I’ll be honest, some of the reviews I’d read before our stay at the Mediterraneo Hotel on Trip Advisor had made me a little worried, but I genuinely couldn’t find fault with our stay — and I’m fussy!
Our room was spacious, clean and comfortable, and the pool was perfect. My son particularly loved getting involved in the daily water polo / water basket, which kept him entertained.
The staff were great throughout our stay. A special mention to Juliane, who my son thought was super cool, he really went out of his way to make him feel welcome.
The food was another highlight. There was a great selection every day, with plenty of choice to suit all tastes. And the chocolate fountain night was a definite winner with my son! We stayed half board which is always the perfect balance for us. Big breakfast, then crisps by the pool in the day, before dinner!
Despite the signs people did reserve sun beds however there was never a time we couldn’t get one.
Overall, we had a really enjoyable stay and I’m so glad we didn’t let the mixed reviews put us off. We’d happily return! ☀️
Great hotel
Great location ( just on the edge of the bars and restaurants. About 10 mins walk from main mad hub, but 5 mins from quieter bars n restaurants for families. On the flat, no hills.
Food is standard all inclusive food. Chicken, beef, fish, something for everyone
Very clean hotel, fresh towels n rooms cleaned every day.
You get a card to get your all inclusive food and drinks. Kids get one too so u need to really keep an eye on the cards. Wrist bands would be better for kids I believe. There's no slides at the pool which was a small let down for my 8 year old.
Entertainment: The main events would not be great at night. I think this could be somewhere the hotel could improve. The kids entertainment n bingo is well run. Kids club on from 10.30 til around 5pm. Staff are great.
I would def return to this hotel.
The hotel is directly opposite the Benidorm Palace, ideal for going to see a show. My view is that it's a 3 star at best, not 4. Underground parking is available. Rooms and public spaces are all kept very clean. The management here must have been to the school of silly rules. The staff are mostly cheerful and helpful. The rooms are tired, with cracked tiles, silicon that needs replacing and orange decor and wall art reminiscent of the 1980s. There are various ‘plans’ for staying here and some bizarre rules. We stayed on a half board basis. In the restaurant it is not possible to buy just a glass of wine, you have to buy a bottle (they will put a label on it and keep it for you). You can however buy a glass of wine at the bar and take that in with you! If you're staying half board you are allowed to take your wine in miniature plastic cups, out to the terrace and the bottle can go to your room. However if you’re on an all inclusive basis, everything must be consumed inside the restaurant!
There is a varied selection of food, but the hot food was barely tepid. Does anyone really enjoy lukewarm scrambled eggs or lukewarm anything?
The large pool looks well maintained and there is a spacious terrace with shade. The personal boom boxes should be banned. There is a dart board outside but you can only play darts as part of the scheduled entertainment program. Why?
Everything is pay as you go, there is no facility to put charges on your room.
The acid test of a hotel stay, is whether you would return, and the answer to that is sadly no.
Great hotel so far, food selection is great, rooms clean, spacious and welcoming, air con not as cold as I'd like.
Close to all entertainment and the beach.
Very friendly, drinks options at the bar are top too.
Cannot complain at all,a fantastic week with fantastic hosts.
Stayed here for a week with our granddaughter and our friends. Pool was brilliant, we all really enjoyed the food . Plenty of seafood and meat dishes and every day was different menu.
Staff very friendly, hotel was spot less as was the room .
Kids entertainment staff were very good . Will definitely be booking again . All inclusive was a bargain really .
