We had an excellent family stay at Nana Golden Beach and would happily return. The resort is especially well suited to families with children. Our children loved the water park and slides, the beach, and the wide selection of food and snacks.
The food was varied and enjoyable. Although the restaurants are buffet-style, the staff serve the portions. I really appreciated this approach because it helps reduce unnecessary food waste while still allowing guests to try different dishes.
Our room was spacious, comfortable, modern, and well maintained. The staff were friendly, welcoming, attentive, and especially good with children.
There are a couple of areas that could be improved. It would be nice to have more group activities and for the daily schedule to be advertised more clearly. Also, although the restaurant service was quick, on two occasions I noticed that the drinking glasses had not been cleaned properly—one of them still had a lipstick mark on it. I hope the resort pays closer attention to this.
Overall, we had a wonderful experience and would definitely recommend Nana Golden Beach to families visiting Crete.
Had such a wonderful experience at Nana Golden Beach! The resort is absolutely beautiful, with a lovely beachfront location, well-maintained surroundings, and plenty of facilities to enjoy. From the swimming pools to the variety of restaurants and relaxing seaside views, everything makes it a great place to spend a holiday in Crete.
What makes this place even more special is the hospitality of the staff. Everyone is welcoming and friendly, which really adds to the overall experience.
Also, I met some Filipinos from the service; they were very accommodating and helpful throughout the stay. Oh, and a big shoutout to Angelica from Guest Relations, the sweetest! As a Filipino myself, it was such a pleasant surprise to meet some fellow Filipinos working here in Greece. They were very warm, approachable, and genuinely friendly. It was nice to have that little connection with someone from back home, and Angelica’s stories and her kindness made my visit even more memorable.
Thank you to Angelica and the entire Nana Golden Beach team for the wonderful hospitality! Definitely a place I would recommend to anyone visiting Crete. Would love to come back again someday! ❤️🇵🇭🇬🇷
We’ve had a fantastic experience at Nana Golden Beach Resort and are already thinking about our next visit. The resort has practically everything you need on site, which makes for a very easy and relaxing holiday.
The food has been excellent, with a great variety of options across several restaurants, and there is an extensive choice of drinks available throughout the day. The children’s play areas are also very good, and there are multiple swimming pools to choose from.
There is a well-stocked mini market on site too, and so far we’ve been able to find everything we’ve needed there.
The room is very comfortable and a good size.
Overall, it has been a wonderful stay so far and a fantastic place for a family holiday.
We never did an all-inclusive hotel before, but given this was our first experience, it wasn’t too bad. It’s a bit expensive, but I guess you’re paying for all the food and drinks that you can imagine. Overall, we had a really nice time here and it didn’t feel too crowded. The food was pretty good given that they were serving so many people and the drinks were pretty solid as well. Our son really loved the water park. Staff friendliness was hit or miss.
Whilst we had an enjoyable week here it is not comparable to the luxury five star resorts such as Ikos or those available in parts of Turkey, I can’t agree with those reviews saying the cocktails and food are of a great standard.
The positives were:
Staff were very friendly and helpful
Resort is large and modern
Coast is great for snorkelling (not really much of a beach, just a small man made beach at one end of the resort)
Sports facilities world class if you play tennis, one gym was very good the second smaller gym a bit mediocre, indoor pool is excellent.
Water park was good
Near to a couple of towns, long walk or short taxi ride
Buffet was decent
Air con in rooms was good
The negatives for us were:
Room a bit small (we paid for upgraded room but still felt quite small) and basic. Mini bar was just water and some fizzy drinks and didn’t get cold.
Bathroom not finished well ( shower leaked and got blocked on more than one occasion)
Room door lock broke and safe didn’t work all week (they fixed the door promptly and we couldn’t be bothered to report the safe issue)
Cocktails were very average, branded spirits were used but the mixers were of a very poor quality including some fruit juices coming straight out of the mixer tap. Very disappointing.
Just one beer available at most bars, a second very similar one available at one bar.
Restaurants are always fully booked, we got on the app the day we got there and managed to get three bookings but two for 6.15 and one for 8.45 which weren’t really the times we wanted and we couldn’t choose from all the restaurants as they were not all available.
Restaurants were then very mediocre, the Italian being particularly poor, the pizzas were smothered in way too much cheese and the dough was tasteless. The Greek was better and the steakhouse was ok. Also the restaurants were only ever about half full at most which makes you wonder why they won’t let you book them!
Live music was continually late and performers looked like they didn’t want to be there, advertised for 9:30 and often didn’t start until well after 10pm.
Overall we still enjoyed the week we had but wouldn’t go back and feel that whilst this is advertised by some UK travel agents as luxury five star it really isn’t up to scratch compared to other places we have been to.
