We had an absolutely fantastic stay from start to finish! The staff were incredibly friendly, polite and welcoming. Everyone was always smiling and helpful, which really made a difference. Unfortunately, this is not something you experience everywhere in Bulgaria, so it was especially nice to see here. The hotel has everything you could possibly need for a perfect family holiday. The entertainment and activities for children are excellent – our kids absolutely loved it! The food was also a big highlight. There is a great variety every day, with plenty of choices, and much of the food is freshly prepared right in front of you. Everything was very well organized and we genuinely enjoyed every part of our stay. I honestly cannot think of anything to complain about. We will definitely be coming back. Highly recommended, especially for families with children!
We had a nice family holiday at Sol Nessebar Palace and found the hotel to be a very child-friendly resort with plenty to offer. The entertainment team is fantastic and really makes an effort to keep both children and adults entertained throughout the day. There are also lots of swimming pools, and the aquapark is absolutely brilliant for children. A special mention goes to the lifeguards, who take their job seriously and keep a close eye on everything. The all-inclusive food is good, with enough variety to keep things interesting during the stay. The self-service drink stations are very convenient, with short queues and easy access to drinks. However, the quality and taste of the drinks are somewhat disappointing, probably because of the self-service system. Our room was clean and generally in good condition. One small disappointment was that there were only paper cups instead of proper glasses. The ventilation/air-conditioning system could also benefit from a thorough cleaning and maintenance. Unfortunately, some issues that were already mentioned in reviews a year ago still have not been resolved. The Wi-Fi throughout the entire resort is really poor and was one of the biggest frustrations during our stay. The gym also definitely needs a makeover, with several pieces of equipment still broken or in poor condition. Overall, Sol Nessebar Palace is a great choice for families with children, mainly thanks to the excellent entertainment, fantastic aquapark, numerous pools and strong focus on pool safety. If the hotel addressed the recurring maintenance issues—especially the Wi-Fi, gym equipment and air-conditioning/ventilation—it could be an even better resort.
The hotel may seem like a 10/10 at first glance. The food is decent, the pools are nice, and the sea view from the room is beautiful. However, there are some serious issues. First of all, the beach is not cleaned regularly, which looks very unpleasant. This was one of the main reasons I was disappointed with the hotel. More importantly, my daughter suffered from what appeared to be food poisoning and spent the entire night vomiting. Unfortunately, she was not the only one. We saw several other guests being sick, including a young girl who vomited in the elevator the next day. Housekeeping staff were also removing soiled mattresses from rooms. I cannot say for certain what caused these illnesses, but there seemed to be a significant number of guests experiencing similar symptoms. I would advise families with children to be cautious and pay close attention to food hygiene and pool water quality.
None of the restaurants other than buffet restaurant is open on June 5th while the hotel is pretty busy. The beach is full of seaweed that is not cleaned. Piles of seaweed that smells and has insects flying around. Other beaches near by are clean by the way. Rooms are OK. Breakfast is average with cheap sausages and cheese. While lunch and dinner are quite good. Aqua park is good and lifeguards actually make sure that children are sliding safely. Pools are clean and well maintained.
We had booked a 10 night stay with a few other families 20 in total, 10 adults and 10 kids. We all stayed at the Palace, which gave us the best access and also plenty of space to hang out when the weather wasn't kind to us! A fair bit if activities nearby with Nessbar Old Town, Sunny Beach and a nearby Aqua rides, which some of the families used and loved. There is a good selection of waterslides onsite, so needing to watch the timings, but generally works well and lifeguards tends to keep an eye on some of them, some more than others. The entertainment was good, ours were too old for the kids show,but loved the bigger shows and saw it several times. The buffets are good and offer a nice and fresh variety of foods, hot and cold. The buffet is kept tidy and clean at all times, with lots of service staff and chefs around. The seating is reset quickly to allow for others to sit. There is of course peak periods, so coming early is always recommended.
