⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Our 5th stay at Baia Lara – still our favourite!
This was our fifth time staying at Baia Lara Hotel, and once again we had a wonderful holiday.
We keep coming back because we love the atmosphere, the beautiful gardens, the pools, the beach and, most importantly, the friendly staff. Everyone is always welcoming and helpful, which makes us feel like we are coming back to a familiar place rather than just another hotel.
There is a great variety of food, the rooms are comfortable and the hotel is very well maintained. We also really appreciate the Guest Relations team, who are always attentive and happy to help whenever needed.
After five visits, we can honestly say that Baia Lara continues to be one of our favourite hotels in Antalya.
Thank you to the whole team for another great holiday. We will definitely be back! ❤️
Unfortunately, our experience at Baia Lara was badly affected by the attitude and customer service at reception.
We were staying here as a family and simply asked if we could extend our room until 6pm. We were perfectly happy to pay the €60 charge. The lady at reception was extremely rude and difficult to communicate with. I eventually asked if I could speak to someone else, and she simply said “NO.” After I insisted, she called another member of staff over, but unfortunately his attitude was even worse. Instead of trying to help or calmly explain things, everything became defensive and unnecessarily stressful.
The following day we went to pay the €60. Another receptionist told us we needed a physical card, so we went back to the swimming pool to get it. When we returned and paid, she then told us she also needed the room cards to update them. I politely said that when she asked us to get the payment card, she could have mentioned that we also needed to bring the room cards. Her response, in limited English, was basically: “You know, I give you that room, but I didn’t have to.”
Unbelievable attitude from reception staff.
I understand that receptionists do not own the hotel, but they represent the hotel. They are some of the first people you meet when you arrive and the last people you deal with when you leave. At a 5-star hotel, basic politeness, communication and customer service should not be too much to expect.
The food was also disappointing for what is advertised as a 5-star hotel. There were plenty of things available, but not enough quality or variety that made sense to us, so there is definitely room for improvement.
Some people may read this and think I have a problem with everything. I really don’t. We came here with our family to relax and enjoy our holiday, and we tried our best to do exactly that. But when you are paying for a 5-star hotel, you should be able to ask a simple question or make a polite request without staff immediately becoming defensive or rude.
The hotel itself has potential, and these problems can be fixed. Management seriously needs to look at the attitude and customer-service training of some of the reception staff because they are damaging the name of the hotel.
For us, the reception experience created unnecessary stress during what should have been a relaxing family holiday. Based on our experience, I would not choose to stay at Baia Lara again.
We stayed at Baia Hotel Lara for 2 nights at the end of October–early November, traveling from Germany with my boyfriend. Before winter, we wanted to enjoy the beautiful Antalya weather, the sea, and delicious food—and honestly, words are not enough.
By the time we were leaving, we were hugging and even kissing the reception staff goodbye. That says everything about how satisfied we were.
We would especially like to highlight our tennis coach, Fahri Bey. We took lessons as a couple and also had the chance to play freely on the courts. In such a short time, we saw incredible improvement, which made the experience even more enjoyable.
The food at the hotel was truly outstanding. There were more than 50 main dishes available, which makes you wonder whether anyone really needs that much variety—but the quality was easily 10/10. A special mention to the waiters who consistently served tea without ever missing a table—this level of attentiveness stood out.
Our room was spacious and comfortable. We also enjoyed having access to backgammon; we played both inside the hotel and at the beach during our free time.
There were a couple of points that did not sit well with us. Seeing someone walking around with a parrot on their shoulder for money did not feel right—it doesn’t reflect Antalya well and raises concerns regarding animal welfare.
On the other hand, we really appreciated that the hotel provides shelters for cats and that the staff actively feed and take care of them.
As Turkish guests, we also felt that the Turkish bath (hamam) was not warm enough—it definitely should be heated more.
Overall, we are very grateful for this experience and will definitely come back.
Short version :
- really helpful staff
- good food, drinks
- plenty ways to entertain youself
- relaxing
- bargain AGGRESSIVELY
- just enjoy your time
- kitties all around the hotel
We went to this hotel for a vacation with a group of 21 people. Originally, there were 19 of us, but two more joined later, and the hotel had no problem getting them a room with a great view. The rooms were clean and spacious, and the minibar was always full (even when we didn't request a refill, which was a nice plus). When the staff cleaned, they cleaned thoroughly and replaced every item we used or that was missing. I have stayed in 4- and 5-star hotels in Greece and Bulgaria, and they felt like ghettos compared to Baia Lara (check my other reviews and see for yourself).
The food was a bit of a coin flip; sometimes it was great, and sometimes it was underwhelming. I highly recommend the outdoor snack bars, as they mostly served more delicious food. Also, if you arrive late from sightseeing or other activities, you can go to the 3rd floor. There is another restaurant there that serves hot food from a menu late at night. On the ground floor (floor 0), you will find a sushi bar open from 4 PM, which is okay-ish. The cocktails were good, and at some bars, you could ask for special off-menu cocktails (sadly, I didn't try them, so you'll have to see for yourself).
The staff was very proactive with their service. At any bar that served food, at least one employee would ask if you wanted drinks and bring them right to your table (even if you were sitting at an unusual spot).
They have plenty of indoor and outdoor pools. Some of them are strictly 16+ so adults can relax (this rule also applies to the sauna and the steam room).
To keep you and your family entertained, there is a small arcade on the ground floor (which also leads to the beach, pools, and spa area). There are also different activities organized for each day and night. The hotel features a tennis court, a football pitch, a beach volleyball court, several table tennis tables, and a few swings.
Outside the hotel, you can find a small bazaar, but if you walk 2 km to the left, you will find a much bigger one. If you buy anything, bargain AGGRESSIVELY so you don't get scammed (speaking from experience). Shopkeepers will try everything to get you to buy their goods since they know you are a tourist, which can be a bit annoying.
Many kitties roam around.
All in all, it was a really great experience at this hotel. You really don't need to leave the resort, as the accommodation has plenty of ways to keep you entertained—unless you want to explore the country!
Lovely hotel but Lobby Bar finishes at 12pm but at 11.30, they start packing up whilst
There is a queue of people waiting. Bad service, loads of staff who could still be
Serving. Waited 15 minutes and there was 6 in the queue. Very badly managed
