Superb. The Topaz is so clean and the staff are very helpful. I had a mixup with my room and the hotel sorted it out within 24 hours. The pool can get busy with paying locals but there are plenty of sun beds. Bring your own towels! Breakfast is plentiful and very helpful staff. Don't listen to the negative reviews! Excellent location too.
The positives first, the rooms although dated were of a good size. The AC worked well and were cleaned every day. The staff worked very hard. The food was of a good standard and always hot. The negatives, the balcony faced onto a crumbling building which wasn't good. The hotel itself was in a rundown residential area. The walk from the hotel to Bugibba square was a good 20 minute walk, which at night in the humidity wasn't ideal. The pool had lots of sunloungers and parasols which were packed together like sardines. The hotel made extra money by allowing the Maltese in on a day pass which meant the pool was really crowded especially in the pool itself. For the price we paid it was ok but I would not return.
The hotel was beautiful, making our stay even more enjoyable. The room was very nice, clean, and comfortable. The staff were friendly, helpful, and always willing to assist with anything we needed. A special mention to the supervisor Xhuana, who was exceptionally kind, polite, and helpful throughout our stay. She was always available and made sure we had everything we needed. Overall, we had a wonderful experience and would definitely recommend this hotel!
It is clean and nice and well located. But it is a family hotel which means it is noisy due to the children walking along the hallways day and night. For relaxing I would recommend something else. The pool area was too busy. No chance to get in. The indoor pool was better but very smelly due to the chloric. The water pressure in the shower was like zero. I would say it is worth the price but if you can spend a bit more go elsewhere.

We’ve just returned from a four-day stay at the Topaz Hotel in St. Paul’s Bay, and honestly, we couldn’t fault it! ❤️ For a budget-friendly hotel, we were genuinely blown away. The room size was fantastic — we booked for 2 adults and 1 child, and were given an apartment-style room with six beds! There was also air conditioning in each room, which was absolutely amazing, especially in the Maltese heat. ☀️ The staff were honestly some of the friendliest and most helpful people we’ve come across. Nothing was ever too much trouble, and everyone was polite, welcoming and always happy to help. The poolside staff deserve a special mention — absolutely brilliant! 🍹🏖️ The food was another surprise. The portions were huge — honestly, one portion could easily feed two people — and everything was reasonably priced. And if you like a good cocktail… theirs certainly don’t disappoint! 🍸😂 They were STRONG! Overall, our four-day stay was absolutely outstanding. For the price, the room size, staff, food, pool and location, we honestly couldn’t have asked for more. Would 100% recommend the Topaz Hotel and would happily stay here again! ❤️🇲🇹 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
