching everyone else enjoy their holiday instead of relaxing and enjoying our own.
The room felt very dated, and the breakfast was disappointing. The selection was limited, the food lacked flavour, and the breakfast area felt uninviting and did little to make you look forward to the start of the day.
In our opinion, this hotel is much better suited to people looking for nightlife and parties than families seeking a relaxing holiday.
The staff were polite, friendly, and always did their best to help us, which we truly appreciated.
Unfortunately, despite the good location and the excellent staff, the overall experience did not meet our expectations, and we would not choose to stay here again.
We had a wonderful stay at Sol Tenerife and were very impressed with the hotel.
We originally booked a standard room, but as a lovely birthday surprise, the hotel upgraded us to a room on the 10th floor with a fantastic front sea view. It was absolutely beautiful. We also received a bottle of champagne for my birthday, which was a very thoughtful touch.
The staff were excellent, friendly and helpful throughout our stay. Our room was cleaned every day and was always spotless.
The food was very good, with plenty of variety, and there was also a good choice of drinks. We were on half board, and I was pleasantly surprised that drinks with dinner were included, including wine, beer and soft drinks. This is not always the case in other hotels.
The only reason I have given 4 stars rather than 5 is the loud music from the surrounding bars and clubs, which can continue until around 4am. However, this is clearly connected to the hotel's location and is something you are aware of when booking. We knew exactly where we were staying, so for us it wasn't a major issue. If you want complete silence at night, this probably isn't the right location for you. But if you know what to expect, it's absolutely fine.
Overall, a fantastic hotel, wonderful staff, great food and an amazing ocean view. We really enjoyed our stay and would happily return. ❤️
my first holiday abroad, so don't have much experience to base it on! hotel was adequate - not luxury, but it did the job. we were on the far left side of A block and the noise from las veronicas strip was moderate. I've heard the hotel is going to be undergoing renovations and refurbs so not going to comment too much on the decor and furnishings. cleanliness was adequate - could be better, but could be MUCH worse. staff were all lovely and went above and beyond to help us - special mention to one of the ladies who was hosting the all-inclusive dinner buffet, unfortunately didn't get her name but she had curly hair and wore reading glasses! pools were good, could be more immersive in terms of fountains/water features/slides etc, but it was perfectly fine. entertainment wasn't great, even just hosting a karaoke or talent show for the residents would add so much! food was impeccable, all in all we would definitely stay again, and look forward to seeing what the hotel has in store for the future!
