The hotel has a really nice African theme and is in a great location, just a short walk from the beach. The food and drinks were good, and overall we were happy with the All Inclusive.
There was also some good evening entertainment, which we enjoyed and helped make the evenings more enjoyable.
The pool area was okay, although the water was a little on the cold side. The main water slides were a big disappointment. They felt quite dangerous, and our young daughter was too small to use them, which was especially disappointing as the water facilities were one of the reasons we chose the hotel.
Our room was okay, but not having a balcony was a big negative. On a family holiday with wet swimming costumes and towels, having some outside space would have made a big difference.
Reception was probably the weakest part of the hotel. When we arrived, the hotel car park was full and the staff weren't helpful in finding or suggesting somewhere else for us to park. When we were leaving, they also seemed to have difficulty sorting out the refunds for the towels and iron we'd borrowed, making checkout more frustrating than it needed to be.
There were definitely positives — particularly the African theme, food and drinks, evening entertainment and location near the beach — but there were too many negatives for us. We enjoyed our holiday overall, but we wouldn't return to this hotel.
We stayed at Magic Rock Gardens Hotel for the first time, and it was a fantastic holiday!
We chose the All-Inclusive package, and both the food and drinks were very good. We were pleasantly surprised by the quality of the alcoholic beverages, including wines from well-known wineries.
The hotel offers an excellent entertainment program for children. Our daughter especially loved the mini disco every evening. The staff were all very friendly and helpful, especially Carl, who is an incredibly positive and caring person. He really made our stay even more enjoyable.
Every evening there was a different show for both children and adults. We especially enjoyed the Loro Show with animals. Our daughter loves animals, so having the opportunity to see them up close and interact with the beautiful colorful parrots, snakes, and turtles was an unforgettable experience.
Unfortunately, our holiday has come to an end, but the wonderful memories and positive emotions will stay with us for a long time.
Thank you to the entire Magic Rock Gardens team! We will definitely recommend your hotel and hope to come back again.
We left after 1 night (using the 24h cancellation form at reception). This is not 4 stars, and not worth the € 350 a night.
- If the parking area is full, you’re on your own.
- Check-in lasted an hour. Somehow.
- They don’t have trolleys, so good luck carrying all your bags to your room yourself.
- Our kids and us were given rooms 3 floors apart.
- The elevators are a mess and take forever.
- The rooms are super hot when you first get in, so it’ll take hours for it to be OK with the A/C on full.
- It is hot everywhere in the hotel.
- No fridge in the room (to keep meds).
- They dare to charge a daily € 3 to use the in-room safe?!
- Want a different pillow? € 2 per day!
- The first four water coolers I tried in the halls were all empty. The bar on the 12th floor also had no water. Then I gave up.
- The pool closes at 20:00 :(
- WiFi is super slow and unstable.
- Shows may or may not take place; the schedule in the app is wrong.
- There’s a line to get into the restaurant for breakfast. Food’s hit or miss.
This is a nice clean hotel with very friendly staff. The food is not good here, looks nice but alot of it is under cooked and not very nice at all and thats not being fussy if you can live on chips, bread & salad you"ll be ok here. Drinks are all known brands which they are not shy at over pouring large meadures so for all the big drinkers & party peeps this will keep you happy. The Hotel is at the top of a very steep hill so I would"nt recommend this hotel for prams, disabled or anyone with breathing or walking difficulties as it really dies take it out of you on plus side the beach is 5mins at the bottom of this hill with everything from supermarkers,McDonalds, Burger King to KFC just along the road about 10min walk xxc
Had a great week at this hotel. Was apprehensive about booking after reading some of the negative reviews. However I honestly cannot fault it. Spotless clean, friendly and helpful staff and nice food. You need to be on the ball at 10am to get a decent space at the pool. There's a nice rooftop bar with loungers and tables with great views over Benidorm for adults only as well. The air-con was a bit noisy in the room that was the one small negative but nothing major. Will definitely stay again in future.
