Must say that for *** star hotel standard is very good. Large room with big balcony. Beach transfer. Very good location close to old town. Food ok.
First of all, it should be emphasized that this is an inexpensive 3-star hotel, so expectations should be set accordingly. However, I have a few comments that are cost free or inexpensive:
1) Friendliness: The service staff, especially the bar staff, are unfriendly. A "good morning," "please," or "thank you" doesn't cost anything. Only the shuttle driver to the beach and the beach lifeguard are very friendly and greet guests nicely.
2) Environmental pollution: At the water dispenser and juice bar (hotel and beach), drinks are served in disposable 0.2-liter cups during the day. A huge pile of garbage every day! Why not use hard plastic cups that can be washed?
3) Generally, the buffet is almost identical every day; it lacks variety and a bit of attention to detail. Vegetarians get the same food every day at the salad bar and side dishes. A vegetarian pide or something similar would be nice. In general, the buffet could use a bit more attention.
4) There wasn't a single scoop of ice cream. Instead, there were dry cookies and cakes that tasted of nothing in the afternoon.
Never local figs or grapes. Every day, morning and evening, there was only watermelon and apples.
5) The shower by the pool isn't used by anyone; it's tucked away in a corner, and guests aren't reminded to shower before entering the pool. With temperatures over 30 degrees Celsius for weeks, the pool is very cloudy. I don't believe the fresh water is regularly replaced, and I doubt the pool's hygiene standards.
6) Lifeguard: The waterslide is open twice a day. The lifeguard always whistles from below when the next person is allowed to slide. WHY? Why isn't he standing at the top of the slide like every other lifeguard? The whistling is super annoying, unnecessary, and you get the feeling the lifeguard is just trying to make himself important.
The best thing about the hotel, in my opinion, is the beach with loungers, parasols, a friendly beach attendant, and a friendly shuttle driver. Thank you for the friendly service.
Don't normally stay in a three star but this hotel deserves a five star review. Food quality is amazing for a 3 star and I have never seen a better salad bar anywhere. Hot food is always HOT and cooked fresh. Rooms are basic but spacious and comfortable. Great family budget hotel and nice surroundings. They have 2 pet sheep and a goat who all love a fuss. Staff are incredibly friendly and efficient, what more could you want?
This is the worst experience in my 6th trip to Turkiye. I always choosing Turkiye as my holiday destiny, Turkish people are very kind, helpful and family-stand. But Dream of Side hotel is different. There is one woman-barman maid, probably Russian, who is hateful to other nations. When asked for drink, she's pouring 1mm of vodka in glass. When asked for vodka with cola and ice in all-inclusive holidays, she's saying cola and ice is finish. When came back with reception lady cola is magically available. And pouring 1mm of vodka because "this is standard." I will complain for recompensate, curse this hotel and will never visit Side again.
The hotel matches 3 stars. Rooms are cozy & tidy. The service and food was wonderful, though we had to stand in line for it. Especially helpful and friendly staff: from the owner to the waiters and the chefs. Receptionists deserve special praise for serving, as they where dealing like with their loved ones. The location is not bad, because there are supermarkets nearby, as well as, places to visit. In fact, the seashore is remote, so you have to use the hotel's free shuttle service, which, though shuttles every half hour, is very uncomfortable due to the large number of people going. The hotel has a great pool, but not enough sunbeds, so it is better to reserve them in advance. The hotel is mostly filled with Russians: the language and music are dominated by Russian. Only a Russian-speaking woman will meet arriving holidaymakers and will try to push you shortly into massages. Wi-fi is slow and works only at the reception.
