Excellent one week stay. Pool area is spotless, loads of sunbeds (many more stacked in the corner so no idea where one recent review was coming from). WiFi around the whole hotel is very good so no need to pay for expensive roaming.
Rooms are very clean and modernly decorated. Walls are thin as previously mentioned. Can hear noise from next door.
Credit to Brian of the animation team. Cracking guy and puts the hard yards in to get some audience involvement. Even allowed a Cheerleading team that were staying at the hotel to do a mini performance!
Food was good quality and varied. I feel qualified to comment due to my profession. Always fresh salads, show cooking (chicken, beef and fish), dishes kept under hot lights and cakes and ice cream for dessert. Even a big Nutella pump at breakfast.
Pool bar served some great snacks - buckets of chips, hot dogs, toasties etc and the drinks from the bar were consistent and of very good quality.
Location is perfect. 2 minutes stroll to the beach.
Feel there are some unjust comments on some posts but everybody has a right to an opinion I guess.
We really enjoyed our stay and with no complaints. Hope the hotel keep up the good work.
Very disappointing experience
I really wanted to like this hotel, especially as it’s advertised as a 4-star and has some good reviews but unfortunately our experience was nowhere near what we expected.
From the moment we arrived, things were difficult. We had travelled with children and after a delayed arrival, we were left waiting around for around an hour before we could even get into the restaurant to get them something to eat. The service throughout our stay was extremely disappointing, with staff often coming across as rude and unhelpful, and dinner was chaotic with long waits and very little variety.
The rooms were also a huge disappointment. The air conditioning was not working properly and one of the rooms was particularly bad. With the temperatures being so high, the rooms were uncomfortably hot and it was impossible to properly cool down. The cleanliness was also very average and definitely not what I would expect from a 4-star hotel.
The bunk beds in the children’s room were also a concern as they felt very unsafe and were shaking when the children moved around. With young children, this is not something you should have to worry about on holiday.
Overall, we were so unhappy with the experience that we decided to leave the hotel and find alternative accommodation. This was not a decision we took lightly, especially with children, but we simply did not feel comfortable staying.
What has made the situation even more frustrating is what has happened since. We contacted Loveholidays and initially understood that we were waiting for the hotel manager to sign off on the refund. We have now been told that the hotel is “investigating” the situation instead. We are still waiting for our money to be refunded, despite having had to pay for alternative accommodation ourselves and a verbal agreement given by the hotel.
They lied to us regarding them being able to check cameras when one of our bags went missing from the lobby, we spent the next morning at the police station (which is where they sent us) to be told management have the right to check.
I am writing this review because I genuinely feel that people considering booking this hotel deserve to know about our experience. I would strongly urge anyone thinking of staying here to read the reviews carefully and make your own decision before booking.
I appreciate that everyone’s experience can be different, but unfortunately ours was extremely disappointing and not what we expected from a 4-star MedPlaya hotel. I really hope the hotel takes the issues we experienced seriously and resolves our refund situation as soon as possible.
The hotel location is not the same as in google maps. The pool area was nice and clean, bar had good service. Hotel front desk was nice. The views were great. Rooms were more or less clean dust under the bead. Shower gel bottles says dove but they are rifelled with cheaper shampoo that's not good for the hair. Buffet was little over avarage, cold chain is not the best so got little bad stomach. The veal was nice. Not 4 star hotel but good 3 star hotel.
I was very satisfied with the hotel and stayed for four nights. The hotel was clean, the beds were comfortable, and the balcony was nice. The breakfast service was excellent with a huge variety of options. The hotel also has a swimming pool, which was a great bonus.
The only downside was the older man working at the reception around 00:30 when we arrived. Our group was tired after the trip, and the check-in process took about half an hour. However, it was still okay overall.
The hotel is located about a 20-minute walk from the train station that connects to Barcelona, and the train ride takes around one hour. A return ticket costs about €13.
Prices in the summer are overrated. 200euro/night
Room is standard, location is very to the beach.
Lines are long for breakfast. Food quality is ok.
Staff are helpful.
You could leave your bags in the storage with access to shower for after check out.
