Centerparcs De Vossemeren was our first Centerparcs experience and it was brilliant in so many ways. The site is beautiful and - even in the height of the summer holidays - felt relatively quiet. Aqua Mundo is amazing. We loved the River Sauvage, the slides, the wave machine, Aquafit, the lazy river. Very easy to spend a good couple of hours here every day. The Market Dome was beautiful. We loved the turtles, fish, parrots and just the general vibe. There were loads of activities that were pretty well priced - something for everyone. We ate at Da Nonna - which wasn't bad for a restaurant at a resort. We also went to the waffle and crepe restaurant, Frites Affaires, and Grand Centraal, all of which were absolutely fine. It was a lovely place to sit and have a beer. Everything closed down by 10pm pretty much which added to the family vibe as no groups drinking into the small hours. We shopped at Jumbo Lommel - 10mins away - for all our self-catering.
Our accommodation absolutely did the job. Certainly basic but we had what we needed and it was cleverly laid out. We were just by the lake and it felt lovely and quiet and secluded despite being next to other guests.
I would say the accommodation could have been a bit cleaner. It was clean enough but there were cobwebs in light fittings and just a bit rough round the edges. Staff were all perfectly nice but not overly friendly. WiFi was pretty patchy at our house. Lots of people ignore the rules around cars and parking - not a major problem but does slightly impact the overall feel.
But these are minor gripes. Overall it's a wonderful place to spend a week as a family.
Our best family holiday so far! Our son is just 2 years old and there were so many fun activities for him. We all loved it! And the food in all of the restaurants was amazing and not so expensive. I highly recommend to get the à la card arrangement and book your dinners in advance, as spaces might be limited if the parc is full.
Great stay at this Belgian center parcs, family of 5, plenty of activities on offer for all ages, everything was clean and well maintained. The staff were all super friendly with the kids, I was somewhat concerned the language barrier may mean we wouldn't be able to do some activities, but I shouldn't have been concerned, everyone seemed to speak English so at no point was it a challenge.
Great location for exploring more of Belgium or Netherlands.
We'll definitely look to return.
We have visited Center Parcs De Vossemeren on many occasions over the years, and it remains one of our favourite Center Parcs sites.
We usually stay in the VIP cottage, which is well appointed, comfortable, and includes a sauna, adding a nice touch of luxury to the stay. One disappointment is that the VIP cottage package used to include a morning delivery of fresh breads or croissants, but this has recently been removed. It feels a little penny-pinching considering the premium price of the accommodation. The cottages can occasionally look a little tired, with the odd knock and scuff from previous occupants, but overall the standard of accommodation is very good. A useful bonus is that the living area comes with a Samsung TV, making it easy to mirror content from your phone or tablet.
The swimming pool is fantastic and ideal for children and teenagers, with plenty to keep them entertained. During our last visit, however, the main water ride, Monkey Splash, was closed, and there did not seem to be much urgency to reopen it, which was disappointing given that it was during the school holidays. That said, the pool remains excellent overall thanks to the other slides and rapids available.
The restaurants are average to good, and I would particularly recommend the Italian restaurant. As many will know, however, both the restaurant prices and supermarket/food market costs are quite expensive.
I would also highly recommend hiring bicycles during your stay—it adds to the fun and makes travelling around the park much quicker and easier between activities and accommodation.
Overall, Center Parcs De Vossemeren offers a great experience and continues to be one of our favourite holiday destinations. A strong 4 stars from us.
It was a fantastic weekend. We had lots of fun on the swimming pool and over attractions.
*However, I'd like to write about the dress code in the swimming pool*
Even though the swimming pool made some signs about clothing policy ( tight fitting swimm wear) in the swimming pool there were women, who were in the water fully covered with extended leggings, dresses like dark curtains. Seeing their "full extended body, neck and head swimming cavarage" next to their husband in "swimming shorts" was a very discomforting feeling for women rights and equality to men .
Otherwise, we were very happy with the park, the brilliant water slides and the tasteful breakfast.
