I went there as a family of four, and the kids loved it! We liked it, and it is all inclusive. There are quite a few restaurants nearby, a beach, and two pools. The room that we stayed in was big enough, but not a whole lot of room to spare. Plenty of stuff to do, including swimming, a waterpark, chill, snack, soft play and much more. I loved the design of the hotel as well. It was all very good. Thanks to the team at Sol Katmandu as your help was excellent
Fantastic Hotel – Especially for Families with Autistic Children ❤️
We had a wonderful 7-day stay and I wanted to share our experience, especially for parents travelling with autistic children.
We arrived at 11am and were told our room would be ready at 3pm. We explained that our 7-year-old autistic daughter can find waiting and changes in routine difficult. The receptionist (Helena) was incredibly understanding, took our number and called us at 11:45am to let us know our room was ready. This meant so much to us! 🥰
The hotel is in a great location, within walking distance of the beach, shops and supermarkets. The food was amazing, although the restaurant could be quite busy and noisy, which was overwhelming for our daughter. We explained the situation to reception, and they were extremely supportive and allowed us to take food and drinks back to our room. This helped us massively and made mealtimes much easier and less stressful.
Our room was cleaned every day, and overall we had a fantastic experience.
A huge thank you to all the staff for their kindness, understanding and support towards our daughter. For parents of autistic children, having staff who listen and are willing to accommodate your child’s needs can make such a difference.
We truly appreciated everything the staff did for us and would happily stay here again. ❤️
We stayed at Sol Katmandu Park & Resort in Mallorca in September 2026 as a family with a young child. We booked a Family Room with half board through Bentour.
The hotel is marketed as a 4-star family resort, but our experience was very different from what we expected.
The biggest issue was the night-time noise. The hotel did try to help and moved us to a room on the other side of the building, where the noise was somewhat lower. However, the surrounding area is full of bars, nightlife venues and adult-oriented clubs, and we repeatedly heard intoxicated people shouting in the streets until around 5:00–6:00 in the morning.
For us, this had very little to do with a quiet family holiday.
We also had concerns about cleanliness. In the second room, there were visible signs of mould on the silicone in the shower. The bed linen had been washed but still had several visible stains, and the mattress intended as an extra bed for our child was visibly dirty. The hotel in general felt worn and insufficiently cleaned for a 4-star property.
Another issue was the enforcement of hotel rules. Smoking was prohibited in certain areas, but guests still smoked there. Children were also using laser pointers despite them being explicitly prohibited by the hotel. In our experience, staff often reacted only after we specifically complained.
The hotel also contains many paid arcade and amusement machines. They are very prominent, with flashing lights and sounds, and almost every machine requires additional payment. As a parent, I sometimes felt more like I was walking through an amusement arcade than staying in a family hotel.
The food itself was average, but the dining experience was disappointing for a 4-star hotel. Drinks were generally served in plastic cups, breakfast became very repetitive after a few days, the selection of vegetables and fruit was limited, and the drinks mainly came from dispensers. The coffee was also below what I would expect from a 4-star hotel.
I also want to mention Bentour. We expected practical local support in Mallorca, but when problems occurred, the assistance was very limited and proposed alternatives involved changing and significant additional costs.
To be fair, the hotel staff did try to help with our noise complaint by moving us to another room.
However, if we had known in advance about the intense nightlife, the noise until early morning, the cleanliness issues, the number of paid arcade machines and the overall atmosphere, we would not have chosen this hotel for a family holiday with a young child.
Do not recommend. Great staff, but severe room issues.
The general staff, entertainment team, and reception were hard-working and brilliant during our stay. However, our holiday was completely ruined by severe room sanitary and pest issues in room 703. My family broke out in painful, itchy bites from day one. We had to change mattresses and eventually switch rooms entirely, which caused massive distress for our autistic son who does not handle sudden changes well.
Management (Pedro) and the Melia group provided zero customer service once we got home. We faced a stressful dispute regarding property damage to our clothes and suitcases. We would never return here, even for free. If you stay here and face issues, demand a firm resolution on-site before checking out, and definitely look to use a payment method that has consumer protection which is a lesson learnt for us.
- Food.. I know that when you opt for all inclusive you are taking a chance and shouldn’t expect anything of a high standard, but we found the food to be awful. The dining room smelt of stagnant water on more than 2 occasions and my two middle kids left with food poisoning. The snack bar food is OK, and the best of a bad bunch.
- Cleanliness.. Although the cleaners attended the 2 rooms daily, all that was done were the beds were remade after already being made by myself. Bin emptied every other day, but no brushing/ mopping of the floor took place at all. Towels that clearly had been used and bedding that kids had got a couple of dirty marks on were not changed or replaced until I got fed up and left them in a pile in the middle of the room making it impossible to ignore.
-Attractions.. This is more of a heads up than a complaint as I probably should have double checked this myself before booking, however to find out on arrival that the attractions close early evening was a disappointment. They were the main reason we opted for this hotel as I thought it would be perfect to keep the kids entertained after dinner. We hardly used any of them as it was far too hot in the day to expect the kids to stay fully clothed to access them, they just wanted to swim. This should definitely be made more apparent on advertising holiday websites as I can imagine many other families have been surprised by this.
-Staff… the bar staff working in the evening were an absolute pleasure and by far the best thing about this hotel, however we found security and reception staff to be very unfriendly and came across as inconvenienced when we asked for directions/ taxis etc.
- Kids Entertainment… the hour of children’s entertainment was the only positive I have on this hotel. Every night was different, very interactive and it was lovely to see how inclusive they were to all children, including those with additional needs.
I wish I had read some more honest reviews before paying £6000 for a week that can’t be described as anything other than disappointing.
