I am giving this hotel 2 stars solely because of the behavior of one staff member.
I stayed at this hotel for 7 nights, so my review is based on a full week’s experience rather than a short visit.
On Tuesday, 16 June, at approximately 23:15, I brought a guest to the Rooftop bar. A very polite waiter welcomed us and informed us that we could order drinks and pay directly there.
However, when we went to the bar to place our order, the lady working there was extremely rude. Instead of politely explaining the guest policy, she immediately treated the situation as if I was trying to do something inappropriate and made me feel embarrassed in front of my guest. The way she spoke to us was unprofessional and unacceptable for a 4-star hotel.
Afterwards, I spoke with the gentleman at the reception desk that night. He was polite, professional, and handled the situation respectfully. He explained that the bar is reserved for hotel guests only. That is completely understandable, and I fully respect the hotel’s rules. The problem was never the policy itself, but the way it was communicated by the bar employee.
Apart from this incident, I also feel that the hotel does not fully justify its price. The rooms are showing their age, and the spa facilities were rather disappointing compared to what I would expect from a 4-star hotel.
The receptionist on duty that night deserves credit for his professionalism. Unfortunately, the behavior of the bar employee left such a negative impression that it overshadowed the rest of my stay and is the main reason for this rating.
DATED HOTEL
Paid for an upgraded room with a balcony and sea view, we were taken straight to a basement room with no balcony in a courtyard with a communal pool outside it, with people sitting looking in the window.
The room was dull, boring, but very clean.
DO NOT GO ALL-INCLUSIVE. The food was 99% inedible, plates were dirty, and there were flies on the pudding courses.. WASTE OF MONEY theres better choices out side nearby.
The roof top bar looks great from outside but its not impressive once you are there
1 member of staff 1 waiting on tables service extremley slow , nasty cocktails out of a premade bottle , cheap nasty lager it was not amstel .
Fantastic hotel. The location is truly excellent—just a two-minute walk from the beach (Playa de Ingles) and bus stops. The staff were friendly and attentive. The only downside was the Wi-Fi; it didn't work very well in the room.
Just back from a great week in this hotel.
Great atmosphere ,good room 204,clean, great buffets (sushi night is great),very nice staff all over from reception to cleaning!!.. we loved the hotel and most of all the top terrace ,bar an jacuzi.. 😎. Close to the beach and busses, playa del ingles itself needs a workover (old/scrappy and empty shopping centers) but that's beside the hotel...
Very disappointing.
Despite traveling during high season, the many positive reviews, and the high price (approx. CHF 3,000 for one week in half board), we genuinely thought we had made the right choice. Unfortunately, we were wrong.
From the moment we arrived, the lack of organization was obvious: too few elevators (one out of service for several days), leading to long waiting times. This is unacceptable for a hotel of this supposed standard.
The spa is far from what was promised: cold pools, several facilities out of order, a poorly functioning hammam, and no real control of reservations.
The room is not worthy of a 4-star hotel: unpleasant smell upon arrival, poor cleanliness, damaged bathroom, sloppy finishes, and clearly neglected maintenance. The bedding is acceptable, but the rooms are small and absolutely not worth the price.
The food is disappointing: very basic breakfast, and a tasteless, unremarkable dinner.
👉 Price completely unjustified
👉 Services far below expectations
👉 Not at all worthy of a 4-star hotel
We will not return and absolutely do not recommend this establishment.
