We had a wonderful stay and would highly recommend Sol Tropikal Durres!
From the moment we arrived, we received a warm welcome from the reception team. Special thanks to Mary, Klara, and all the reception staff for their kindness, professionalism, and willingness to help throughout our stay.
The food was excellent, with a great variety of dishes available every day. A big thank you to the chefs and all the food hall staff for their hard work and outstanding service.
A special mention also goes to the room service team for keeping our room spotless, tidy, and comfortable throughout our stay. We always felt that our personal belongings were safe and well respected. Although there was occasionally a language barrier, this never prevented the team from delivering high-quality service. They always greeted us with a warm smile and did their very best to make our stay enjoyable.
The activities team was fantastic and always full of energy. Special recognition goes to Albano and Yacine, whose enthusiasm and dedication made our stay even more enjoyable.
We would also like to acknowledge the swimming pool staff, who work tirelessly every morning to maintain the pool area and ensure the sun loungers and facilities are clean, safe, and ready for guests.
Finally, a huge thank you to the friendly and welcoming bartenders for the wonderful drinks served daily by the beach/pool. Anna, Arber, Geni, and Noah always greeted guests with a smile and provided excellent service.
Thank you to the entire team for making our holiday so memorable. We look forward to returning in the future!
Had such a lovely stay at Sol Tropikal in Durrës! The pool was definitely one of my favorite parts — really clean, spacious, and perfect for relaxing. The rooms were also very clean and comfortable, which made the whole stay even better.
But honestly, what stood out the most was the service. Everyone was so friendly, helpful, and welcoming, which made us feel really comfortable from the moment we arrived. Overall, a great place for a relaxing getaway, and I’d definitely come back again! ❤️
The suite was 10/10! We had an amazing all inclusive stay with delicious meals and plenty of choices. The pool was huge and the kids absolutely loved it, especially the dancing and fun activities by the pool. We also loved the Albanian nights at the restaurants, with traditional outfits and a beautiful local touch. Overall, a wonderful family holiday!
We have just returned from a wonderful stay in Albania and wanted to express our sincere thanks to all of the hotel staff for making our holiday so enjoyable.
From the moment we arrived until the day we left, the service was outstanding. Every member of staff was friendly, professional, and always willing to help.
A very special mention must go to Marlene, who was simply exceptional throughout our stay. She made a genuine personal effort to ensure we had everything we needed and always took the time to check in with us. Her knowledge, advice, and recommendations on local customs, places to visit, and the dos and don'ts of the area were invaluable and helped make our holiday even more enjoyable.
Kevin was also excellent and provided great support whenever needed, but Marlene truly stood out for her dedication, warmth, and attention to detail. Nothing was ever too much trouble, and her friendly approach made us feel genuinely welcomed and valued as guests.
Marlene is a real asset to the hotel and a perfect example of outstanding customer service. She played a huge part in making our stay such a memorable one.
Thank you once again to Marlene, Kevin, and the entire team for a fantastic holiday. We would happily recommend the hotel to anyone visiting Albania and hope to return again in the future.
Kind regards,
John & Ann McAteer
My stay at Sol Tropikal was overall good but there are a few things that could definitely be improved.
The food was nice and tasty especially the beef, pasta and panna cotta. I enjoyed most of the meals although sometimes the food was more warm than hot. It would be better if the chefs could make sure the food stays hot enough during serving.
The rooms were neat, tidy and comfortable. Housekeeping did a good job keeping everything clean throughout my stay and the balcony area was nice to relax on.
One thing I struggled with was communication with some of the staff because many of them were not able to speak English well so I didn’t really find the staff very engaging.
I was also disappointed with the water situation. I had two bottles in my room when I arrived but nobody explained that I was supposed to keep and refill them. I assumed fresh bottles would be provided. When I asked reception for another bottle of water I was told guests only get two bottles and that I should buy water from the lobby shop instead. Considering I paid for all inclusive, I honestly felt disappointed that they couldn’t provide one extra bottle, especially since I would have reused it for refills afterwards.
Having stayed at another Melia hotel before, I personally didn’t feel this one matched the same standard. Overall the stay was okay and I would rate it 6/10
