I went with my son and 2 young grandsons, the family room was a good size, we had a pool view. The 2nd day I had to phone reception to tell them one of the beds was broken at one end so they sent a guy to fix it which was good. Next day i had to call again as the 2nd bed went also. The legs just kept bending and you would be lying with one side of the bed lying down nearly touching the floor, but like i said they got right onto it and sent a guy quickly both times. The restaurant we were allocated wasn't very good, the food wasn't nice, it was slightly warm and the time you sat down it was cold. After several days I asked to be moved to the coral restaurant( which was recommended by 2 lovely sisters from the isle of lewis) which the receptionist sorted for us and it was a lot better better for choice, atmosphere and friendly staff. The pool snack stand was OK if you liked chicken nuggets, chips, calamari, burgers paella or pastries. It was supposed to be open from 10.30am but hot food wasn't out until nearly 12. The kids pool/ slides were great, my grandsons loved it. Plenty of lifeguards around the other pools. Was disappointed with the maid service, on day one, kids being kids had got my blanket all dirty , in the morning i pressed(sorry cannot think the name of this but it's an illuminated sign for do not disturb or clean room basically) as I wanted room cleaned, came back to the room and it hadn't been touched. Done the same next day and maid came in, didn't change the blanket and only swept/ mopped the floor, didn't touch the balcony or bathroom. Every day afterwards I pressed the light for a maid and out of 7 days we got one 3 times. Same blanket was on the bed when we left. Same splashes behind taps in bathroom ... normally I would clean it myself but I left it to see if the cleaning got done. We took plastic cups up to the room at night so we could finish our drinks and they were left lying until we left also... so cannot say that I'm impressed with the maid service. Entertainment was OK i suppose Kids club was good, friendly staff and there was PlayStations & nintento switches which suited my grandson. The hotel is in a good location, easy walking distance to the shops, burger king/McDonald's was a big hit with the kids as they weren't too keen on the hotel food either. (We were all inclusive). I spoke to the Jet2 rep regarding excursions but I was told that there wasn't really anything suitable for young kids 5/6yrs....disappointed with that too, as I was getting a bit fed up just shopping or sitting at a pool all day. Oh there is also a play park right next to the hotel, which is good. Have attached photo of the blanket but to be honest it doesn't look that bad in the photo compared to what I was living with for a week.... I can say I've been now but wouldn't go back.
We stayed at Evenia Olympic Suites for 7 nights at the end of July and overall had a fantastic family holiday. Our room was lovely, kept spotlessly clean every day, and we always had fresh towels. All of the staff were friendly, helpful and welcoming throughout our stay. The bar staff were especially polite and always seemed happy to help. One thing we really liked was being shown to a table in the restaurant rather than having to search for one ourselves. The food was good, and we particularly enjoyed the themed dinner nights. By the end of the week the lunch and snack bar options had become a little repetitive, but there was always something to eat. Our children loved the evening entertainment. Although it was mainly in Spanish, it didn’t stop them from having a brilliant time. They especially enjoyed the carnival night with the bouncy castles and games. The daytime entertainment was also mostly in Spanish, which made it a little difficult for us to join in at times. The only real downside for us was the sunbeds. During our entire 7-night stay we didn’t manage to get one. We aren’t the type of family to rush down early to reserve beds, especially as it takes time to get three children ready in the morning. Unfortunately, many sunbeds were reserved with towels for hours, despite the hotel rules stating this isn’t allowed, and often nobody returned to use them until much later. We ended up sitting on the grass instead, but it became far too hot to stay there for long. The location was excellent, with around a 10-minute walk to the beach. We also loved exploring the Tuesday market, which was only a couple of minutes away. There were plenty of great stalls, and our favourites were the bag stall and the sweet stall. Overall, we had a wonderful stay and felt very well looked after. There was always something happening around the hotel, creating a fun and lively atmosphere. Our children had the best time, and despite a couple of minor issues, we would happily recommend Evenia Olympic Suites to other families looking for an enjoyable holiday.
This is our second time staying at this hotel, and once again we had a wonderful experience. The staff are great, and there are plenty of facilities to enjoy. We highly recommend it for families with young children. We really enjoyed our stay and will definitely be coming back again.
Fantastic holiday, snack bar open 10:30 - 5:30 for any fussy kids that want bugs chips burgers hot dogs, ice cream van open all day, pools were amazing and the grassed areas were brilliant for throwing towels down. Didn't have a problem getting beds. Great hotel would 100% return!
First of all do not book this hotel we booked, the food and staff are appalling night 1 we got allocated a restaurant to walk In and see food that looks days old covered in flies and potato’s even have some kind of bugs on eventually got moved to another restaurant which was was still awful but slightly better no bugs and food was partly hot same thing every night. The staff are so rude unless your Spanish understand little to no English let me upgrade and pay for pool view but then proceeded to tell me the hotel I was in don’t have pool view and refused giving my money back when asking for drinks ect you get a nod no interaction especially with children there’s little to no entertainment in the day 1 out of the 7 nights we stayed and actually enjoyed it Our rooms didn’t get cleaned once the bin got emptied and towels dumped on the towel rack.
