Absolutely amazing and relaxing time as a family. The service was very good but the breakfast tea/coffee service was not as good simply because there were not enough staff. All staff were helpful and service was very good overall throughout the hotel. Everything worked and was very clean in the room - just not five stars because it was not absolutely high end and perfect. Would recommend taking a local trip out somewhere and getting some recommendations for where to eat if you go to Cadiz. We had brilliant weather and a little fairly gentle wind but I have read that there can be strong winds so something to consider. The lobby is lovely and the layout of the pool areas is great. We always managed to get a sun bed and a parasol. The aqua aerobics sessions were fun (and funny at points) and the gym has good equipment for a hotel. The beach is huge with little litter. The local village/town has some lovely little places to eat which were around 20 euros per head at the lower end. You can easily walk to the local village/town from the hotel in about ten mins. There is a supermarket and lots of tourist shops, Italian, Greek, and fish restaurants. Would recommend for a relaxing family holiday. We felt that this place was good value but we did not book half board so I don’t know what the dinner was like.
I’d happily give this hotel 4.5 out of 5 if I could.
Overall, we had an excellent stay at Iberostar Selection Andalucía Playa. The service was fantastic throughout, and every member of staff we encountered was friendly, attentive and professional, making us feel genuinely welcome.
The food was one of the highlights of our stay. There was an excellent variety every day, with different themed evenings keeping things interesting. Everything we tried was fresh and delicious, and the steak was very good.
The only reason I’m not giving it a full 5 stars is that, while the hotel is very well maintained, it is beginning to look just slightly dated in places when compared with some of the newer 5-star hotels. It could also benefit from a few kids pool facilities - slides/sprinklers, being a family friendly hotel. It’s only a minor point and certainly didn’t detract from our holiday, but a refresh in a few areas would take it to the next level.
Overall, it’s a great hotel with outstanding food, excellent service and a great atmosphere. We’d happily recommend it.
We had a fantastic stay at the Iberostar Selection Andalucía Playa and would happily return.
The food on the half-board package was excellent, with a wide variety of fresh, high-quality options at both breakfast and dinner. There was always plenty of choice, and every meal felt like a treat.
The pool area is superb, with plenty of comfortable sunbeds and a relaxing atmosphere. Even during busy periods, it never felt overcrowded, making it easy to unwind.
Our room was modern, spacious, spotlessly clean, and very comfortable. Housekeeping was excellent throughout our stay.
Although this hotel has a peaceful, more adult-focused feel, families are brilliantly catered for thanks to the excellent facilities at the neighbouring sister hotel. The children’s pool, splash areas, playground, and entertainment were all fantastic and only a short walk away, giving us the best of both worlds—a relaxing hotel with outstanding facilities for our child.
Overall, this is an excellent hotel with fantastic food, beautiful surroundings, and superb amenities. We’d highly recommend it for couples and families alike.
Beachfront location with easy access via wooden walkway. The hotel has its own restaurant on the beach and its own sun loungers on the beach which is nice. Beach is ling and perfect for morning walks - lots of people doing this. Pool area is lovely and clean comfortable mattresses on the sunbeds and beach towels provided to guests. No shortage of sunbeds and we are here end of July. A hotel frequented by mainly Spanish, some German, other European countries and English. a quiet environment throughout only on one day did somebody have a small portable speaker by the pool and I think they were probably asked to turn it off. some kids playing ball in the pool as although not marketed as a family hotel children are allowed -they were polite and the pool is large enough to stand this. The hotel Next Door has the kids club which is shared with this hotel. Daily aquarobics in the pool although this is done in Spanish it’s easy enough to follow along. A well equipped gym and indoor spa pool. Some gym classes offered although I didn’t do any of these. Balconies tend to be in the shade most of the day and I rarely saw anyone sat on them as the pool area is so spacious. drinks are reasonably priced. Mojito is around €9 a local beer around £4 we had some very good wine for under €30 a bottle. Buffet dinner is around €30 a head and there are various chefs at cooking stations within it- fish, meat, pizza, noodles. Breakfast buffet is what I expect from 5* - the food is excellent throughout the hotel. Service can be inconsistent- some of which was definitely down to the language barrier. Staff were all lovely so it was easy to forgive the occasional delays. Snacks are quite limited with a focus more on meals. No kettles in rooms only a coffee machine. I didn’t bother to ask for one so no idea if they would have provided. Carafes provided in rooms to refill at filtered water stations throughout hotel - we took insulated water bottle with us and this meant we always had cold water by the pool/ beach.
Iberostar is a fantastic hotel with many great qualities, the best, its location!! The overall service is very good, and the dining experience is one of the highlights of the stay. However, the rooms are starting to look dated and would benefit from renovation and modernization. While the reception service is generally good, not all staff members provide the same level of attention and hospitality.
As a guest with celiac disease and gluten intolerance, I would like to see an improvement in the gluten-free bread selection. Currently, there are only two options available, and both can become quite repetitive during a longer stay.
That being said, I would like to recognize several outstanding employees who made my stay much more enjoyable. Mr. Roberto does an excellent job and always goes above and beyond to provide the best possible service. I would also like to thank Sheila from the fruit station and Diego from the fish station for their professionalism and friendliness.
My special thanks go to Jairo Gómez for his exceptional support. Every day, he took the time to explain which dishes were safe and gluten-free, always with enthusiasm, patience, and a smile. An employee like him is invaluable. Whenever he was not there, I felt a bit lost, as his guidance gave me confidence and made dining much easier.
Overall, Iberostar offers a wonderful experience. With renovated rooms and a greater variety of gluten-free bread options, it would be even closer to a great hotel.
