Definitely not five-star food. We're now on day six of our holiday, and every single day the pool bar and beach bar have served exactly the same thing for lunch: burgers. No pizza, no jacket potatoes, no wraps, no variety—just burgers. And they're not even proper burgers. No cheese, or toppings, and nothing like you'd expect from a five-star hotel. The main restaurant hasn't been much better. Lunch and dinner are almost identical every day. It's a selection of fried fish, one type of meatball served in different shapes, sorts of stews, and little else. Although there appears to be plenty of food, it's mostly the same dishes repeated day after day with very little variety or imagination. For a hotel advertised as five-star, we'd expected a much better dining experience. Families staying for one or two weeks need choice, especially at mealtimes. Sadly, the food has been the biggest disappointment of our holiday and falls well below what we'd expect from a five-star resort. Also no kids meals, very bad!!
Good experience of the hotel, all kept very clean. Staff are all very helpful, however they do not always align to the advertised time plans. For example the Top Bar would close 10 minutes before the advertised time and refuse to serve stating that the area closes as 1 not the bar. The slides would close at 3:55 not the advertised 4. Much of this I feel is because the staff just want to get finished. Food was to a reasonable standard, however, 90% of the food is the same day on day with the main part of the meal changing. I would say the mains were mid standard (not high) with no main meal option for vegetarians (my wife struggled with main meal day on day. The pool area was kept clean and tidy day in day out. Easy access to the bar and food. The poolside music was mainly poor with much of the time having real loud music that played for short periods of time (1 minute per track) with talking over the top constantly. I would not consider it background music, I wish they just had it as background calm music. Spa was fantastic with helpful and friendly staff. We used the facilities throughout our stay. Activities booked through the hotel were really good, but it needs noting that there are many hidden charges and every day is about the companies taking pictures and selling them at very high prices. We paid €100 for photos from our pirate trip for example. The diving was great, jeep Safari I would suggest to any family with kids. The hotel can arrange transport for shopping but you need to be aware that they bring you to a specific shop that you are unable to leave. It’s not a shopping trip but a trip to a shop. The name of the trip is del boys and that is exactly what you get. I purchase some cheap sun glasses that broke in the sun, also some cheap slip-ons that broke after 2 days. Hotel Location is good from the beach, but is far from Alanya centre and therefore no local shopping or choice of restaurants.
A very nice hotel and very good cleanliness, hats off to the cleaning lady. The food is diverse and very tasty, very good desserts to taste. Very sociable waiters and bartenders. We had an exceptional stay and we look forward to coming back!
I noticed my fellow Brits giving this lovely hotel bad reviews based on silly expectations of Turkish hotels so I thought id set the record straight a bit. Over the last 8 years I have visited Turkey a dozen times with my family each time a different area and hotel. So I feel im qualified to explain some things. Turkish 5 star is not your English 5 star, do not expect the Ritz. Someone mentioned not enough info on food for allergies etc but I think if people have a genuine allergy they will check with the hotel in advance and get this information beforehand. None of the hotels I've stayed at ever show allergies, they have the name of the food in about 5 diffeent languages though i think that's enough info. But if in doubt guys just ask. My son turned 10 whilst we were staying here and the hotel kindly left a cake and card in our hotel room which made my sons day. The hotel is exceptionally clean. There is no grime anywhere. The rooms and bathrooms were exceptionally clean as were the corridors. The rooms and furniture were pretty modern. There's an electronic key thing on the wall which you could change a sign outside your door to show a do not disturb sign or ready for cleaning sign to light up. Food is aplenty here and very nice quality. It caters a lot to the neighbouring countries from which they get most of their visitoes from yes, such as Russians or Germans. But that doesn't mean there isn't anything for brits to eat. And to be honest dont you want to try different goods when youre abroad? There is a lot to choose from. The reception staff were very helpful. The night we arrived our holiday provider had messed up but they helped put us up until it got sorted the following day. The member of staff was a lovely guy i meant to take his name but all I can emember is his name begun with a Y. Senna on reception was also lovely and helpful. As well as breakfast lunch and dinner you can have burger chips onion rings fries ice cream etc at 12 til 4 poolside and burger chips and drinks at the beach cafe 12 til 4 too. The beach is just a 3 minute walk away and is beautiful. The staff beachside were amazing too especially the lovely guy in the back who did the cooking and Abdullah and Mustafa at the front who served drinks etc. The animation team did a great job on the evenings and put on great shows. Probably not the best shows I have seen in Turkey but def up there. There was a nice collection of shops near the hotel as well as a șok and migros. You can get a taxi into town for around 500 to 600TL there is a taxi button just near the security gate. They came pretty quick every time we pressed it . This was our second time in Alanya so we didn't do much of the touristy things we did the first time, we made use of the relaxing facilities in the hotel . The Spa was lovely and special mention to IlkNur, Dila and Reve. Best massage ive had in Alanya. There is a billiards room which you can make use of, you have to get the cues from reception, (missing chalk though!) Got a mani and pedi from a lady who worked in the barbers shop for 35 euros she did a great job. Overall a lovely holiday and I would def recommend to others and would go again. Thank you to the staff who made our holiday so lovely.
So the diamond hill bit of a mixed bag, not a 5 star as most will know it. Location is good for Alanya Food is very mixed desserts and the patisserie is lovely but every coffee machine outside of there is awful. Idk what the flavour or beans or what is different but it’s bad. We had a gluten allergy in our party the relations manager was helpful but could I find a chef or anyone who would understand that we needed to know what had gluten absolutely not it was me basically using google lens and hoping for the best. Did come down to the night snack food covered in flies. Put us off massively. And finding a table with cutlery can be a challenge at times later on. Pool was very clean entertainment at night didn’t bother with but the animation team are nice but would love to know what clubs they go to in advance as we had to miss the garden on week one and they didn’t go again and count say where they were going either until the day. Beach is underrated Abdulla was lovely and remembered us. Think the chef had a few tantrums but he was very professional. Was odd when I called up to get an iron and told we would have to pay to have it ironed for us like what is up with that. And also for some reason later in the afternoon they didn’t like to turn any lights on so was very dark. We did ask to have the room later and was told they were full the night after not even to pay for it, we then got told we could use the SPA showers which were hotter than the sun and we had to then find other showers in the spa outside of the changing rooms to shower in a normal temperature. Also the shower in the room kept overflowing and turned into a swimming pool every night and shaver plug was broken so I could not use during trip. Other than that it’s ok hotel but would I go back? No.
