I rate my stay at the Elounda Water Park & Residence very highly. Fantastic food, atmosphere and the people who make this place so special. I’d particularly like to single out and thank Alesia Berdufi, who looked after our comfort from the moment of her incredibly warm welcome right through to our last day. The same goes for her brother in the restaurant and the barman in the amphitheatre. They all deserve a special bonus. It’s been a long time since I’ve seen such dedicated and helpful staff. The hotel’s facilities and service deserve a 5+. They always treated guests of all ages with a smile, respect and warmth. Thank you for all the unforgettable memories. The view from the hill is breathtakingly beautiful. If you’ve never been to Greece, you’ll fall in love with the country at first sight here. Everything was top-notch from A to Z – only the perpetually dissatisfied might have found something to complain about. I highly recommend it.

Just got back from a 7 day stay at Elounda residence.
We arrived at 1:30am , the staff were friendly and helpful on our arrival.
When we got to our room there was water and sandwiches in the fridge, we were very grateful for this .
They have a main buffet restaurant, which was different every day, we really enjoyed the food .
We booked into the 2 restaurants on site,I definitely recommend going to them .
All the staff were friendly and helpful during our stay.
The hotel has a great family hotel vibe .
Yes it is on a hill with lots of steps ,which might not been suitable for people with mobility problems.
I didn't find it an issue .
This was our 2nd time at the hotel we will definitely be returning ❤️
We had the most marvellous holiday on Crete despite there being two days of rain. The Elounda Residence is by far one of the most warm and welcoming hotels we have ever stayed in where nothing was too much trouble. The room was a double apartment with a lovely sea view. It was clean, spacious and comfortable. The bathroom was a little tired but was fully functioning. We stayed here on an all inclusive basis and could not fault the food or drinks. The food was plentiful, varied and tasty, catering for Adults and children alike, with different choices every day for Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner. The fresh fruit at breakfast was amazing. The facilities at the hotel are good for both Children and Adults. With two pools and a waterpark with amazing waterslides, also varies sports and kids entertainments.
Whilst staying here my husband developed a problem with his knees that meant he was a bit limited on walking. They went out of their way to find him a suitable walking aid which made his life a lot easier and meant we were not limited to staying in the hotel. I have to commend the attitude and friendliness of all of the hotel staff that we met. In particular we would like to thank the reception staff for their help including Paul, Chrisa, Chrisoula, Theodoros and Eleni. We would like to recommend this hotel to anyone who would like a relaxing and happy holiday in Crete.
A lovely resort away hidden away near the hills of Elounda and it was an amazing experience.
The staff were amazing from the moment we arrived to the second we left. There were a few mentions that made this hotel amazing apart from the staff.
The shuttle service they offered, the buggy to the rooms and food were also lovely.
A few things I would recommend to make people's stay even better
1. Too much salt in the pool, felt we were in the sea rather than a resort pool
2. It would've been nice if they had a overnight food counter (self service maybe?) - I had to order food when we came back from an evening out
3. ATM
4. Rooms to be cleaned daily - not a massive issue as we left it clean but would've been nice
5. Activities at the resort for kids and adults - there is a lack of this, although dinner service was good and had a performance act, people like to stay at the resort, majority of the evenings we went out
Overall it was a lovely experience and a beautiful town, with amazing people.
Thanks again!
Spinalonga (Greek: Σπιναλόγκα) is an island in the Gulf of Elounda, north-eastern Crete, in the municipality of Agios Nikolaos, Lasithi, next to the town of Plaka in the area of Kalydon. It is near the Spinalonga peninsula ("large Spinalonga") – which often causes confusion as the same name is used for both. The island was maintained as a fortress for centuries under Venetian rule.
Psychro Cave (Greek: Σπήλαιο Ψυχρού) is an ancient Minoan sacred cave in the Lasithi plateau in the Lasithi district of eastern Crete. Around the beginning of 20th century, several scholars identified Psychro with Dikte, a name used by some ancient authors to refer to the location of Zeus's upbringing. Multiple subsequent scholars have disagreed with this theory; Mieke Prent, writing in 2005, desc
Mirabello Bay (also Bay/Gulf of Mirabello/Mirabella) is an embayment of the Sea of Crete on the eastern part of Crete in present-day Greece. It is the largest bay of the Greek islands and the fifth largest in the Mediterranean Sea. The tourist town Agios Nikolaos overlooks the bay.
Gournia (Greek: Γουρνιά) is the site of a Minoan palace complex in the Lasithi regional unit on the island of Crete, Greece. Its modern name originated from the many stone troughs that are at the site and its original name for the site is unknown. It was first permanently inhabited during the Early Minoan II periods (approximately between 2650 and 2100 B.C.E) and was occupied until the Late Minoan
