Very disappointing experience – I would not recommend this hotel
We stayed at SOL Nessebar Bay in August, and unfortunately, our experience was extremely disappointing.
One of the biggest problems was the swimming pools. The water in all of the pools was freezing cold – in the middle of August. We came here with children expecting to spend a large part of our holiday enjoying the pools and water facilities, but the temperature of the water made this very unpleasant.
Another major disappointment is that almost every additional activity costs extra money. Billiards, bowling, games and other activities are not included. Even if you want to use a jacuzzi, you are expected to pay a significant additional fee. For a family staying at an all-inclusive resort, this creates the unpleasant feeling that you constantly have to take out your wallet despite already having paid for an all-inclusive holiday.
Unfortunately, the same feeling continued in the room. There was not even coffee provided in the room, and other very basic items, such as sugar, were provided in insufficient quantities. These may seem like small details, but together they contributed to a much bigger problem: throughout our stay, we had the strong impression that the hotel was trying to cut costs wherever possible, while at the same time looking for every opportunity to charge guests extra.
The food was also very disappointing. We found the quality poor, repetitive, and simply not enjoyable.
Another serious issue was the attitude of the staff. Many staff members were unfriendly, unwelcoming and at times simply unpleasant. Instead of feeling welcomed as guests, we often felt as though basic questions or requests were an inconvenience. A resort can have plenty of facilities, but when the overall attitude towards guests feels cold and unfriendly, it has a major impact on the entire holiday experience.
Overall, this was simply not an enjoyable place to spend a family holiday. The freezing pools, poor food, constant extra charges, lack of basic amenities and unfriendly attitude of many staff members made the whole experience frustrating rather than relaxing.
The overall impression was that the hotel tries to provide as little as possible while finding as many opportunities as possible to charge you extra. I would not recommend this hotel, and I would definitely not return.
An excellent hotel for a family vacation. Good pricing, great location. Aquapark is fun for the kids. Evening activities for kids are very entertaining. Perfect place for relaxation. Food is ok, not great, but you don't need to worry about the timing of feeding cause during the whole day there are plenty of option. Spanish cousine, a Chinese restaurant, Fish and chips, Burger corner and Biergarten are all available in the complex. Rocky aquaslide is very much fun for the kids. The beach is very close and also has options for food /paninis/ and beverages as well as ice cream. The beach itself is small. Maybe during high season will be too crowded. Sunbeds available only for Sol Palace guest and not for Sol Mare and Sol Bay guests. Apart from that not much difference in activities between the two hotels. I think Palace only has one BBQ restaurant more plus some shops. On the beach you have some inflatables for children. I can only suppose that during high season sunbeds close to the Aquapark won"t be enough for everyone. Parking spaces also. Parking fee is 8 euros for 24 hours. Definately recommend it, especially if not in high season.
The downside is that the beach is very small and only the SOL Palace guests have reserved lounges.
Otherwise, the included aqua park does the trick.
Very clean.
Very beautiful and quality decorated rooms.
Extraordinary food.
The All Inclussive drinks paette is poor, and the beer is mediocre.
But the service is great (except some cheeky barthenders).
If you're coming by car be weary, parking is quite expensive.
The rooms very nicely renovated. Otherwise, the reception is still with the old design. I did not like the fact that we had to pay for parking, EV charging extra and the room we reserved was supposed to be with a sea view but we had a partial sea view.
Mediocre. First off, paid parking with not enough parking spots. Half of the staff do not speak English or Bulgarian, including the lifeguard. The beach is tiny and dirty with the steps leading to it stinking of urine. Five TV channels, no coffee maker in the room, no iron and ironing board. Half of the meals in the main restaurant are frozen, processed food. Kids entertainment - 10 minutes- 10 euro. The cotton candy machine doesn’t return change. No poolside snacks past 3pm. A few games in the kids club area that will cost you between 2 to 4+ € per game and that’s it. Save your hard-earned money and spend it someplace else.
