An excellent resort located along the sandy coastline of Ammoudara, approximately 15 minutes by car from Heraklion Airport. As a landscaping professional, I particularly appreciated the beautiful, extensive gardens surrounding the resort. They are exceptionally well maintained and feature a wonderful variety of plants, including tamarisks (Tamarix), bougainvilleas, magnificent palm trees, hibiscus and plumbago. The staff were always attentive, helpful and friendly throughout our stay. During our week-long holiday, we had the opportunity to try all three of the resort’s excellent restaurants: Mediterraneo, offering generous and varied buffets for breakfast, lunch and dinner; the elegant Italian restaurant Dolce Vita; and Seaside Taverna, where we enjoyed an authentic Cretan dining experience. The resort’s beach is certainly not exceptional, but we found it better than those of several nearby four-star hotels. It was also clean and monitored throughout the day by dedicated security staff. The only real disappointment was the housekeeping service. There were three of us, and we had chosen a premium-category bungalow for our stay. Unfortunately, the service did not meet our expectations. On only one occasion were all three beds properly made. On other days, just one bed would be made while the other two were left untouched, or vice versa. On one occasion, our room was completely overlooked, with all three beds left unmade. The handling and replacement of towels were also inconsistent. This was particularly disappointing considering the category of accommodation we had chosen and the otherwise excellent standards of the resort. Despite this inconvenience, our overall impression of Agapi Beach Resort remains very positive. We enjoyed a wonderful week-long holiday and sincerely hope to return in the future!
It was our second visit, and once again we were not disappointed. They even gave us the same room as last year without us having to ask! We cannot describe how friendly and accommodating the staff are. Some of them even remembered us from last year, which was quite impressive considering the number of guests the resort welcomes every year. We love everything about Agapi, but what really stood out for us was the food, especially at the Seaside Taverna (the best gemista I've ever had!), and of course, the cats. I even added a photo of Tommy, the loveliest cat you'll ever meet. Thank you, Agapi Beach, for another wonderful stay. We can't wait to come back!
Our 5th stay and certainly not the last one, my children and I! Amazing team, so friendly, so helpful, so nice, without forgetting anyone, any department. The hotel in general, the location, the different outlets, the rooms, the private beach, the live show every single evening.....and an amazing quality and choice of food. Maybe a 4 stars hotel on the paper....but a 5 stars with their hospitality and smiles. You make us feel at home every time. Thank you again for everything! Best. Marwan Matta
We had a wonderful stay at Agapi Beach Resort and truly enjoyed our vacation in Crete. The hotel has a very relaxing atmosphere, beautiful gardens, great food, and an excellent location near the sea. We would especially like to thank Nadia at the reception. When we first arrived, our original room was not exactly what we expected, but Nadia was incredibly kind, professional, and helpful. The next day she arranged a much better and more spacious room with a beautiful garden view, which made our stay even more enjoyable. She also kindly allowed us a late check-out until 1 PM and, before our evening transfer to the airport, provided us with a room where we could shower and refresh ourselves after the beach. This level of care and hospitality made a huge difference for us and really showed how much the staff cares about guests. We also enjoyed the restaurants, the friendly service, the relaxing evenings by the beach bar, and the overall atmosphere of the resort. Thank you to the whole Agapi Beach Resort team for such a memorable holiday. We would definitely love to come back again!
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ We had a wonderful stay and would highly recommend this resort. What impressed us the most was the absolute kindness and professionalism of the staff. Despite the size of the property and the large number of guests, everything was managed flawlessly. The level of organization is truly remarkable, and every member of the team went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and cared for. The room had everything needed for a comfortable and relaxing stay, with all the essential amenities and a pleasant atmosphere. The only aspect worth mentioning is that the resort is located in an area of the island where constant winds create strong currents, making the sea quite rough most of the time. If you are looking for the calm, postcard-perfect beaches the island is famous for, you may need to travel to other parts of the island. If I really had to find a minor downside, it would be the quality of the beverages from the self-service dispensers, which could certainly be improved. Other than that, our experience was excellent. I have rarely encountered such exceptional kindness, efficiency, and organization anywhere else. A truly outstanding property that deserves every one of its five stars. Highly recommended! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
