We were a few days in this hotel, and I would rank this as a 3 star out of 5 hotel.
Positives:
+Hotel location is great. Everything is close.
+Hotel has a good athmosphere.
+The breakfast was pretty great, with tons of choises.
+We didn't hear any noice from anywhere, so it is probably pretty well sound proofed.
+Sauna was enjoyable.
Negatives:
-We picked this hotel, as it had mentioned that there is an AC. And there indeed is an AC in the hotel room, but it was very weak, even on the strongest settings. During our visit, it was mainly sunny days, but only about 18c outside, and our hotel room was constantly between 25.5-26.5c on night. If the outdoor temperatures were over 20c, I would definitely pick another hotel, as it was already harder to sleep when the room temperature was 26.5c.
-The hotel clearly has some problems with the air quality / mold, as my nose was running every morning. Also I noticed that people were sneezing a lot. And on the spa area, there were clear smell of "moldy cellar", so at least there is some clear problems with air quality.
-Even though the breakfast lasted until 10:00, they stopped restocking lots of stuff around 8.45-9.15. Usually a little bit after 9 things like better coffee, pancakes, cheese/hams, croissants, and jams were finished. You definitely want to get around 8:15-8:30 to be able to get to enjoy everything freely.
-The waitress staff during the breakfast were super fast to collect plates. I literally carried a plate filled with food to my table, and went to get coffee, and found out they had collected it already.
-There is only one jacuzzi, and it is pretty small. Like with 2 adults and you can still sit somewhat comfortably, but with 3 and you are already pushing the limits. And since the spa is freely available only during the morning, it is most likely going to be filled with people. Though you can reserve it during evening for something like 100e for 2 hours.
-No way to throw water in the sauna, as there was no bucket or anything. Even though there were mentions to only use water to throw on it.
-Hotel overcharged us when we ordered smaller pillows.
-Cleaning lady probably mistook my personal pillow cover compression bag for trash, since it vanished during our trip.
-Our room floor carpet was somewhat dirty. There were white and brown spots around the floor. Also noticed some larger dirt patches around the corridor floors.
We met one very enthusiastic member of the staff, who was a joy to talk to. Others were okay, but he gets five stars. The room was nice and the morning buffet, as well, although the buffet was confusingly arranged 😅
It's a spacious, large hotel bustling with activity. Below the pros and cons.
-:
- you can hear the plumbing very clearly (when a neighbor flushes the toilet, takes a shower, or turns on the faucets)
- in addition to the point above - poor soundproofing: you can hear neighbors, people walking down the hallway, and what’s happening outside the window
- because of how loud the plumbing is in the room and the poor soundproofing, I woke up suddenly twice around 5-6 a.m. because one of the neighbors was making noise with the water - they left the faucet running for about 20 minutes, and I could hear the water the whole time; I couldn’t sleep
- the room door is hard to open, it's very heavy
- the pillow is uncomfortable, although you can order a different one for an extra fee
- breakfast was monotonous; there were almost no desserts, just donuts and apple pie
- sometimes there weren’t enough seats at the breakfast tables; I’d come at 8 a.m. and sometimes had to walk around looking for a spot, then wait until someone vacated a seat
- no slippers in the room
+:
- the single room is small, but I think it’s quite cozy; there’s a nice windowsill where you can sit
- there are several elevators that arrive fairly quickly
- there’s a bar at the lobby where you can order snacks and drinks
- the location: a couple minutes’ walk from the train station, about 15 minutes from the Old Town
- there’s a shopping center near the train station with lots of cafes and grocery stores
- it said the tap water is safe to drink, but I didn’t take the risk- I bought water from the store. but if the tap water really is safe to drink, that’s great
- breakfast is served for quite a long time: from 7 to 10 a.m. on weekdays and from 7 to 11 a.m. on weekends
- the bathroom has a fairly large shelf where you can place cosmetics and various toiletries
The room honestly looked like 2010s 4 star room, but it was clean and nice so cannot complain about it. I loved the reception service. The breakfast food could have been a bit fresher
When we came to the hotel at night we were asked to wait for half an hour because the system was not working. The room was okay, for the price i expected something more. You could also hear almost everything while in the room, the walls are thin. The door was really heavy, still you could hear people going isnide and out from their rooms. It felt like people were stomping while walking in the hallways even though they were walking normal. We paid for the “spa” which is a scam. On the site there is only stated that you can use the spa daily for 4 hours for free. We were informed by the staff that the the 4 hours were only from 7am to 11am and if we wanted to use it some other time you would need to pay extra. The spa was a dissapoinment, the sauna was okay but the jacuzzi was cold (???) and really small, 4 people could fit there. The hotel looks good and a good location but these things are expected. It presents itself as some luxury but the only luxury you get are the looks of the hotel and the location as i mentioned earlier. Very dissapointed. Would only reccomend if you have tight budget , if you want a real luxury or quality go spend your money elsewhere. This hotel is the perfect example of a good presentation and bad experience.
