I stayed at TUI BLUE Makarska for 2 nights with my wife, and overall it was a very pleasant experience. The location and view are absolutely beautiful — peaceful seaside atmosphere, clear water, and amazing sunset views. The hotel area is relaxing and perfect for a short couple’s getaway. The service was very good; the staff were polite, welcoming, and helpful during our stay. The food was also enjoyable, with good variety and quality. The only part that was not on the same level was the apartment/room. It was not bad, but it also was not as impressive as the rest of the hotel experience. It could be improved a little to match the location, service, and overall atmosphere. Still, I would definitely recommend this place, especially for couples who want a relaxing stay with beautiful sea views.

We stayed at this hotel for 3 nights and 4 days and chose a room with a private pool. We visited in May, so the pool water was quite cold at first, but we got used to it after a while. We paid almost €600 for this room, and I must admit I expected it to be a little bigger. It felt somewhat compact, with limited space. However, the cleanliness was outstanding 10/10. The pool was cleaned every day, and the entire property was spotless. The breakfast and dinner buffet offered a wide variety of options, and everything we tried was delicious. There is a gentleman who prepares omelets exactly to your preference, and I highly recommend trying one, it exceeded our expectations. The staff were incredibly kind, professional, and welcoming. One waiter in particular, Renato, truly stood out. He was always smiling, friendly, and attentive, making guests feel valued and respected. His kindness is hard to describe, and his positive energy genuinely enhanced our stay. We would like to send him our greetings and wish him all the best in his career, he truly deserves it. 😭 he is amazing Overall, we had a pleasant and relaxing stay and will definitely return in the future. Parking costs €7 per day. Everyone was exceptionally friendly, the hotel was very clean, and the staff constantly greeted guests with a smile, making us feel welcome and comfortable. Disappointing 4-star experience Unfortunately, our experience at this hotel was far below what we would expect from a 4-star property. The room was not properly maintained: there were holes in the curtains, dust in several areas, and visible limescale in the shower. The minibar was completely empty and, despite the very hot weather, there was not even a bottle of water provided upon arrival. The room was also poorly equipped. We only had two bath towels and there was no separate towel for the hair. The bathroom sink is extremely low and uncomfortable to use, which makes something as simple as washing your face difficult. The reception staff were also not particularly welcoming or friendly, which unfortunately did not improve the overall impression of the hotel. Another very disappointing point is the parking. Parking is charged separately per day, yet having paid for it does not even guarantee that a parking space will be available, as the hotel parking can be completely full. In my opinion, this is unacceptable for a hotel of this category. If guests have to pay for parking, they should at least be able to rely on having a parking space. Most importantly, the door of our room could not be properly locked, which is a serious security concern and, in my opinion, completely unacceptable for a 4-star hotel. Overall, the problem is not one isolated detail, but the accumulation of poor maintenance, lack of basic amenities, impractical design choices, disappointing service and additional charges for services that are not even guaranteed. The hotel may officially be classified as 4-star, but based on our experience, the quality and level of maintenance felt much closer to a 2- or 3-star property. This was a very disappointing experience, especially considering the price and the standards we expected from a 4-star hotel. I sincerely hope the management takes this feedback seriously and improves the maintenance, cleanliness, safety, service and overall guest experience. The sea view during breakfast was absolutely beautiful. The staff working at breakfast were very kind and welcoming.
I would like to describe our stay at the hotel from May 24th to May 26th. Upon arrival, we immediately had a huge problem with parking. During the night, a staff member eventually found us a distant parking spot behind a barrier. Carrying our luggage all the way back to the hotel was quite difficult and inconvenient after a long journey. Unfortunately, the hotel has clearly seen better days. The walls were damaged, and many of the common areas looked worn out and neglected. However, the worst and completely unacceptable issue was the mold in the bathroom. It was everywhere — on the walls, around the shower, basically throughout the bathroom. For someone with allergies or respiratory problems, this is a very serious issue. It was the middle of the night and we were exhausted from traveling, so the next morning we went to reception to report the problem. At first, the receptionist seemed like he did not really believe us and said the issue would be handled the next day. Thankfully, we insisted that it needed to be solved immediately. After around 20 minutes, we received a call saying another room had been prepared for us and that we could go check it. We were told it was supposedly an upgraded room. The second room was definitely cleaner, especially the bathroom, but honestly it did not feel much different from the first one. Additionally, the air conditioning in the new room was not working properly, which made the room uncomfortably hot. We also received free parking, which we appreciated. We understand that unexpected situations can happen sometimes, but throughout the stay we simply did not feel cared for as guests. One situation especially stood out: around 9 PM we politely asked a receptionist for a spoon and fork, and she responded: “The restaurant is closed and I’m not going to look for cutlery because this is reception, not a restaurant.” I understand that reception is not the restaurant, but the level of attitude and arrogance over such a simple request was really unnecessary. Maybe it would be worth keeping a few basic sets of cutlery at reception, because this is not a difficult request from guests. Another big disappointment was the swimming pools. The hotel advertises them heavily and they look very inviting in the photos, but the water was freezing cold and it was impossible to swim comfortably. That was honestly a huge letdown. The breakfasts were okay and tasty, although on the second day some of the same food somehow tasted noticeably different. It is a shame because this trip was supposed to be a relaxing anniversary vacation, but instead it brought stress, frustration, and disappointment — things that should not happen during a holiday stay. We do appreciate the room change and the free parking, but overall the expectations and reality were far too different. This definitely did not feel like a proper 4-star hotel experience, and some of the staff behavior was simply unacceptable.
