I think this hotel would do itself a favor if it was branded as a four star hotel and leave fewer people disappointed.
The first room we received was nothing like the rooms advertised in the pictures. Simple, with a blank wall and a tiny window overlooking a small hideous backyard. The bathroom sink was in the middle of the room, giving student dorm vibes. I think the hotel should advertise these kind of rooms separately from the rooms that have a closed bathroom and advertise the rooms accordingly.
Luckily, the friendly frontdesk staff managed to find us a better room with a separate bathroom and I am very grateful for that.
The breakfast was also disappointing for a five star hotel. The first morning we could choose between three kinds of bread: toast, extremely dark bread, bread with berries. The second morning the bread with berries was exchanged for bread with truffles. Sounds fancy but we would have appreciated a more "normal" bread or buns to choose from. The buffet breakfast has fewer variety and lower quality than most four star hotels I have stayed at. The coffee from the machine is almost not drinkable, you can't have barista coffee even if you are willing to pay for it. The a la card breakfast menu has good poached eggs and caprese salad. The waffles are extremely sweet though and come with whole chunks of sugar in the dough. All sweet pastries are either extremely sweet or have no sugar at all..
What makes the breakfast bearable is Johnny, who is super eager, friendly and tries very hard to give you a good experience. The rest of the breakfast staff look super unhappy though and as if they were just thrown out of bed.
Pullmans seem to have a weird towel policy, as its not the first time I experiencd that their rooms come with two large and two small towels only. No separate towel to wash your hands, no face towels. As I prefer to wash my face with a fresh towel, we asked for another towel at the front desk but it never arrived. We ended up taking extra towels from the cleaning staff's trollies whenever we needed them.
I stayed at the hotel to celebrate my birthday. Even though the booking was in my name and they received my passport upon check-in, I did not receive any form of birthday surprise. I know some guests received surprises, and maybe you need to have an Accor status level to do so. But I was still disappointed to not have received even a small card saying happy birthday.
Overall just a very disappointing experience. It is my second stay at a Pullman and the second time I am disappointed, so I will just stay away from Pullmans in the future.
stayed at this hotel in the very heart of Riga’s old town, and it was absolutely wonderful. The building was beautifully renovated, with a fantastic design and bright, vibrant colors. Everything was top-notch: a professional staff who helped with everything, a quick early check-in, and a fantastic breakfast. The spa and pool were also amazing. I am very grateful and would highly recommend this hotel.
I had a very pleasant stay at Pullman Riga Hotel. The rooms were spacious and felt fresh, as they seem to be newly renovated, which made the stay even more comfortable. The breakfast options were amazing, with a great variety to choose from. What stood out was the availability of some traditional items on the breakfast table, which really made the start of the day special.
The staff were courteous and helpful throughout the stay, always ready to assist with a smile. The location of the hotel is also very convenient, making it easy to explore the city.
Overall, it was a great experience, and I would definitely consider staying here again.
This is my absolute favourite hotel in Riga- it has a great location, rooms are super comfortable, breakfast is really great (do not forget - you can order stuff in addition to the buffet offer (and buffet offer is already great - maybe lacking smoked salmon and cream cheese, but am saying this only because I like both very much and they are not on the buffet :)))! After the renovation in 2025, the place has been made even more warm than it was before. It is great for a business trip, but also for a vacation and a visit to Riga - all is on a walking distance!!!
We stayed at the Pullman Old Town Riga for one week and had a very pleasant stay overall.
The hotel is located right in the historic government and parliament district, which makes it a great base for exploring Riga's Old Town. Due to the location, taxis cannot always stop directly in front of the hotel, but the walk is only very short.
We stayed in a Superior Double Room on the sixth floor at the end of the corridor. The room was nicely furnished and comfortable, although it was smaller than expected for this category. Housekeeping did an excellent job throughout our stay. The room was always spotless, and we appreciated the two complimentary bottles of water provided every day.
The only aspect we found somewhat inconvenient was the bathroom layout and size. The sink and shower area are separated from a rather small toilet compartment, which felt a little cramped.
On the seventh floor, guests can enjoy a small swimming pool and a sauna, which are nice additions after a day of sightseeing.
We did not book breakfast, as we preferred to explore Riga and enjoy breakfast at different cafés around the city each morning.
Overall, we felt very comfortable during our stay and would recommend the Pullman Old Town Riga to travelers looking for a clean, well-maintained hotel in an excellent location.
