We were really looking forward to our stay and deliberately chose a 5-star hotel. Unfortunately, the experience was disappointing from the beginning.
Before arrival:
We contacted the hotel twice by email regarding our room preferences but never received a response. When we called, we were told that no manager was available and that we should simply arrive and, if we did not like the room, request a change on site.
Check-in:
Although we were appropriately dressed, we were reminded of the dress code and looked up and down in a way that felt very dismissive. Ironically, my partner was the only guest at dinner that evening who was visibly following the stated dress code.
Reservations & service:
When I called to ask about a restaurant reservation, I was initially told that none was necessary. When I pointed out that the hotel map clearly states that reservations are required, I was spoken to very aggressively and told that I would have to come to reception personally.
At reception, we were then given an unsolicited explanation of what is included in All Inclusive, despite the fact that we had not booked an All Inclusive package. When I simply asked them to check our booking, the employee visibly rolled her eyes. Our feedback regarding the unpleasant phone call was also not taken seriously.
Restaurant & food:
Our reservation was initially not on the restaurant’s printed list and we were almost turned away despite having confirmation from reception. Once again, we were given explanations about All Inclusive. When we explained that this was not relevant to our booking, the employee reacted very curtly.
The food was unfortunately another major disappointment. Both the breakfast and dinner buffets often looked tired and unappealing rather than fresh. The only genuinely normal meal we had during our stay was at Olive Tree, around a five-minute walk from the hotel.
The breakfast room felt more like a huge canteen than the breakfast area of a 5-star hotel. On our first morning, there was a problem with the sound system, resulting in a continuous, high-pitched noise throughout breakfast. In the evenings, the music was extremely loud, making it difficult to enjoy the atmosphere.
Room:
Unfortunately, the room was also in poor condition. The cable cover at the desk had come loose, and there were yellow stains and what appeared to be someone else’s hair on my pillow. Our room also has a direct view from the main restaurant, despite us having communicated our preferences in advance.
We understand that mistakes can happen. What disappointed us most was the repeated lack of attention, professionalism and willingness to resolve them.
For future guests: please manage your expectations carefully before booking this hotel. In our experience, the 5-star rating does not reflect the level of service, cleanliness, food quality or overall guest experience we encountered. We personally would not return and would strongly recommend considering other options before choosing this property.
We stayed here for a week in August 2026; and we would certainly recommend it. However some improvements are needed.
Positives: we were really happy with the room; very good standard of cleanliness, fresh towels everyday, fabulous room, even better views. No issues with noise in rooms. Excellent air con. Overall friendly staff. We were very pleased with the standard of food. We were also delighted with the gym and free tennis. The beach was a highlight; picturesque and peaceful. As fit, able-bodied people we were able to manage the steep paths and steps without issue but can see how this would be a concern for others. Even in August we had no problems finding sun-beds at all the pools and at the beach. The resort shop is excellent, large bottles of water for a euro. The rooftop bar is a must for atmosphere and evening views. We were impressed that as all inclusive plus customers we got three free reservations at all three of the restaurants. This resort really felt like a retreat; an ideal place if you’re wanting to de-stress and recharge your batteries.
Negatives: occasional strong smell of drains in the room, very unpleasant! Speed and standard of service at bars such as the reception bar and the rooftop bar deteriorated as the week progressed to the point where we abandoned all hope and left one of the bars as it was clear no one was coming. This needs looking at as it’s clearly a theme in many reviews! There is also nowhere cool to sit in the day or before dinner for a nice drink if you don’t want to be at the pool. The reception bar is lacking; poor service, poor air con, no atmosphere, feels like you’re sat in a car park. And when we attempted to sit somewhere cool elsewhere in the resort we were turfed out and told it didn’t open until 6pm. Be aware that the location is very quiet, minimal bars or restaurants close by if you’re wanting to venture out of the resort.
Tips: bring insect repellent spray, and waterproof beach shoes as it’s rocky and pebbly.
What started off a bumpy ride, turned in to an amazing trip all thanks to Mr Nikos - what an incredible man. He truly cares about giving his guests the best experience, this hotel is great because of him, and the fact he goes the extra mile.
Dimitra at The Nest deserves a special shout out too, she has such an amazing energy, she’s so approachable and friendly, and her cocktails were delicious too! Definitely try her Mai Tai’s and Tropical Nights!
All of the staff we’ve encountered have been wonderful too, except one of the receptionist, we reported a few minor issues to her, and she definitely didn’t care and failed to report it to maintenance, I believe her name was Christina. Nonetheless, Mr Nikos swiftly resolved our issues.
The main restaurant has a varied selection of food, we always found something we liked and everything was cooked freshly. The à la carte restaurants are also delish, our faves were Ouranos and Gialynas!
There are 4 outdoor pools and 1 indoor pool, there were always loungers available no matter what time of day. The beach is a 2 minute walk, and it is gorgeous. Head to the supermarket and grab a snorkel and sea shoes are a must.
The spa is privately owned, no relation to the hotel, and if I’m honest it was one of the worst massages I’ve ever had - don’t waste your time.
Don’t be put off by the steep hills of Panorama, definitely book a room there! The rooms are more modern and the views are unreal. There are buggy’s which take you up and down if needed.
We’ll definitely be back!
Excellent stay at Mythos Panorama. Quiet and very clean room, stunning views, and a great pool. Perfect location with small beaches nearby. Extremely kind and helpful staff.
The hotel is nice. Although the lack of cooling systems around the hotel makes the whole experience not so nice.
While at the roof bar at the hotel we were provided a menu looked like a toilet paper. Why??? How disrespectful should be the stuff of this bar while servicing the client this way?
Enjoyed the room, the location.
