Loved this hotel. Very modern and beautifully decorated. Rooms are very nice and spacious. I have a gluten food allergy and they catered for this really well. Buffet had good signage, plenty of meats, fish and veg options. The bars even stock gluten free beer which is a real bonus. You have to ask the staff for gluten free bread, cakes etc but they had lots of great items: bread, baguettes, croissants, cookies, muffins etc and they were really nice. Would definitely go back and would recommend to others.
We had such a lovely 7 night stay at the RIU Buenavista. It’s perfect for couples or families as there’s something to do for everyone. We particularly loved the options for pools including adults only and a dedicated activity pool. We spent most of our time at the top infinity pool (be mindful of early risers getting the best sunbeds!) But there was always at least some sunbeds free if you go down later. The food was great, lots of variety and we loved the options for the Grill, Japanese and Italian. One improvement would be some themed nights in the main buffet restaurant - there was one day they did a Caesar salad station made fresh in front of you which was very tasty, so more of this would be great (e.g. make your own fajitas or gyros). Would just change it up a bit from the usual meats, potatoes, veg etc but we still found this to be varied enough. The rooms were lovely and spacious, just make sure to bring your own iron if required as these aren’t available. Location wise it’s nicely situated and you can walk to a small beach cove and then up the hill to some small shops and a couple of bars. We didn’t realise until we left that there’s also a large-ish shopping centre within walking distance. For those who prefer to be in the centre of somewhere busy with lots going on around the resort this won’t be for you but we enjoyed it being quieter. The highlight is certainly the white party on a Friday night - the staff put a huge amount of effort into this and it was a fantastic display. We also loved the Freddie mercury tribute act. Overall this is a great all inclusive hotel, and the staff were friendly and accommodating too. It will always hold a special place in our lives as it’s where we babymooned and got engaged. Secomd time we have stayed in this hotel and had a great time. Booked a two bedroom family room which is ideal for us and out teenage daughter. Room was spacious and clean. It would have been nive to have a third chair on the terrace so we could all of sat out at the same time. Food and drink choices were excellent - one vegetarian in the family. Quality was also very good. A number of pools to choose from and also shaded areas around them which was appreciated. We had no issue getting sun loungers. Entertainment is amazing. The White Party is not to be missed (nor is the Neon Party we had last visit). This is a full on professional production of a very high standard and is not your usual hotel disco. All staff were friendly and helpful. Hotel, gardens and pool areas were clean and tidy and maintained well.
A great stay. Helpful friendly staff from reception, dining, housekeeping, bar and entertainment, always a hello and a smile whenever you see or pass someone. The cleanliness and attention detail is brilliant. Our room upgrade was vey nice, great view and quiet. Our only disappointment was our gold member benefit for late check out was not available. Having to wait until the day of check out isn’t great for those that are leaving late.
We spent a week of active vacation at this hotel. As part of my job, I travel and inspect hotels, and over the past six months I have visited around 50 hotels, so here is my honest assessment. As soon as we entered the room, there was a strong smell of dampness. The room itself was clean, except for the curtains, which were noticeably dirty. It is also clear that the hotel is showing its age. However, we only used the room for sleeping, so it didn't significantly affect our stay. The hotel's facilities are excellent. There is a gym, sports courts, six restaurants, five bars, children's pools, and an adults-only pool. In this respect, the hotel definitely met our expectations. The weaker point is the food and restaurant service. The main buffet restaurant offers a rather limited selection of dishes, and many of them were lacking seasoning. As a result, we mostly ate at the themed restaurants (please note that these are buffet restaurants, not à la carte). One of the great advantages of RIU hotels is that you can visit these themed restaurants multiple times during your stay. We tried all three – Asian, Grill, and Italian – and the food was significantly better and tastier than in the main restaurant. Some dishes could still have been better seasoned, but overall I would definitely recommend them. Unfortunately, all of the restaurants seemed to be understaffed. It was quite common for the waiters not to notice us for a while. There were often queues at the bars, but the staff worked efficiently, so the waiting time was never too long. The bartenders were always friendly and welcoming. During our stay, I asked the reception several times if we could enter the restaurant just five minutes before opening time to film marketing content for social media. Unfortunately, the reception staff never even attempted to pass my request on to the management or check whether it would be possible. For that reason, I have to rate their willingness to help quite negatively. I was also disappointed by the parking fee of €9 per night, especially considering that there is free public parking available right in front of the hotel, where you can easily leave your car for the entire week. The beach is about 200 metres from the hotel and consists of a mix of sand and pebbles. On the positive side, there were always plenty of sunbeds and umbrellas available around the pools, and we also enjoyed the evening entertainment programme. I was looking forward to the high standard that RIU hotels are known for, but this property fell slightly short of my expectations. Overall, I would rate it around 3.5 out of 5 stars.
