We paid just under £1,800 for a seven-night all-inclusive package holiday through On the Beach for two adults and our two-year-old son. Unfortunately, despite some positives, we would not recommend this hotel to other UK families travelling with young children. The flights and transfers were absolutely fine, and the room itself was acceptable. However, our biggest issue was the “all-inclusive” package. When booking, only an All Inclusive option was available and both the booking information and hotel information suggested access to themed restaurants and alternative cuisines. On our second day we tried to make a reservation, only to be told that these restaurants were unavailable to us because we were not “Gold Members”. We were therefore restricted to the buffet for the entire seven-night stay, despite the hotel’s own information stating guests staying 5–7 nights are entitled to three themed dinners. The resort was also far busier than expected despite being advertised outside peak season. Queues for the buffet regularly stretched into reception, and waiting 15+ minutes just to enter a restaurant isn’t ideal when travelling with a hungry toddler. The four lifts were another major issue, with waits sometimes reaching 15–20 minutes. Customer service was consistently disappointing. Staff often appeared dismissive and uninterested in helping guests. We regularly had to chase staff for drinks in the buffet restaurant, and on one occasion two drinks we ordered never arrived. Bar service was also extremely slow, with waits of over 20 minutes for soft drinks. We paid extra for a Junior Suite upgrade but overlooked the car park and bin area. The beds were uncomfortable, the Wi-Fi barely worked, the room phone wasn’t connected, and requests for a baby bed and bath were never fulfilled. The final straw came on our last evening when a member of staff gestured for us to leave an indoor seating area while we were trying to eat with our tired two-year-old. The interaction visibly frightened our son and summed up the lack of warmth we experienced throughout the week. Overall, between the misleading dining arrangements, overcrowding, poor service and disappointing value for money, we would not return and would not recommend this hotel to families considering booking.
The rooms are a great size, quite basic. Don’t provide tea or coffee making facilities which can be an issue for young families who are bottle feeding. Buffet lacked variety, over the course of a week it got quite repetitive. Staff are super friendly and are well adapted to English speakers with broken Spanish. Pool is a bit chilly (not heated) but who cares when it’s 30 plus degrees out.
We were very dissatisfied, you still need to work on your attitude and behavior towards tourists, you can feel the bad attitude from them. Hygiene is very bad, they don't change the sheets, they don't wipe the threshold, nor the mirrors. The water in the pool is completely salty. Flies are flying everywhere, plates and cutlery are dirty after eating.
Very anti English resort. Bad food, not very helpful and if your Spanish you get free bottles of water. If your not, you don't, and also the bar staff hate you
Great hotel 1 hour from the airport Beautiful hotel, big rooms with big beds Lovely powerful shower, great views from our balcony. Beautiful massive beach next to the hotel. Beautiful big swimming pools with slides for smaller and bigger kids also adults and a foam party was lot of fun. Food is lovely and drinks are name branded from a glass bottles which was included in the all inclusive. Staff are all working hard so everything is running smoothly. Entertainment was fun. Few shops and a supermarket outside the hotel, town is only 10 minutes away in a taxi which was very cheap. Great family holiday in Almeria !!!
