Beautiful views and ultimate relaxation, but best for a quiet getaway
We stayed here in May and the location is absolutely lovely. We had a stunning dual view: on the left side, we could see the peaceful lagoon, and on the right, we could see the waves of the Mediterranean Sea. Truly beautiful!
The food was delicious and changed every single day, which we loved. The hotel itself was lovely and very clean. The staff were nice, though they didn't speak much English. When we asked for recommendations on places to visit or things to do, they couldn't give us much direction other than a bus number to get into town.
Just a heads-up for families: we wouldn't recommend this hotel for children during May. At this time of year, it attracts mostly an elderly crowd. However, if you are looking to completely relax, unwind, and stay somewhere nice and quiet, we highly recommend it!
We arrived at 10am and were told by Jesus at reception that we could return to check in at 12. After returning at 12 and handing over our passports, we were given our room number and then told to return at 3pm for our room key.
Before leaving, we asked Pablo, at reception, if we could have beach towels for the pool, we were told they cost €10 each and only cash is accepted. However, his attitude towards us was incredibly impolite, unprofessional, and completely unwelcoming. He was passive aggressive, rolling his eyes at our question and giggling/whispering to his colleague Jesus. We have noticed that some of the staff treat English guests very differently to Spanish guests.
The information given by staff was very limited, we weren’t told the timings of meals, locations of facilities, check-out times, or the WiFi details. There was absolutely no help and even when asking if we could be helped to our room with our bags, they refused.
The room was stuffy with poor air circulation, despite an air con unit. We found hairs on towels that were supposedly “clean”, an empty mini fridge, lack of supplies for tea and no toiletry bags as you usually find in hotels. The WiFi barely reached our room which meant turning on data roaming for the entirety of our stay. The pillows are horrendous, our quality of sleep has been poor. The two pillow options are either a square cushion-type pillow or a long, almost-cylindrical pillow that is rock hard.
We tried several times over the course of our holiday to eat at the Snack Bar but each time the door was locked and no information was provided about it being closed.
Anyone who has stayed at this hotel knows that you can wait as long as 10 minutes for a lift. Our room was on the highest floor which made travelling back and forth tedious as so much of it was spent waiting for the lift to arrive.
The food at this hotel has to be one of the worst parts about this stay. It’s poor quality, lacks freshness and is overall disgusting. There is limited information available about what is in the food. On our first night here, I opted for the “vegetable stir fry” only to find there was meat in it. If you are vegan, vegetarian or need halal food, please do not bother coming here. There is meat mixed into almost all of the dishes. The food is repetitive, stale and extremely underwhelming. The dining hall itself has poor hygiene, plates are often left out and allowed to pile up on most of the tables. There are no open doors or windows to allow better ventilation for such a cramped space. One morning we attended “late breakfast” at 10am and they actually turned the lights off whilst guests were still eating.
The overall ambience of the hotel is not relaxing at all. By the pool there are different speakers that play different songs at the same time. As I’m writing this, one speaker is playing a One Direction song, whilst the other plays a generic beach holiday instrumental. In the afternoon, there’s constant drilling/banging that can be heard in your room when you open the balcony door. The rooms lack soundproofing and I’ve often been woken by our neighbour coughing at night and people talking outside our door.
The hotel itself is isolated. Although there is a lovely beach close by, that’s about it. We managed to find one nice restaurant on the beach 4 minutes from the hotel but it closes at 5pm. There isn’t much to do for entertainment, unless you book travel.
If you have small children be aware there is no lifeguard on the beach and no lifeguard by the pool on weekends. There are jellyfish that wash onto the shore and also large crabs lurking in the vegetation in the shallow part of the water. Again, there are no warning signs about this or information to alert people to this. Some guests actually disrupt the wildlife and this would not happen if the beach were monitored. We have seen groups of people taking crabs out of the water and bringing them onto the beach to take pictures, with no concern for the welfare of the animal.
Mediocre.
Outdated rooms, TERRIBLE elevators, no AC, no activities nearby, music is far too loud outside so can’t sleep, food was boring. Although…beautiful view, nice private beach, lots of kid related shows and clubs. Great for a cheap family holiday, awful for a romantic weekend. And DEFINITELY a 3 star hotel, not 4.
DO NOT RECOMMEND.
If you do not speak Spanish they will be short with you, and the staff will treat you poorly. They have edm blasting every night until 1am and our rooms sink came broken. In general just a bad hotel, save your money, don’t come here .
The hotel’s advertising shouldn't just say "all-inclusive," but rather "all-inclusive—with some items excluded." When I asked for water for my room at the downstairs restaurant, a staff member sold me an unsealed 2-liter bottle of tap water for 2 euros. I pointed out that I was on an "all-inclusive" plan, but he replied, "That [tap water] isn't included." If I were the owner, I would check exactly what is being sold from the restaurant's fridges. I believe the employee should be fired immediately for this; selling items is one thing, but passing off bottles filled with ordinary tap water as mineral water is fraudulent. Also, there was neither coffee nor a kettle in my room—amenities that are typically included in all hotels, even 3-star ones.
