A quiet and picturesque location where you can truly feel at peace, surrounded by the sea and the forest. I really loved the concept of the hotel, and I think this is something they could emphasize even more.
There is no loud music by the pool during the day and only a minimal amount of animation, which is exactly what made us choose this hotel in the first place. I also loved that there are sun loungers placed on the grass, where you can escape the sun during the day and quietly read a book. The pier is also very well maintained, and it is very convenient for jumping into the sea and swimming.
The food was quite good overall, especially the breakfasts. However, the biggest disappointment was the à la carte Maja Seafood restaurant, where the food was not simply unpleasant — we were actually served a spoiled product. The shrimp were extremely overcooked, while the octopus tasted frozen and dried out, literally falling apart in pieces.
The service also needs some improvement. We were staying in a room for three people, but the housekeeping staff would bring only two towels every day, so we constantly had to call and remind them that there were three of us in the room.
Overall, the hotel still needs a few small improvements, but we really enjoyed our stay. This is actually the first hotel on the Turkish coast that we genuinely loved. I wish the team the best of luck, and I really hope the hotel keeps its peaceful atmosphere and continues to focus on relaxation, privacy, and being surrounded by nature.
our holiday was peaceful and very enjoyable. the staffs attentiveness and friendliness were excellent and their communication with guests was super. our children had a great time at the kids fest carnival and there were evening shows every night in the amphitheater. i must thank the manager mr Ali. I see him always working and solving all the guests problems. my wife had lot of fun playing volleyball and we left very happy. thank you all so much and we hope to see you again
This resort is a mixed bag.
First of all, Balmy Foresta is considerably older and more dated than the polished photos on the website suggest. The renovations of the “villas” appear to have been done rather hastily and without much attention to detail. During our stay, we noticed:
- patchy silicone and paintwork in the bathroom;
- no hooks for towels;
- a lamp missing its lightbulb on arrival;
- miniature shampoo bottles that were only half full;
- a loose decorative cabinet door covering the fridge; and
- a balcony that looked as though it had not seen a broom in quite some time.
None of these is a major issue in isolation, but together they give the accommodation a rather poorly finished and insufficiently checked feel.
We did flag some safety concerns around the lifeguards, which are non-negotiable for families with small children.
There are positives. The common areas are lush, green and generally well maintained, and the hotel's location is genuinely breathtaking. The children's activities throughout the day are fun, creative and well suited to roughly ages 3–10. There is, however, more screen time than I would personally expect from a kids' programme—including films such as K-Pop Demon Hunters—and the indoor children's area had a noticeable urine smell during our stay.
Overall, Balmy Foresta works best if what you want is a very uncomplicated family holiday where you can switch off, let the children enjoy the activities, spend time by the pool and appreciate the beautiful surroundings. There is absolutely nothing wrong with wanting exactly that from a holiday.
However, I would not come here expecting an exclusive or particularly polished resort experience. Attention to detail, consistency of service, cleanliness and proactive hospitality are simply not at the level that the website and presentation of the property might lead you to expect.
Great, but not amazing
Balmy Foresta is a beautiful hotel and overall we had a good stay, but that does not mean everything was perfect. Unfortunately, there were several issues that affected our holiday experience.
The hotel itself is stunning and surrounded by beautiful nature. There is something for everyone – water slides, swimming pools, a kids club and a nice beach with amazing beach wooden tent. In terms of facilities, the hotel is really impressive.
However, I felt that there seemed to be more managers than actual staff, when it should probably be the other way around. This was especially noticeable in the restaurant. There often did not seem to be enough employees, and the service appeared poorly organized. Food leftovers could be seen on the floor, tables were left uncleared for a long time, and new guests had to wait before tables were cleaned and reset.
Another disappointment was the animation team. The staff was friendly but spoke to the children almost exclusively in Russian, without much consideration for guests from other countries. For an international hotel, this was quite surprising.
The biggest issue, however, was our check-out experience and the attitude of some employees. The night receptionist (with tattoos on his left hand )at the reception desk was unfriendly and unwilling to help. At around 3 a.m., we informed him that there was nobody in the night restaurant. His response was simply that we should order food via the QR code. The problem was that the QR code only displayed the menu and did not allow any orders to be placed. When I returned to reception to explain this, he showed no interest in dealing with the situation and sent a porter with me to the restaurant. The porter eventually managed to call a waiter from the kitchen, but he was also extremely rude and could not speak English.
I would also like to mention that not all of the staff fell short of expectations. There were some employees who provided truly outstanding customer service. In particular, the gentleman with glasses at the main bar was always friendly, professional and welcoming. I would also like to recognize the dark-haired lady whom I encountered in different areas around the bars throughout the hotel. She was constantly working hard and always had a positive attitude. Unfortunately, I do not know their names, but they certainly deserve recognition for their excellent service.
The rooms themselves were clean, but they are starting to look outdated and would definitely benefit from a refresh. We also experienced several maintenance issues: the TV was not working properly, there were no bathrobes in the room, and the safe was out of order as well.
This is a real shame because the hotel itself has huge potential and offers excellent facilities in a wonderful setting. Unfortunately, the lack of staff, poor organization and the attitude of some employees prevented our stay from being as enjoyable as it could have been.
We had an amazing stay! Everything was perfect from the beautiful hotel grounds and spotless rooms to the delicious food and excellent service. The staff were always friendly and welcoming. There were plenty of activities throughout the day and fantastic entertainment every evening. We can’t wait to come back!
Especially the lovely Aishat❤️
