We loved our six-night half-board stay at the hotel. It's just five minutes to get to the path around Lake Bled. Our room was 107 on the first floor and super quiet. The room was simply furnished but had everything that was needed for a comfortable stay. No issues with the plumbing or odours as per some reviews. Breakfast was a mix of hot and cold dishes with plenty of fresh fruit everyday. Dinner was buffet style and served at the neighbouring Hotel Kompass which has the same owner as Lovec. It's only a two-minute walk away. Again there was good variety and the hot options changed each night. Fresh fruit was always available. Finally, a word on the staff. All were genuinely kind and helpful. Special shout-out to Lea on reception for her friendly nature and down-to-earth manner.
For a 4-star hotel, there are a lot of problems!!! The service and staff is bad and unfriendly. This hotel is not worth the money. First, when we arrived they told they would do our Julian Alps card for the other day, but they didn't. So, they showed us a qr code. Second, if you would like to use the pool, bath tub or the sauna, you need to call them to turn things on. Third, in our room, there was no bottle opener. How do you expect people to open a coke or a beer without it????!!! When we went to the reception, they told they couldn't help and sent us to the pub/restaurant. There's they told it was supposed to have inside the minibar, but no, in our room we didn't have it. Fourth, cleaning service is a disaster. We had 4 towels: 2 for pool and 2 for showering. They only left 2 towels. The bed was not made and the mug that we used for a tea was not cleaned, plus tea was not replaced. Besides that, everything feels you are asking for a favor and that you are not paying a high cost for the hotel. Fifth, water was not going away on the shower. Really disappointed. At least the breakfast is decent and the bed is comfortable, but definitely not worth the money.
Rooms are very dated. Shower head leaks and doesn’t work well. I had a hard time showering. But room is very big and spacious. Service is pretty good though. Location is fantastic. Right at the main area but our room had no view. A pity. Just a slip up. We didn’t ask to make up the room but the housekeeper came in to do it. The floor was mopped but it was so wet that I almost slip and fall.
I stayed at this hotel and someone scratched the door of my car while it was parked on their parking lot overnight. The scratch matches perfectly with fresh white paint transfer from the car parked right next to mine. When I reported it immediately to the reception and manager, their response was completely useless and dismissive. They just said the cameras are not working, they don’t know anything, and basically told me ‘sorry, not our problem’ with zero interest in helping. No attempt to check guest records, no call to the other guest, no support whatsoever. The staff was unhelpful, uninterested and rude. If you care even a little about your car not getting damaged and actually getting any assistance when something happens on their premises – do not stay here. Terrible customer service and zero responsibility. I will never return and I do not recommend this place at all.
The location is superb! Just 3 minutes walk from the lake. The bed is extremely comfortable, we could barely get up in the morning! Breakfast was rich and varied, everything was available and delicious. The pool and saunas were neat and good quality. The staff was pretty friendly and professional. Shout out to Amel :)
