We've just arrived home from our stay at this hotel, and I just wanted to leave a review as we heard negative things and it isn't really as bad as what people have said. The room we had were was good great views and spacious but beds were quite uncomfortable for us but our 5 Yr old loved the themed bunk beds. They were cleaned every day and we had no issues with the cleanliness any where in the hotel. There was little to no entertainment but what there was was good enough. They had a kids club but it was difficult to find out when it was open and the team weren't always around to ask, however when our boy joined in he loved it. The food wasn't good there was very little choice and it was the same every day! However there was a themed night with fresh cut cured meat and Spanish themed meal this was a welcome surprise, the snack bar was OK to eat at and mostly where we ate. The pool was great and drinks were good. Staff were all very lovely and kind and would interact with us even though many didn't understand us as they didn't speak much English. Overall the area was amazing with fantastic views and the beach was great but too hot to stay at long, I would recommend going early morning. We would return to this hotel but I don't think it would be on an all inclusive basis. We have enjoyed our week here!
This is not a hotel in the true sense of the word, but rather an ingenious unacknowledged escape game.
The hotel should change the status of its business.
We were "amused" by the review starting "if hell had a branch on the beach, it would be called Bakour". For the author of this review and others, we add ours and I suggest starting a fan club for this hotel, because this experience is non-transferable and unforgettable!
Now seriously, whoever agrees with the following, request a refund, compensation!
It is unbelievable that this facility has 4 stars.
Despite the plan, we only lasted a few days, it was not possible.
Whoever does not come from the sewer cannot want to spend a well-deserved and paid vacation in the sewer. I do not want to believe that everyone with a 5/5 rating came from the sewer, these are rather fictitious reviews, right?
The hotel, originally nice in design, from 2009, underwent a rebranding to the Bakour chain about a year ago (searchable information).
According to the available reviews, the new operator (not the owner) has apparently been trying an economic model on the edge of the health of each guest and the mental health of each employee from the very beginning and quite persistently. There is a desperate shortage of staff, you won't encounter many local staff, so you don't even need to take a Spanish dictionary with you, let alone an English one. One of the key operational problems is the pitiful shortage of staff. I don't even want to guess how much profit must be left from such a model in the busy season, but it will probably be worse with customer satisfaction and their return.
The advantage is that by the second day you will get to know everyone from the hotel, because the food will be delivered to you (if you are lucky and it happens) by the receptionist, maintenance man, deputy director and perhaps even the director (you can recognize it by the dress code, even if it is dirty).
Don't you find it strange at the "4" hotel, why you don't have a single closed-off gastro product available (drinks, dressing, dairy products - except milk, sugar-free, lactose-free products, something in a chilled glass, etc.)?
Do you also like warm butter? Breakfast/lunch/dinner is a world championship in micro gastronomy and food staging, you will never see a single egg cut so ingeniously anywhere else. But if you come to the dining room second in line, that one egg won't get to you. Allergies are not taken into account here at all, there are a criminally small number of tongs, low quality or no food labels, this is mandatory and punishable by law, by the way. Do you like to play the game of clean plate? You're fine here, you'll enjoy it :). Don't go to the meal early, you'll save yourself the embarrassing expulsion from the dining room because you don't have anything to do there yet, always give yourself about 15 minutes. reserve. In the queue for the opening, you have plenty of space to chat with people we haven't met anywhere else on holiday in the world. In this hotel, people don't laugh or have much fun. It's logical, the body switches to "survival" mode in case of danger and saves vital functions.
If you like to look at what fell under the table at breakfast during dinner, you have the opportunity here, unless a cockroach or other insect eats it first. Only "Mr. Wind" cleans up outside and the snack is a fried parody for those who decided to test their stomachs during their holiday and spend a few hours waiting for each order. Prepare another time allowance for the beverage service at lunch and dinner. Canned fruit is perhaps just the smallest mistake.
It's just really bad here.. have a good time and don't let everything go to waste!
Vacation is a special time spent with family, friends in an environment that you love and want to return to. So we definitely won't be returning...
Note that a new short review 5/5 will appear here in a while. Money comes first..
Great stay with a few small downsides
We had a lovely stay! The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming — truly one of the highlights of our visit. The food was delicious, the room was clean and beautifully decorated, and we really appreciated the available parking. The pool with slides was a big plus.
That said, a few things could be improved. During peak season, only one of the two elevators was working, which meant long waits — sometimes 10–15 minutes. The bathrooms felt a bit tired: worn-out rubber seals caused water to leak onto the floor while showering, and the faucets were old and covered in limescale. Also, there were no slippers or bathrobes in the room — which really should be standard in a resort hotel.
Overall, we enjoyed our time and would consider returning if some updates are made.
Probably the worst hotel I’ve ever been to in terms of cleanliness and maintenance. We arrived early around 12pm and waiting 3hrs to check in at 3pm (as that’s the check in time) as the room wasn’t clean yet. When we checked in and went up to the room, the room was full of food crumbs all over the table and floor, the bathroom was absolutely horrific, hair all over the bath, the walls of the shower and glass looked as if it hadn’t been cleaned ever, toe nails next to the toilet, mirrors horrific. We informed the receptionist and she was nice about it, sent someone to re clean the room. The room smelt clean on entering but it was clear it had not been re-cleaned and only some hair was removed from the bath tub. The next day we left the “please make up room” sign on the door, we saw the cleaning lady in our hall way multiple times throughout the day however, at 21:00 the room had still not been made up, no toilet paper, or fresh towels. Hotel has a lot of potential but it is lacking maintenance, everything is run down and worn out. The rooms are spacious but very dated. The bar menu is very disappointing. I’ve stayed in 2* hotels with much cleaner rooms and facilities and a much better general experience. It is in a good location, and we had a nice sea view.
Arrived yesterday with my partner for our birthdays this week. We are both very disappointed with the rooms, compared to photos online they are very deceiving and lot smaller than we expected. The food is minimal, not much to offer at breakfast only bare basics. The pool is fairly clean only the bar side pool is closed which wasn’t mentioned online when we reviewed & booked the hotel. The bar inside the hotel only offers spirits and Heineken - no cocktails. The lady on reception when we arrived wasn’t very helpful, she hadn’t great English and could barely understand us. Today the lady ( a different person) was most helpful as best as she could. We were not offered any information with regards to the surrounding areas where to find places supermarkets etc. when we arrived. very disappointed & wouldn’t recommend.
