Adler Lodge Ritten may have been our favorite hotel we’ve ever stayed at! The views are excellent and even more impressive than pictures. The staff was friendly and extremely welcoming. They went the extra mile to make us feel comfortable. The rooms are spacious. Each has a private sauna and balcony! The bed was possibly the most comfortable hotel bed ever. There is no central AC, but the staff was able to provide a portable AC unit that worked well. The restaurant is phenomenal! The menu rotates daily and highlights food and wine from the region. The wine selection at the hotel is excellent! Definitely will be returning to Adler Lodge Ritten!

beautiful hotel and property, amazing views, a nice place to get away and disconnect, with wonderful bike trails. it's definitely not a place that i would base myself if i was wanting to explore the dolomite region as it is fairly remote. the service is hit or miss. we had two waiters that were exceptional; however, most were average at best. we stayed at the Adler Lodge Alpe last summer so I realize that I had pretty high expectations for Adler Ritten. Alpe was flawless in every way - drinks were served as soon as we sat down without even asking - the waiters made us feel known and never once did we have to look for someone as there was always someone stopping by to check on us. the same can't be said for Ritten. many times we waited and waited to get a waiter's attention and then proceeded to wait some more for whatever item it is that we wanted. dinners were quite long and drawn out but the food was good. i did like that they had an a la carte menu so there was always something that appealed to each member of our family, which was helpful when dinning with teenagers. i wouldn't recommend the spa. i had a facial and massage and wouldn't consider either one memorable. overall, we had a nice stay but i don't know that i would be back to this particular hotel.

The location is without a doubt great if the weather plays nice. As all know who booked here, prices are on the upper scale of what comparable hotels ask for in this region. The arrival and orientation is efficient, maybe a bit too efficient, as many things that have been told we needed to ask for again such as the public transport card. Let’s talk about breakfast, it is a buffet with some table service such as coffee and egg dishes. There is lunch service with a limited buffet as well as afternoon tea and coffee with cakes. The dinner is maybe the biggest disappointment looking at the level of the hotel, and comparing it with local competition. Why I say this is, because the menus are very limited in choice and not at all a Michelin type as claimed. It remembers more of an upscale all inclusive resort. The wines are mostly local varieties with a small selection of french and champagnes. Not that the local wines would be bad, but a Michelin star restaurant must have an extensive cellar of all global important regions. So, the food id give a three out of five, the rooms are 4 to 5, the spa a 4 and the other areas such as gym , pool and such also a 4. The service over all is maybe a 3 to 4, again compared to other 5 star hotels in the closer 50km proximity we frequently visit. Would we come back again maybe, but we would prefer other hotels to be quiet franc.

I flipping love this place!!! We stayed here the first week of June. Four of us total (two couples) with two in a junior chalet on the pond and two in a suite on the opposite end of the property. Absolutely loved every second of it. We were already talking about coming back before we even left.😭🥹 The breakfast was incredible, and the cocktails were some of the best we’ve had. They’re wonderfully creative with their drink program. After ordering my 3rd Aperol Spritz they basically said, “let us make you something fun this time” and made something far better. Don’t miss the croissants with fresh honeycomb either. We ate our weight in these 😋 One person in our group owns an Airbnb revenue business and a hotel, so he’s seen a lot of properties. He said it was the best hospitality he’s ever experienced and he wouldn’t stop talking about the quality of the materials used throughout the property and how thoughtfully everything was executed. He was also thrilled to be staying at a Michelin Key property, and they absolutely deserve that recognition. The property itself is so beautiful that we barely wanted to leave, even though they offer so many ways to explore. They give you a train card, a cable car pass and more. We used the train once, but ended up heading back pretty quickly because we just loved being there so much. Highly recommend taking any of their wellness classes and grabbing bikes to explore the grounds and surrounding area. We all loved the bikes I was a little worried about mosquitoes given the pond our chalet was on, but they’ve clearly thought of everything. They’ve actually cultivated dragonflies on the property to naturally keep mosquitoes in check. We kept our door open the whole time with zero issues. And the staff😭😭😭 every single person we encountered had incredible energy, was completely attentive, and the word “no” simply didn’t exist in their vocabulary. Only slight “con” is the dinner. Similar to other reviews I don’t fully understand why they’d do small plate dining for every single night. Some of it was good, some of it wasn’t but we weren’t big fans of the small plates every night. Luckily they have options and have a menu with full size items too (you just need to specifically ask for it). I got the full size salmon pretty much every night and was happy. And to clarify, the restaurant is not Michelin, the hotel is. It’s a Michelin key (hotel related, not food related). All in all, If you’re considering it, just go. Anyone who saw our photos immediately asked, “what is this place?” It’s that kind of property.

Our four-day stay was incredibly inconsistent, and we left with the impression that management has neither full control of its staff and service processes, nor a clear understanding of what guests expect at this category and price point (€1,000+ per night). We cannot recommend this property. Arrival: Despite announcing ourselves by phone 30 minutes ahead and arriving exactly on time, we were left waiting at the gate for nearly 20 minutes because no one was at reception. Two days later, we found another couple stranded outside the main gate as we returned from a hike — we let them in ourselves. Food: Genuinely disappointing. Across three dinners, the duck was miscooked, the pasta was overcooked twice, and the fish was overcooked. We — and other tables — regularly had to add salt and pepper just to give the food some flavour. Lunch follows an odd concept for this category: essentially a premium airline lounge, with stale food sitting in heating containers, help-yourself style. The cakes looked lovely but were similarly mediocre; it's hard to believe there's a trained pâtissier in the kitchen. Wine: The focus on local wines is a great idea in principle, but the selection consists of rather cheap bottles presented as "very special." There is no sommelier at dinner, and the waiters don't know wine the way one would expect at this level — they ask what kind of wine you like rather than advising what pairs with the dish. We know Alto Adige and Trentino well and have travelled the region's vineyards extensively; the gap between what's offered and the outstanding quality actually available locally is striking. Service: Very hit and miss, and the property feels understaffed throughout. There were two or three genuinely nice waiters, but we still sometimes waited 20+ minutes for a morning coffee. Some staff were outright rude — after we declined the wine pairing on the second night, it wasn't even offered on the third. Nobody we encountered seemed to have trained at a genuine five-star property, and it showed. Countless smaller lapses added up: no service at the pool, towels lying around all day, no water available poolside, no face towels in the bathroom (a first for us anywhere), our honeymoon forgotten despite being announced in advance, and stepping aside for the electric luggage cart without so much as a thank-you from the driver. Also, no second service in the rooms. Spa: We would avoid the treatments. My wife left her massage with a headache; mine was forgettable and released little tension. There is also the odd habit of pressing the bill into your hands while you're still in the treatment room, rather than offering a tea and settling it afterwards. Follow-up: We conveyed all of the above directly before departure. The receptionist assured us the hotel manager would reach out — that never happened, which feels symptomatic of the place. Highlights: The property itself is beautiful, the Aufguss sessions in the sauna were very good, and the yoga classes in the lovely studio were a genuine plus. Overall, this hotel does not deserve its Michelin Key, and we are surprised it was elevated to that category — every other Key property we've stayed at has been consistently exceptional. Adler Ritten management would do well to visit a few true five-star hotels and understand the standards expected in food, wine, spa and overall service. Right now, it doesn't feel like anyone there does.
