We stayed at this hotel from August 11th to August 18th. It was our first time staying at an all-inclusive hotel in Turkey, and the hotel staff completely ruined our stay. We were exhausted when we checked in at 9 PM on August 11th after a full day of travel. Upon arrival, we were given a single sandwich and a half-rotten peach, as we hadn't had time for dinner after the journey. It was already dark in Kemer at this time, so when we checked into our room, we didn't turn on the full lights, looked around, and then went for a walk to freshen up after the journey and find some decent food. Back at the hotel, we went to our room, took a shower, and my friend said, "Let's watch what's on TV." When we turned on the TV, we discovered it was broken (we hadn't noticed any damage to the TV when we checked in; it was dark, and the screen was pitch black, even with full lighting. The display panel was damaged). It was already around 11 PM. Again, we were tired. I immediately took a photo of the TV, and we decided to go to reception in the morning and report it.
In the morning, we went to reception and reported the situation, showing the photo and the time it was taken. A short while later, we were called back to reception and told that we'd allegedly broken the TV and owed $150 for the damage. We called our guide and called the travel agency's hotline. We waited all day for a response, but no one was able to help us. That evening, we were called back to reception, where another employee named Ali was already there. He started demanding we pay for the TV in a commanding tone, didn't answer questions, and threatened to evict us, using the phrase "What do you expect? Welcome to Turkey." Only after we agreed to pay, as he'd already reduced me to tears and the travel agency hadn't helped in any way, did he begin to apologize sweetly. And this all happened on our very first day of vacation... The entire reception staff acted very strangely, as if they were doing us a favor. Incidentally, they removed the broken TV, but didn't replace it, so we spent the entire vacation without a TV...
The room was also quite old, with shabby walls. The bathroom door was barely closing, the handle was barely hanging, and getting out of the bathroom required considerable effort. The shower stall didn't even close, there wasn't even a door, which meant a constant stream of water was collecting in the bathroom. The balcony door also didn't close properly. All the furniture was shabby. Even the door threshold was falling off.
For the entire seven days, we were fed only chicken, potatoes, pasta, and tomato and cucumber salads. The selection was quite limited, and by the last few days, I had no desire to eat this food. Furthermore, there was always a line in the dining area, with so many people crowding in, it was impossible to get food. Inside, there was never enough space; tables were poorly cleared, crumbs were everywhere, and cutlery was missing.
The beach was also cramped; it was impossible to find free sun loungers. Many of the sun loungers were broken, and the designated swimming area was very small and crowded.
The room also lacked soundproofing; you could hear your neighbors, but most of all, you could hear what was going on outside. We were woken up several times a night by the noise of cars and people, even though all the windows and doors were closed.
The entertainment program was varied, but the songs were the same every night, the same songs played during the holiday as they had been playing at other hotels 10 years ago... but the animation team really tried to make the holiday interesting, and we're very grateful for that!
When going on this type of vacation, the hotel plays a huge role. In our case, the hotel was a real letdown. We also learned from the guide that the hotel had lost one star in mid-summer and was now considered a three-star.
I don't recommend this place.
Excellent stay from start to finish. The staff were welcoming and attentive, the room was clean and comfortable, and everything was well organized. The service was consistently professional and made the experience especially enjoyable. Would stay here again and highly recommend it.
I would like to thank the hotel management for the excellent service and kind treatment, and especially thank the employee
(Mehmet Arab )✅for his hard work and great effort. He was very cooperative, respectful, and worked with care and a smile all the time. His presence made the stay comfortable and special. Thank you for your professionalism and wonderful manners.
Annonymous account to leave this. My mum just came back from here in tears.
She paid extra to leave early because of it
She went in the hotel and was told her suitcase made too much noise. She is disabled and they made her take the stairs. The room was filthy. The shower had kids handprints all over it, you could see eachother showering. The floors were dusty.
She put her towel on the seat and come down to find her towel and bags in the pool and a russian family laughing at her.
She wasn't allowed to order more than 2 drinks but russian families can order 6+ they refused to let her take a drinks tray and smacked it out her hand telling her no.
She went out to the street and again her, her friend and friends daughter were bashed out the way by Russians and told to move. The daughter was injured by this and the staff did nothing.
She went to get food and if she took the last item the staff take it off her plate and put it back. Her friend was bashed into and food went all down her. Glasses were dirty and they got ulcers from the glasses and cold sores they will be going to the doctor this week. Her friend went to see the doctor there and she was charged £7 and all she did was put iodine on it. The food gave them food poisoning. Food wasn't covered properly so there were lots of flies. It was a crammed dinner hall. While they were eating a cat sprayed on the walls next to them.
First 3 nights they ate on the balcony and then the 4th night they were screamed at for eating there and dragged off.
She saw people have their plates taken away whilst they were eating because they took too long.
Another family went out in a buggy and it flipped, they got covered in petrol. They got taken to the nurse and just had iodine put on them.
They purposely put english and Norwegian together for the football and refused to pick them up early because they felt unsafe.
She felt harassed by the massage guy who was forcing her to dance with him and made her kiss him. He wouldn't leave her alone when she said no multiple times.
They were trying to find the market and were given wrong directions and ended up walking 1.5hrs in 42c and got heatstroke. Where she did end up she got spat on.
The rep tried to charge them £75 each for the excursions and then dropped to £30 after they said no.
The guy doing the entertainment got people to play volleyball he was so rough that he was told he can't play anymore.
They played darts by the pool and 30 seconds after tlshe got up the dart landed in her seat. she didn't feel safe at all here. It was so cramped. So pushy and rude.
There were some nice staff members of course but she said majority were very rude.
A venomous snake came in and the rep used her flip flop to kill the snake by beating it to death. She couldn't take her flip flops back due to it being covered in blood.
We had a wonderful stay at Tu Casa Gelidonya Hotel. The rooms were clean and comfortable, the staff were very friendly and always ready to help. The food was delicious with plenty of variety, and the location near the beach made everything even more enjoyable. The pool area was also great for relaxing. It’s definitely a hotel I would recommend to families and couples alike, and I’d love to come back again
