How many stars does Arbatax Park Resort – Telis have?
Two years at Arbatax Park — Nature - this is the rarest luxury!
It is its biodiversity, landscape and sense of place — the feeling that the resort exists within nature rather than nature being designed around the resort.
The service is excellent, the restaurants are very good, and the children’s programme is outstanding. But what makes us want to return is something much harder to create: identity.
That is why, after two years, our strongest wish is also a simple one:
Please protect what you already have!
We have now spent our holidays at Arbatax Eco Resort in Cottage suits for the second consecutive year, which gives us a rare opportunity to observe not only the resort, but how it evolves.
Our experience remains very positive!
Thanks to a remarkably consistent team, with most of the staff remaining unchanged since last year — a reassuring sign of stability and healthy development.
We hope that future development will improve the guest experience without turning this extraordinary place into another perfectly engineered commercial resort. The wildness, the Mediterranean landscape, the biodiversity, the space and even its slightly imperfect, organic character are not things to be “optimised” — they are the essence of Arbatax Park.
In a world where luxury resorts increasingly look alike, authenticity and nature are the rarest luxury.
For us, this is what makes Arbatax Park a truly deserving candidate for Best Eco Resort in the World 2026.
Not because it is perfect, but because it has something genuinely rare — a soul worth preserving.
Overall great stay. Hotel rooms are very nice with modern bathrooms. Great layout of resort with everyone nicely spread out
Breakfast was a disaster (to the point of us not bothering to go). Took over 20 mins to line for a coffee. No glasses or cutlery available and had to wait. Had to clear our own tables to manage to sit down
Majority of staff over the resort seemed new and they didn’t have much knowledge of the job
Everyone was friendly though
Loved how the sun loungers were spread nicely over the resort making it feel spacious and giving lots of different options
Would come back
I would not return to this hotel.
We arrived at the resort on 8 July 2026. Our first disappointment came immediately upon arrival. After unloading our luggage, we had to drive the car to a remote parking area, wait around 10 minutes for the hotel shuttle, and then wait another 30 minutes to check in at reception. Even though three reception desks were open, the entire check-in process took almost one hour. In all my years of travelling, I have never experienced such a long hotel check-in.
On the evening of 8 July, I left my Armani Exchange swimming shorts (worth approximately €100) to dry overnight in the designated drying area outside room 602. This is exactly the kind of place where guests naturally expect their personal belongings to be safe.
On the morning of 9 July, the swimming shorts were gone.
Before leaving the hotel, I thoroughly searched our room and all of our luggage several times. I then immediately reported the incident to the reception desk and, later that same day, sent the hotel an email with photographs of the missing shorts.
A few days later, I received a reply from the Guest Relations team informing me that the hotel management had been notified, that a thorough investigation was underway, and that I would be personally informed of the outcome.
That never happened.
After that, I repeatedly contacted the hotel by email, asking for the results of the investigation and a proposed solution. I sent several follow-up emails, including a final letter to the hotel management requesting compensation.
None of those messages received any response.
What disappointed me the most was not the loss of my swimming shorts, but the hotel's attitude. I was not asking for anything unreasonable. I simply expected the hotel to do what it had promised: investigate the incident and inform me of the outcome. Neither ever happened.
To be fair, I have to say that the resort itself is beautiful, the breakfast was excellent, and the beach area was very enjoyable.
Unfortunately, you only discover the true quality of a hotel when something goes wrong. In my case, the management promised an investigation but then chose silence instead of providing any explanation or solution, completely ignoring my repeated attempts to communicate.
I strongly advise future guests to keep a close eye on their personal belongings while staying at this resort. If something goes missing, my experience is that the hotel will promise an investigation but then stop communicating altogether, providing neither an outcome nor any resolution. This approach by the hotel's management is the main reason why I cannot recommend staying here.
UPDATE (after the hotel's public response)
The hotel has now responded publicly to my review.
Unfortunately, this response does not reflect my actual experience.
The hotel states that its staff is always available to assist guests and that my case was investigated. However, after the initial email from Guest Relations promising a thorough investigation, I sent several follow-up emails, a formal request for compensation, and even contacted the hotel via Facebook Messenger.
None of these messages received any response.
The hotel only replied publicly three days after my review was published.
I fully understand that not every lost item can be recovered. My disappointment is not that my swimming shorts were never found, but that the hotel stopped communicating despite repeatedly promising to keep me informed.
The same applies to the explanation regarding the check-in. During the same holiday, we stayed at several other hotels in Sardinia, all during the peak season. None of them came close to the almost one-hour check-in we experienced at this resort.
My review is not about a pair of swimming shorts. It is about how the hotel communicates with its guests when something goes wrong. Unfortunately, my experience was completely different from what the hotel describes in its public response.
This was one of the worst hotel experiences.
If you arrive late at night, be prepared for a disastrous level of service. The transportation to the rooms is chaotic and poorly managed—worse than what you would expect from the worst roadside inn. After a long journey, the last thing guests need is confusion, delays, and complete indifference.
The property is also poorly maintained. Many areas looked dirty and neglected, which is simply unacceptable for a resort that claims to offer a premium experience. Even the entrance gate was a problem: the remote control didn’t work, and staff struggled just to let guests in. It was embarrassing to watch.
Communication is another major issue. Very few staff members are able to communicate fluently in more than one language, making even simple requests unnecessarily difficult for international guests.
Pricing is equally disappointing. We discovered that Booking.com was charging roughly twice the price offered on the hotel’s own website. While pricing policies may vary, this left us feeling misled and with no explanation from the hotel.
The biggest problem, however, is not the facilities or the price—it’s the complete lack of customer service. There seems to be no understanding of what it means to welcome, assist, or care for guests. Instead of feeling valued, we felt ignored and poorly treated throughout our stay.
I would not recommend this hotel to anyone expecting hospitality, professionalism, or even basic respect for its guests.
Arbatax has genuine potential, the location is exceptional and the natural beauty is second to none. That said, it’s a long way off of reaching that potential and here’s why; arriving in 38°C and 71% humidity, waiting more than 45 minutes to check in was not the optimal start to my vacation. Shortly thereafter I went to the hotel bar and spent more than 45 minutes trying to get my first spritz of the vacation, despite there only being one person ahead of me, it turns out that the Wi-Fi is so intermittent that it’s almost impossible to pay by Apple Pay or by card in the resort, this, of course, bleeds into the fact that there is no way to work here remotely if you’re planning on doing anything productive online whilst enjoying your stay.
The beaches are exceptional, however, 95% of the guests seem to wake up at 6 AM to reserve their favourite spot l, so you’re left fighting for the scraps at around 10 AM if you plan to enjoy your breakfast.
My three year-old enjoyed the environment, but struggled to attend the kids camp every day given how uninteresting the itinerary for the kids is, Wednesday specifically is reserved for playing Nintendo switch in the mornings.
As the management changes hands there is a sense of confusion and frustration amongst the staff. There are also many frictions points (as mentioned above) that I hope will improve with the change in management, but time will tell.
Cala Goloritzè is a beach that is located in the town of Baunei, in the southern part of the Gulf of Orosei, in Ogliastra, Sardinia. The beach, one of the most evocative of Sardinia, was created by a landslide in 1962; it is famous for its high pinnacle of 143 meters above the cove. Another feature of the beach is the natural arch that opens on the right side of the bay.

The nuraghe Serbissi is a nuragic complex dating back to 18th-10th century BC. It is located in the municipality of Osini in Ogliastra, Italy.
