Kirbiyik Resort is advertised as a five-star hotel, but our experience fell far short of expectations. Although standards may vary between hotels, this property was disappointing even as a budget five-star option. I have travelled extensively, yet this was the worst hotel stay I have ever experienced.
The staff were often rude and inattentive. Even simple requests made us feel as though we were being a nuisance. Drinks were usually served in plastic cups, while wine was served in proper glasses only during dinner.
The food selection remained almost unchanged throughout the week, with only one or two dishes being replaced. Hot food was usually lukewarm or cold, it was not replenished promptly, and plates were sometimes cleared before lunch service had ended.
Although we were staying in a suite, there was a persistent and strong smell of cooking in the room. At times, it even woke us during the night and made it difficult to rest.
The condition of the hotel did not match the promotional photographs. Even in the renovated section, the paint was peeling, the renovation appeared superficial, and the surroundings looked old and worn.
The gym contained mould and offered very limited space. The only equipment that could reasonably be used was the dumbbells. Overall, it did not meet the standards one would expect from a hotel gym.
The paid spa services were equally disappointing. The massages did not justify their price; the movements were repetitive and barely adapted to individual needs. They felt more like having oil rubbed onto the body than receiving a professional massage, especially compared with the better quality we have experienced elsewhere for less money.
The spa environment was not relaxing. Different music was playing simultaneously in separate treatment rooms, and there was considerable background noise. The therapists were sometimes around ten minutes late, yet the treatments were not extended. As a result, a massage booked for one hour lasted only 45–50 minutes.
The only aspects we enjoyed were the sea and the coastline. However, beautiful natural surroundings cannot compensate for the hotel’s shortcomings and poor service.
I cannot recommend either this hotel or its spa. If the holiday had cost up to €400, our expectations would have been different, although no price can justify rude service. Having paid almost €1,000, we received a level of quality that was clearly not proportionate to the price.
Tour operators should inspect the conditions of the hotels they offer much more carefully. In my opinion, this hotel does not meet five-star standards and should not be marketed to European travellers as such. Customers deserve to receive the quality and service they have paid for.
We had a really great holiday here! The hotel is nice, the staff are friendly and there is always something to do.
Special thanks to the animation team, they are doing a great job and make the holiday much more fun. Benjamin is simply the best animator in the world 😄 Darts and airsoft shooting with him were always interesting and a lot of fun. He also chooses really good music, so the atmosphere around the pool is always great.
Big respect to the whole animation team. You can see that they really enjoy what they do and try to make everyone have a good time. Thank you guys, we will definitely remember you!
WARNING: The Deadly Hotel with the Poorest Quality in Alanya!!!
I have traveled extensively and stayed in countless hotels around the world, but our experience with Kirbiyik Hotel is, without question, one of the most disappointing and alarming we have ever encountered.
This hotel demonstrates an astonishing lack of professionalism, hospitality, cleanliness, and concern for guest safety. At virtually every level, the operation falls far below what anyone should expect—especially from a property that advertises itself as a five-star hotel.
The most disturbing aspect is that this hotel has been associated with a tragic drowning incident involving an eight-year-old child in its swimming pool. As a potential guest, this raises serious concerns about the effectiveness of the hotel’s safety procedures, supervision, and emergency response. A tragedy of this magnitude should prompt every traveler to carefully consider whether this is a place where they would feel comfortable bringing their family.
The problems do not end there. I also experienced extremely unprofessional treatment at the front desk. A receptionist named Ali appeared unwilling to honor reservations made from overseas when the guests were Turkish. No guest should ever feel discriminated against or treated differently because of where they made their reservation or their nationality.
The restaurant was another major disappointment. The dining area lacked basic cleanliness, and the food quality was far below the standard expected of a hotel claiming to be five stars. Even more frustrating was the service: staff members seemed far more interested in collecting empty glasses than actually serving guests. Receiving assistance often felt like an inconvenience to them.
Another serious concern is the complete lack of air conditioning in the elevators. During the hot summer months, these elevators become extremely uncomfortable. If an elevator were to malfunction, the heat could quickly become dangerous, especially for children, elderly guests, or anyone with medical conditions. (The receptionist Ali even admitted that they had turned off the A/C on the elevator due to a water leak.) This is simply unacceptable for a modern hotel.
Overall, I cannot understand how this property continues to market itself as a five-star hotel. In my opinion, it falls dramatically short of the standards expected for guest safety, hygiene, service, and hospitality. Based on our experience, I cannot recommend this hotel to anyone, particularly families with children. I sincerely hope the management and relevant authorities take these issues seriously and implement substantial improvements before more guests have similarly negative experiences.
Kırbıyık Resort Hotel is a lovely place with a welcoming atmosphere. The hotel is very clean and well maintained, the staff are friendly and attentive, and the service is excellent. The food is also very good, with plenty of choice and everything nicely presented. Overall, a great hotel for a relaxing and enjoyable holiday. Highly recommended!
I would like to add this is not a 5 star hotel and is very far away from anything,, the rooms are ok and are kept very clean by the maids ,, the ( buffet ) is cold unless you get in there bang in serving time ,, it caters for mainly the Russian tourists,, so don’t expect bacon or sausage there is a really nice pizza chicken food place round the back of the hotel up the street about 10 mins walk ( kfc ish ) there apart from that there is not much really to add ,, very disappointed has put me off coming back to turkey also the rep tries to push you in to buying trips that don’t match up to what they really are
