The hotel has a great location very close to the beach, and the sea water is exceptionally clear.
However, the overall experience was not quite what I expected. The hotel seems to be more focused on organized tour groups, which made it feel less personal for individual travelers. The food was another weak point for me. The variety was rather limited and the quality of the meals was average at best.
The location and the friendly reception staff are definitely positive aspects, but there are several areas where the hotel could improve.
We had a good overall stay at Ibersol Almuñécar. We booked half board, and the breakfast was one of the highlights — the breads and bakery items were especially excellent and tasted genuinely fresh, which was a nice change from the usual frozen pastries served in many hotels. Dinner was also enjoyable, with different themed evenings such as Mexican and Spanish, which added some variety.
There were a few downsides though. Vegetarian options at dinner were very limited, and even the pizzas were not vegetarian, which was disappointing. The room was also not properly cleaned on the first day, indoor pool had a very strong chlorine smell, and the hotel parking felt expensive at around 17 euros per day, although street parking nearby was a cheaper alternative near to 5-6Eur. The balcony view was very nice, and overall it was a pleasant stay, but the room felt warm because cooling had not yet started in April.
I spent with my son and some friends almost 2 weeks there during summer holiday.Hotel is great located in center of Almunecar town. Window view was stunning. Rooms are big with good cleaning service. However the food was disappointing.Talented chief is required badly there.Food variety was ok but taste unacceptable. No flavor. I love soups but I was not able to eat even once as they tasted bad.Spain is famous from so many fresh ingredients so preparing great soup is not an issues. Also pool area is need of renovation as some ceramic pieces were falling down. Big plus of the Ibersol hotel was supermarket and many restaurants, coffee shops and coastal boulevard very close on walking distance. Hotel reception very reliable, staff speaking and understanding well in English.
The resort of almunecar is very nice and clean with cultural history in abundance . Beaches mostly pebbled but lovely clear sea water. The hotel is clean and in a perfect location, my disappointment is the awful food on our all inclusive
My mother and I have just spent a lovely week at this hotel in Almuñécar. It was end of April/beginning of May so the hotel didn't have too many guests which was very comfortable. We absolutely loved our stay! The hotel is big, spacious, has a very interesting and spectacular architecture, amazing glass lifts, fantastic greenery and flowers everywhere. We enjoyed the meals at the restaurant (we had HB so breakfast and dinners): great selection of meats, fish, vegetables, cheeses, fruits etc.
The staff was friendly, welcoming and very flexible. They catered to all our needs. When the shower didn't work properly- it was repaired the very same day. When we needed something- we were brought that after 10min! Super attentive and considerate!
Thank you Ibersol Beach & Spa Hotel! I'd love to come back so hopefully see you again :)
