Loved my stay in the hotel. Rooms were large, had all necessary facilities, were well attended to and cleaned, all inclusive food was great (almost the same selection each night, but loads to choose from). Pool great. I like location, far enough away from the busy main part with shops and beach but only 5 minuets walk away. My only gripes... Pool doesn't open until 10 and sunbeds locked up until the then. Not enough parasols. And entertainment could have been better.
We stayed in apartment 4 which is a very spacious 2 bedroom apartment. The entrance was on the ground floor by the pool, which was perfect for going to and from the apartment and the pool during the day. When you enter the apartment you have a downstairs toilet, large kitchen with fridge, 2 hobs and an oven, kettle. They had a little wash kit which included a sponge and wash up liquid. The lounge was very spacious with 2 sofas and a dining table also another table and chairs, it had double doors that led out to a huge balcony overlooking a road and mountains. There is no double glazing but it didn't bother us. Upstairs there are 2 bedrooms which are a good size and each has a balcony, the front bedroom is above the lounge and has the same double balcony and the back bedroom has a smaller balcony overlooking the pool. The upstairs bathroom had a large walk in shower. They had hand wash and shampoo at the property which was also a bonus. The staff are always polite and helpful. I can't comment on the food as we were self catering. There are so many nice places to eat in Santa Ponca and we prefer to eat out in the evening and just have fresh baguettes for lunch. This is our second time to Santa Ponca, we stayed at the sister hotel across the road called Jutlandia, the pools there are amazing but we only had a 1 bedroom apartment and the kids were on sofa beds in the lounge, now that they are older we needed more space so we stayed at the Plazamar. The pool is smaller but it still has a slide for older children and they enjoyed it. You are not allowed to use the pool at the other hotel which is a bit of a shame but that's the rule. The lifeguards arrived at 10am so the sunbeds are locked up until then, I really like this because there aren't any sunbed wars, you can get up leisurely and go and get a bed at 10am, there was always plenty of beds and umbrellas. We stayed in May half term, the weather was 27/28 degrees. The evening entertainment was not that great so we didn't really watch many shows. The location is perfect, just a couple of minutes walk to the centre and the beach. There is also a local grocery store a minute away or a larger supermarket a 2 minute drive away. The beach is very large and has sunbeds and umbrellas for hire. There is also a beach bar. Western Water Park is 10 minutes away, it has lots of slides for little ones up to thrill seekers. I would advise wearing water shoes as the ground gets burning hot. You can hire lockers for the day. We would stay at the Plazamar again.
I came here with my husband teenager and toddler we was self catering Overall we had a lovely holiday, but we wont be returning to this hotel Firstly the location was great the supermarket was around the corner and a short walk to the town were there was loads of shops and restaurants The food in the hotel was lovely and all the restaurants we ate in we never had a bad meal The rooms were basic but had everything we needed including air con, it felt abit cramped at times has all our beds was next to each other so had no privacy The walls are paper thin could hear every little sound coming from the rooms next to us and constant kids playing ball outside the rooms late at night with no parent supervision We didnt watch much of the entertainment has we felt they concentrated on older children never spoke to my little one even the later entertainment focused on kids one day they did water bombs in the swimming pool which I didnt think was a good idea with people who have little children in there The pools was a decent size no sunbed wars id say this hotel wasnt suitable for toddlers with there being loads of steps and no park so our little one couldn't run around much We did the katmandu park trip and marineland trip would highly recommend Some staff was friendly some was rude It had its good and bad points but it was a okay holiday
The Hotel is a very lovely and friendly place. The food has nice. The only down point is that everyone like to sit around the pool in the morning, so you can't get a place around the pool. We all call it sunbed wars. But it a very lovely place and not far from some beaches and some nice spots
Really loved staying here, hotel clean, staff friendly, good choice of food every day. Entertainment was good for kids and adults. Overall stay was great
