Great hotel with super fast service, helpful staff and great entertainment group. The pools were always clean and looked after, there were activities to compete in throughout the day which was lots of fun. The excursions can easily be booked in the hotel and the pick up points were only across the road. There's a hill to get to the main door but not too bad (manual wheelchair will need to be careful perhaps). The walk to the town was not long but was a hill with plenty of shops and stops on the way to break it up a bit. Great variety of food at all times (i am a picky eater and did not struggle at all) would visit again.
We’ve just got home from 11 days at the Fergus hotel and we could not fault it! Beautiful hotel with beautiful views, the rooms were kept clean and comfortable and the air con was brilliantly ice cold. All the staff were fabulous and created a very happy experience and environment. A special shout out to Esther from the entertainment team as she went above and beyond with us! Esther always stopped to chat and get to know us and was always so positive and smiley, she was utterly amazing and everyone loved her. The entertainment on a night was great and suitable for everyone and found it great that it was different every night. The tropical party was a highlight for us it was brilliant! The food was great sometimes small things such as some plates and glasses being dirty but on a whole was great and again enjoyed it was different every night and new things. The only negative comment would be the sunbed ward in a morning as people were literally queuing to put towels down from 7:50am and people would put towels down but not be on them till afternoon, I would probably say there is nowhere near enough sunbeds for the amount of people there, I understand there is the pool and beds up on the rooftop but you have to pay for a bed and pay at the bar despite being all inclusive. Overall great experience, lovely location easy enough to get everywhere as reception staff would call a taxi and to the bottom of the hill it would be around €4 and taxi ranks on most corners so very easy to navigate and get around. Would definitely return!
Good hotel at the rear of the resort. Rooms and balcony are good. Cleaned every day. The reception, poolside, bars and recreational areas are all very tidy. The food is decent and there’s a reasonable selection. I wouldn’t say Puerto de la Cruz is the most attractive of resorts but if you decide to come here, the Fergus Hotel offers a reasonable option and I don’t think most people would be disappointed.
This hotel is nice, but I would not say it is 4 stars as portrayed to us.
The rooms are nice, and housekeeping keep them tidy. We were disappointed to find there was no tea or coffee facilities in the room.
While staying, we unfortunately had some issues with school children making noise in the early hours of the morning and knocking on our doors before running away, it took 3 times of asking for the hotel to finally resolve this.
The food is ok. Nothing special, and even though breakfast is open until 10:30, they stop bringing fresh food out at around 9:00.
The other disappointing thing about this hotel is there are no water fountains or places to get tap water through the night, they are all switched off. So your only option is to go to the overpriced vending machine to get lukewarm water.
The all inclusive bar stops serving at 23:00, and then you must pay. We found at around 22:40 the service becomes very slow, it did feel like somewhat of a ploy to get some more money. From guests.
The pools aren’t very clean, near the edges there is a large build up of grime and dirt, that doesn’t feel very nice on your feet. There are no inflatables or ball games allowed.
Location is adequate, a short walk down a very steep hill to the sea side and restaurants. But it is a challenging walk back up the hill.
The staff were all friendly.
I have stayed at this hotel a few times in the past; the updates done to the property work really well. The staff are flawless. Thank you all for such a great time! The location is great to explore nearby places on foot.
