The hotel is located far from civilization, so you need your own transport to get anywhere. The hotel shuttle goes to Pizzo, but in my opinion, €10 per person for a 15-minute ride is a bit overpriced. The resort covers a large area and has everything you need to spend your entire holiday without leaving. The grounds are very well-maintained, green, and surrounded by plenty of trees, making it really pleasant. In my estimation, 80–90% of the guests are Italians, followed by Germans, Czechs, and Poles. The staff mostly speaks Italian; English can be hit-or-miss depending on who you talk to. The Deluxe rooms (the renovated ones) are really good—spacious, with comfortable beds, and cleaned daily. The only major downside is the noise; the soundproofing is practically non-existent, so you hear people behind the walls, upstairs, and in the hallway. We stayed on the ground floor, but I’d recommend asking for an upper-floor room. On the ground floor, you hear everyone coming and going morning and night, so upstairs is likely much quieter. The food was tasty. The selection felt both plentiful and somewhat limited at the same time, but everyone will find something for themselves. It's typically Italian, though it lacked a few kid-friendly options like pancakes. Overall, delicious and enjoyable, though the main restaurant can get quite chaotic and noisy during peak hours, and finding a free table sometimes takes a moment. As for daytime animations, they mostly took place near the sports fields, so unless you actively walked over there, you wouldn't even know what was happening. Our kids didn't participate in anything during the entire stay because there was no clear information on where or when activities took place. At the pool, the main options were things like Aqua Gym—there was a clear lack of pool games aimed at children, like Water Polo. The pool bottom itself really needs better cleaning—it was quite dirty. Considering they use robotic mowers for the lawns all over the grounds, it’s a shame they don’t use pool-cleaning robots for the bottom as well. Also, keep in mind that pool towels require a deposit/fee, and people tend to reserve sunbeds with towels very early in the morning. The evening shows in the amphitheater started with something for kids, followed by entertainment for all ages, but honestly, they were very talk-heavy, so we rarely stayed until the end—especially if you don’t speak Italian. The beach is a pleasant 10-minute walk through a nice pine forest. The path is paved and shaded, which is great if you're walking with a stroller. Aside from the bar, there isn't much going on there and no organized guest activities. It's a pebbly beach (and gets hot fast), but you don't necessarily need water shoes. Unfortunately, I have to confirm what other reviewers mentioned about the stomach bug. We were hoping to avoid it, but it caught up with us right at the end of our stay. It definitely seems to be a recurring issue at the resort, so it’s worth coming prepared with basic medication just in case.

I had an amazing experience at Falkensteiner Hotel in Calabria. Everything was perfect from the moment we arrived until the day we left. The hotel is beautiful, very clean, and located in a wonderful area close to the sea. The all-inclusive service was excellent with a great variety of delicious food and drinks throughout the day. The staff were incredibly friendly, professional, and always ready to help with a smile. The rooms were comfortable and well maintained, and the atmosphere was relaxing and luxurious. This was one of the best holidays I have ever had in Italy, and I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a perfect vacation in Calabria. I would definitely love to come back again! Thanks for, Salvatore mazzitelli

Very bad experience. Rooms are at 2 star levels. Air condition not working properly. In the “beach bar” you have to wait 20 minutes for a mirelite pizza slice. The only positive is a garden. But you cant sleep in the garden. Salvatore throws you out from the awimming pool at 7:00pm. This is a Falkensteiner hotel What was ordered from Temu.

Dated rooms and poor quality food. The pool area was nice but the water was cloudy, however, the gardens were kepts clean and they looked pretty. Rooms were very dated and the beds and pillows uncomfortable, we went out and bought new pillows and the blankets were the scratchy brown type from the 70's.... The food was ok but on some occasions the quality was just not there and the staff removing plates before you had finished chewing the last mouthful. The cleaning staff left our door open for over an hour with master keys cards left there on two seperate occasions unattended, and the staff in reception couldn't care less. The area a little south of Pizzo is incredibly beautiful though.

I didnt want to leave a review at first i just came here to check if anyone else had similar experience regarding the swimming pool towels. To my surprise there was a review (right below) from some i guess paid influencer so i just want to put the things in order.... Mr.influencer got in his room a welcome bag with beach bag, pool towels and treats on arival.... Unfortunately nothing like that happened for the commoner like me. Towels in the room cannot be used at the pool... When i asked where can i get some i was pointed at the reception, went to the reception and i was offered to either buy a towel or to rent one for 2 euro a day... I agreed and told them to put it on the room... Only possibility is to pay in cash (sounds fishy enough) and leave a 20 euro deposit (sounds double fishy) - asked if there is an atm and atm is back at the pool area... At that point i can go without towel as this really seems scammy. Trust me as a person working in hospitality for almost 20 years i am very tolerant to the local customs but any place i ever worked we tried to make the guest experience smooth - not to be just complainer i will provide several solutions.... If the towels are priced for some reason in an 5* all inclusive hotel you can 1 - raise the price of the stay by those 2 euros a night and provide a towel to everyone (withing your price range i dont think 2 euro extra a day would be a deterent), 2 - if you need the charges and deposits let me charge it to the room (you have all my info, id, cc....) 3 - if this is not possible for whatever reason and you do expect the cash payments just put the atm where its needed.... It was just so surprising beeing at Falkensteiner in Croatia there was plenty of available pool towels everywhere around the pool areas without charges and i did expect the same here... Other couple of points i wanted to touch from Mr.Influencer bellow.... I actually wonder if the staff enjoy local cuisine within the hotel area - looking foward to try the specialty restaurant tomorow but as long as buffet goes i had better meals in crew mess on the cruise liners. Kinda dissapointing knowing we are in Italy where they usualy care about their food ( kinda curious if local pizza is a national treasure as i was surprised with pizza with french fries on top but i understand we tend to mainly german guests here so there...let them get carbs). Not to be just mr bad vacation - the hotel in itself is clean and maintained. Parks, pools and playgrounds are magical and well equipped with plenty of activities available. Great walk through a pine forest to the beach which is also well maintained and clean (definitely by hotel staff). Big kuddos to the staff at Falkyland for the kids - they are very welcoming and our son seems to enjoy the program and company a lot. Receptionists very really nice from the beggining and while checking in the other staff was showing our son around.... It is a really nice hotel with plenty of activities, welcoming staff and chill atmosphere. The situation about the pool towels seems surprising and not sure if am the only one who is bothered and i am only writing this review as i am against the paid influencers leaving reviews with 50 pictures for the guests who would than expect the beach bag and pool towels in their room just to be runned around for cash for 2 euro a day (considering the price of a stay) maybe someone can clarify this so i can better understand... 2 stars are to balance the paid reviews which might misslead other guests... If the experience would be same as mr paid reviewer wrote about bellow its 5 stars as well as i wouldnt have to run around for pool towels (you can keep the sweets and the beach bag - that is extra in my books)... And one more thing i reall like the water bottles provided as it helps with the plastic waste - nice idea....
