We had a fantastic family holiday at Sunny Dubrovnik by Valamar and would happily return. After arriving very late (around 11 p.m.), we were genuinely touched to find that dinner had been prepared for us. It was such a thoughtful gesture after a long day of travelling. The staff also quickly arranged a beautiful wooden baby cot with a comfortable mattress – honestly the best hotel baby cot we’ve ever had. The food was excellent, and having snacks available throughout the day made travelling with a toddler so much easier. We never had to worry about finding something for our daughter to eat, which allowed us to truly relax. The entire team was incredibly friendly, welcoming and always happy to help. Maro World was a wonderful surprise and our daughter really enjoyed it. If I could suggest a few improvements, I would love to see more shaded areas around the pool, especially for families with young children, as well as a small shallow splash pool for toddlers. These additions would make an already great family hotel even better. Thank you to the whole team for making us feel so welcome. We are already planning our next visit to Sunny Dubrovnik by Valamar!
The Sunny Dubrovnik is a great hotel, we just stayed there for a weeks get away. The vibe is casual and relaxed, for example, you don't have to get super dressed up for dinner etc. The hotel was brilliantly clean, the staff were really friendly and helpful. The absolute gem of this hotel is the pool, there was never any trouble getting a sunbed or space to relax, if you wanted quiet you can find it and there is plenty for the kids etc. Getting into Dubrovnik was super easy with the number 6 bus, the bus stop is a 100m away and takes you directly to the old town city gates. Would definitely stay again and recommend for a relaxed stay.
This is our second time at Sunny Valamar and we’ve had another great experience. The rooms fit the 3 star rating, they are compact and functional with basic facilities - nothing to write home about. The shower is ok, bed ok, pillows are average. They now have a TV and mini fridge in the room - a big bonus from our last trip. Our room didn’t have a balcony which was ok as we had a two year old but otherwise this would have been a little disappointing. The rest of the hotel is not deserving of a 3 star rating however. It’s fantastic. They have now changed the whole hotel to all inclusive and the value for money this provides is incredible. The food and drinks on offer for all inclusive at this price are excellent. The staff are brilliant and the grounds and pool facilities are perfect for families. What makes this property stand out is the attention to detail for children. The kids area, Maroworld, is a kids haven of entertainment from babies right through to teens. It’s what kids dream of on holiday and both our 9 year old and 2 year old had a brilliant holiday thanks to Sunny & Maroworld. We’ll definitely be returning again one day to this excellent hotel that really did feel a little bit like home when we came back through the doors. Thanks Sunny & all the amazing staff ❤️
The hotel itself was exceptional! The food, location, facilities, and overall experience were wonderful, and I would absolutely recommend staying here. However, I do not recommend booking through Agoda. I discovered that Agoda charged me over €500 more than the price offered directly through the hotel. Unfortunately, Agoda was unwilling to make things right despite the significant price difference. My recommendation: book directly with the hotel rather than through a third-party booking site. The hotel is fantastic, but my experience with Agoda was extremely disappointing.
We had a fantastic stay at Sunny Valamar and would highly recommend it to families visiting Dubrovnik. Our experience started off with some challenges on the day of check-in, but Luciana and Andrej completely turned things around. Their professionalism, care, and willingness to help transformed our stay from what could have been a disappointing experience into an excellent one. They genuinely went above and beyond to ensure we felt welcomed and looked after. A special thank you also goes to Maristela and Tonči from the restaurant team. Their friendly nature, attention to detail, and exceptional customer service made every meal enjoyable. They consistently went above and beyond to make sure our family was comfortable and happy, and their positive attitude truly made our stay memorable. The hotel itself is great, the facilities are excellent, and the staff are a real credit to the property. Overall, a 10/10 experience. Thank you to the entire team for making our family holiday so special. We look forward to returning in the future!
