Had a gorgeous week stay at Mare. The hotel is clean, tidy and modern, and close to the airport.
The staff are very welcoming and friendly, with great communication and sense of humour. We don't have a family but the hotel is well equipped for larger families of all ages and has lots of activities for kids/teens. As well as some stuff for adults - we did the paint and sip which was lots of fun and the film by the beach!
The food in the buffet was great and a fab range of cuisines with different themes each night! The Aroma a la carte restaurant was fantastic with big portions!
The main pool is great, warm and kept clean, (but slightly smaller than some other hotels) which means no adult inflatables are allowed.
Adult only pool is a great addition, would have been fab to carry that on in the buffet area and have an adult only section.
Overall a fantastic stay and will definitely return!
We thoroughly enjoyed our week here in early July. We got a last minute deal and were pleasantly surprised by the spacious room, located close to the quiet pool. The bed and bathroom were lovely - huge bed and fab shower/bath. Plenty of choice of pools and sunbed areas. We did witness the daft pre 8:30 queues but there were always sunbeds to be found after 9/9:30. The exclusive day beds are a treat and well worth paying extra for the comfort, space and treats like prosecco, fruit platter and giant cocktails (all waiter service), which we did on day 1. The little beach cove is beautiful and nice to swim in salt water sometimes. The food was very good, more choice than you could possibly need, always something interesting and super fresh. Even a special kids' buffet. The service was impeccable, with friendly and super attentive staff. We hired a car for a couple of days and would recommend the beaches around Polis. We also went into the mountains for a bit more of a local experience and found some fabulous views and tavernas. If you want to do nothing but swim, eat good food, drink cocktails and let all your worries go.... then this is the place. Have a lovely time (you will!) 💛
If you’re looking for a modern all-inclusive resort in Paphos with loads going on, this is definitely a good one to consider. It’s around 20 minutes by taxi from Paphos Harbour, so close enough to head in when you fancy a change of scenery.
We absolutely loved the hotel’s beach, its quiet, gorgeous and leading down to a beautiful little cove. The pool, however, is a slightly different story… welcome to the Hunger Games: Sunbed Edition.
The pool officially opens at 8:30am. By 8:31am, every single sunbed around the main pool has been claimed, inherited or placed under armed guard. Yes, we visited in August and yes, it was amusing to watch at first, but physical arguments over sunbeds while you’re calmly trying to eat your breakfast is probably not quite the entertainment programme anyone had in mind!
The absolute highlight of the hotel for us, though, was the wonderful Guest Relations Manager, Ausma. She is an absolute star and genuinely goes above and beyond to make sure guests are looked after and able to enjoy their stay to the fullest. Nothing seems too much trouble for her and she made a huge difference to our holiday.
So: beautiful resort, fabulous beach, plenty going on, good all-inclusive option (we were b&b but food was good especially in the on site burger restaurant where it was excellent) … just bring your sense of humour, your fastest running shoes for 8:30am, or make friends with Ausma!
Spa Treatment -
I attended the spa today for a 50-minute treatment. I have to say that all of the staff working at the spa were lovely, friendly and helpful, and the receptionist in particular was very professional and understanding when I raised my concerns.
Unfortunately, however, I was very disappointed with the massage treatment itself. I have had massages in many different countries and at a variety of hotels and spas, and this was the first time I have ever felt the need to complain about a treatment.
I booked a 50-minute massage, although unfortunately I cannot remember the exact name of the treatment. The therapist was a lovely person, but personally, I found that there was very little technique, structure or pressure throughout the massage. I felt that none of the areas or muscles I had hoped to have worked on were properly targeted, and the treatment did not feel tailored to my needs.
The therapist also spoke throughout much of the treatment. While she was friendly and pleasant, this is not something I personally want during a massage, as I go for treatments specifically to relax, switch off and fully immerse myself in the experience. I also asked twice for my hair not to be touched, but unfortunately this happened again.
By around halfway through the treatment, I honestly felt that I wanted to leave, as I was finding the experience a waste of both my time and money. Having now finished the treatment, I will need to book another massage elsewhere to properly target the areas I had originally hoped to address.
I want to be fair and acknowledge that, when I explained my experience, the receptionist was extremely professional, understanding and apologetic. I was offered a repeat treatment, which I declined, and instead was given a €50 face cream as compensation, which I appreciated.
Overall, while the staff were lovely and the way my complaint was handled was very good, I personally would not recommend the particular massage treatment I received, and unfortunately I would not choose to return to this spa based on my experience. Of course, everyone has different expectations and preferences when it comes to treatments, so this is simply my honest experience.
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
An outstanding hotel with one of the best dining experiences we’ve had. Every meal was fresh, delicious, and beautifully presented. The variety was excellent, and you could really tell that high-quality ingredients were used.
The staff were friendly, professional, and always happy to help, making us feel welcome throughout our stay. The hotel itself was clean, comfortable, and well maintained.
We had a wonderful experience and would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone looking for great hospitality and exceptional food. We look forward to coming back!
