Beautiful hotel. Best pool and area ever been to. Staff were excellent. Every one of them. Friendly and helpful. Very professional. Hotel Right next to the lovely beach. Amazing at sunset too. Self catering not great in my view. Maybe a few necessities could be available for late arrivals. Only a few restaurants on the promenade but great food. Maybe 1 bar? A beautiful promenade but very sparse and quiet. Get a short bus ride to Los Llanos or tazacorte. Santa cruz is amazing too. You wont be disappointed. Plenty of bus trips to be had. As I say, quiet but beautiful and amazing views. The island is like jurassic Park. Stunning.
Mixed feelings.
Location: great, nice beach nearby, free parking spaces within 3 minutes walk, short walk or 15 minutes drive to good restaurants (nice restaurants near the hotel >>> remember they were rebuilding after the volcanic eruption, so give them some credit!!!).
Room: spacious and clean, the cleaning service do not forget about anything! ... and that's it as far as pros are concerned, CONS: no extra plugs, bathroom designed by a mad hatter - especially the shower, kitchen not equipped even at a basic level, beds very uncomfortable.
Breakfast: 4 stars, not bad quality, not bad choice, super crappy coffee (shame on you!!!), great service from the chef, moderate from the rest of the restaurant staff (they always ignore you), nice check-in service
if you're looking for a place to sleep and a base to explore the island - take, if you're looking for something more elegant, try Level available at the hotel - google it;)
We started of in a ground floor apartment spent 2 days looking at the people's washing .so went for a upgrade with sea view 900euro
Hello, I stayed at these Apartments by Melia with a friend for a week. We had a small apartment - living room with a kitchenette, bedroom and a nice balcony with the ocean view. It was really nice, all clean and in good quality. The kitchenette could use a little bit of equipment enhancement - e.g. electric kettle and coffee mugs, the coffee cups are just too small for me. Great cleaning service, fresh towels, etc.... The hotel itself is also very nice with 2 pools, we were using the one in front, right at the ocean side - it has e beautiful view, especially during the sunset, there is a small bar and nice, chill music played in the background. Staff is very nice and competent. First few days we had issues with our key cards - we had to go back to the reception to validate them each time basically, it was a bit frustrating, but got fixed eventually and we received a small gift and a nice letter, much appreciated. We had the option with breakfast - food was nice, decent selection, including a freshly made omelette station. There is also a small gym available, the equipment will not blow your mind, but it's more than decent if you need some space to workout. Definitely worth recommending and I will come back. I don't understand the previous review, they are completely undeserved.
Music from the hotel bar is audible throughout the whole complex, so bring earplugs. Walls are very thin, so bring earplugs.
Daily cleaning is nice. Rooms are three stars, so nothing too fancy. View is pretty good, but must rooms don't have any.
