4 nights in this hotel ! Half board ! Rooms ok! Bit dated and clunky furniture! Comfy bed though and nice walk in shower! Reserved a lake view room and it made the stay amazing! The spa complex is great and included in price! Breakfast is 7am till 10am so no rush if you need a layin! 3 minute walk to the lake side and bars/cafes make it one of the best placed hotels! I would recommend this hotel!
Do not EVER waste your time and money on spa services at this hotel. This was the absolute worst massage I have ever had in m entire life. Overly oily, no pressure or therapeutic value, phlegmy gross throat clearing every 10 seconds, and absolute explicit refusals to honor our wishes for the massage. My wife and I both had the same therapist right after each other and she was incredibly unskilled, rude, and refused even the most basic requests such as increasing massage pressure and firmness and focus areas we requested after several days hiking left us sore and in need of therapy. There was literally zero therapeutic value. I asked her to increase pressure and work on some soreness in my legs and lower back and she literally said “No, medium pressure only” and proceeded to give the weakest nothing massage of my life. Medium pressure would have felt like a jackhammer compared to what this person was performing. My wife had the same experience. The person at the wellness reception was somewhat apologetic but offered nothing in recompense, and still charged use 25 Euro each for the saunas which is crazy in itself for hotel guests. This person giving massage at Rikli has no business working in any customer facing role or massaging anyone, anywhere, ever, much less in a 4-star hotel. Other amenities were ok and as advertised, but this really ruined our stay as we chose this place specifically for its spa and services. Don’t waste your time and money here, there are several better options in the area such as Hotel Bohinj which we absolutely loved and doesn’t gouge you for the saunas. This was a definite sour note to end what was otherwise an absolutely amazing trip to Slovenia and the Triglav/Bohinj/Bled and Ljubljana regions. Other info on the hotel. Other staff was helpful. Laundry service was fast and had a quick, same day turnaround. Saunas were nice, but the hottest Finnish dry sauna was out of order with no mention at reception. Pool area was overrun with kids, so we avoided this. Rooms were ok, but a little underwhelming for 4-star and price point. AC was barely functional and room was quite warm, even at night. Water temperature and pressure in the room constantly fluctuates making showers not enjoyable going from cool to scalding to luke warm to scalding to cool. Breakfast was ok, but not quite up to 4-star standard especially in Europe for quality and selection. Bar was ok, but kind of weirdly setup in the lobby. Front desk staff was helpful, provided late night bottled water on request. Check in and check out was easy. Rating explanation: Rooms two stars because I would consider them below average for a 4-Star. Not awful, but not good. Did not meet expectations. Service: Inconsistency should be eliminated in 4 and 5-star stays. In some ways expectations were met, but in many others such as breakfast, utilities in the room such as water and AC, and the horrendous spa it just makes me question what I’m not seeing as far as cleanliness and hygiene. I would probably let some of this slide if not for the spa, just so disappointing knocks the whole place to 1 star for service. Location: Great. Beautiful views of lake and castle and island, easy walk to Bled waterfront and restaurants/cafes/bars. It is my opinion that this hotel is resting on the fact that it lies in a hot tourist destination without holding up a level of service that matches the price tag. This place could be great with proper management that enforces standards and demands excellence. Due to its location and list of amenities, could probably charge double if it could elevate itself to true 4-star or 5-star standard. You just hate to see it with all that potential.
Very good hotel Staff very helpful and polite. Breakfast was limited but as described, so no issues for us. Rooms are comfortable, however 2 single duvets on a double bed was odd. But an incredible view from 419, see image 2. Free use of the pool area was good on those poor weather days. We very much enjoyed our stay in this amazing country.
What a wonderful place in a fairy tale of setting! Set in the Alps, this hotel has gorgeous views! The food at breakfast was amazing, so much choice, and their buffet in the evening also offered alot! The staff were very friendly and the room was brilliant, a balcony overlooking the lake. Super spacious! Loved the wellness centre with indoor pool and sauna too. 100% recommend!
Nice hotel. Breakfast option good. Rooms were nice and spacious. Air conditioning was not strong enough to sufficiently cool the room. WiFi was so up and down it was more trouble than it's worth to try and use it. Balcony was roomy but chairs were a little but uncomfortable.
