My husband and I stayed at the Brecon for 6 nights in June/July 2026 and loved it! The owners designed the property so guests feel like they're at home, and they've succeeded. Not having to reserve and plan meals is such a luxury. The food was amazing, and the drinks free flowing. We stayed in the Waterfall room and highly recommend it for corner views that are simply spectacular (photo is view from our room). One nit: very limited closet space. Keep in mind there is no a/c but, being in the mountains, even on hot days, nights are cool and provide natural ventilation. We met such interesting guests, mainly from Europe and the US. We did some hiking straight from the property, shopped in the cute town of Adelboden, and drove to a couple of other memorable hikes (Giessbach Falls and Oeschinensee). The absolute best part of the experience is the staff (Lea, Francesca, Frederique, and the whole chef team). They are warm and so helpful always. (Oh and go the spa at the Brecon's sister property down the road, the Cambrian, for a sports massage with Maria -- she is amazing!). We will be back!
A very enjoyable stay at the all‑inclusive Brecon in Adelboden. From arrival, the team were genuinely welcoming, attentive and highly professional.
My room had a full-length balcony with beautiful views across the valley, village and snow‑capped mountains, a real highlight.
The food was excellent throughout. Four‑course dinners with drinks included were consistently high quality, and the afternoon tea with sandwiches, Welsh cakes and scones was a nice touch.
Great facilities too, I quickly fell into a relaxed routine of tea, spa, drinks and dinner.
A special mention to Martina, Frédéric and the wider team, including the Porto staff who handled transfers, all superb.
An excellent stay in a stylish Swiss chalet‑style hotel, highly recommended.
I haven’t got the vocabulary to describe how out of this world amazing The Brecon hotel is. You wouldn’t believe me anyway, you need to experience it for yourself. The staff are so attentive, friendly and professional that they make your stay even more special and you’ll want to return before you’ve even left. The room has been designed to perfection, it’s immaculately clean, superbly designed and you’ll have the best nights sleep ever. And then there are stunning views, a champagne/cocktail trolley and perfect spa area. It’s truly a special place.
Brilliant stay in the beautiful Brecon Adelboden. Food is amazing and such a chilled but stunning atmosphere. Staff super friendly and welcoming and waking up with that view in the morning while enjoying a coffee in bed is just wow!
The spa is lovely and again stunning views from the sauna and pool (heated).
Love the low technology vibes with no TVs and the encouragement to leave mobiles in your room to enjoy the slow entertainment.
Such a lush stay, would definitely recommend!
LIKE STAYING WITH AN IMPECCABLY TASTEFUL FRIEND
I had high expectations for The Brecon after reading reviews in The Times, The Observer, The FT, Michelin, Vogue, Conde Nast, and others. I certainly wasn’t disappointed: this place is genuinely special. It feels less like a commercial property and more like stepping into the home of an impeccably tasteful, very wealthy friend.
The Brecon team is the standout feature, effortlessly combining personal warmth with professionalism and meticulous attention to detail. Just like a good host, they quickly learn your preferences for wine, food, and activities, offering intelligent suggestions that genuinely elevate your stay.
The décor is equally perfect. The hotel isn’t just stunningly beautiful; it’s relaxed, calm, and incredibly comfortable. While the layout naturally encourages conversation between guests, there are still plenty of quiet hideaways if you prefer privacy. The absence of TVs and the discouragement of electronic devices in public areas further enhance this rare sense of conversational calm.
Despite this being a small, all-inclusive hotel, any world-class fine dining restaurant would be proud of their wine cellar. We enjoyed a different, exceptional wine each day, including several great Burgundies.
The food is similarly excellent. Each night features a brilliant four-course menu of fresh, local, seasonal produce, cooked to perfection and with true passion. Because all guests receive the same set menu (unless there are dietary requirements), it’s a haven for flexible foodies who value exceptional quality over endless choice.
I’m fortunate to have stayed in many great hotels around the world. The Brecon is, without a doubt, one of the very best.
